If you're like me, and that little blade on the circulation pump has begun chewing up the motor shaft, you'll likely not experience its removal to be so swift. Try to straightened it out on the shaft, and get underneath with a pliers, and you can "pursuade" it off with a flathead. Careful on the seal underneath too.

May I offer some constructive criticism? Great repair video, well narrated and demonstrated. But what gives me pause is the music in the background. I find this unnecessarily distracting when I'm here to learn something quickly. Hope you will consider this comment in the spirit it was given. Regards, and thank you.

Great video, one harness not connected before you put cover back on. Was that electrical harness for leak sensor?

At one of my properties the tenant complained that their dishwasher had stopped working. I sent out a technician and they said a piece of copper had gotten into the motor pump assembly, stopped the motor, and fried it. Is there no protection on the motor that would prevent this in the case of a stall?

I have a Samsung DW80F600UTS. I used to get "smart auto and heavy lights blinking" , replaced the overflow sensor and it worked for about a month but now It fills up with water but then it starts draining 1 second after it tries starts the cycle, fills up again and then drain again for 4-5 times until it stops with a "delicate light blinking" but there's no drainage blocking. I tested it out of the enclosing and still the same issue. If you know for sure (or have a pretty good idea) what could be causing this problem please help.

I had a Samsung dishwasher that I believe had similar symptoms. Does yours have a black float with an optical sensor? In my case, calcium/crud had gotten in between the light and optical receiver. Cleaning the housing with the float in it fixed it.

I took the pump apart to clean out the gunk. I have a small rubber ring I can't remember where it went.

that model is junk . took the unit apart cleaned it out only to have the board fail. ended up replacing the unit with a newer model that has touch sensor on top instead of front and doesn't use an impeller to grind food just a strainer.

    Absolutely NONprofessional video!
If the motor doesn't work, WHY NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE PUMP UNIT ??? Whats the problem to replace just the motor??? Much much more easier, cheaper and IT'S THE RIGHT WAY.
PP1- if you have flat tire on your car did you replace it with the wheel together?
PP2- the common problem when the motor doesn't work is bad capacitor ! WHY YOU DIDN'T CHECK IT BEFORE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE PUMP UNIT???

In my experience with two of these machines in rental units I own, the problem was that water had gotten into the drain tray due to various issues and the rear (in this case bottom) motor bearing had frozen up from sitting in the water. The water could be gone, but there may be rust spots on the motor and drain tray. You can tell if the bearing is frozen by reaching in to the back of the motor with a screwdriver and trying to spin the armature. If it does not spin very freely, that is the problem. The bearing is a standard type 608 lifetime lubricated bearing that is found in skateboard and roller blade wheels and can be bought at any skate shop or on ebay or amazon, or, in an emergency, taken from you kid's skateboard. Just remove the four screws from the bottom plate of the motor and separate the plate from the motor stator to remove it. You can easily drive the bearing out of the plate with a 5/8" dowel or drill bit and press in the new bearing by hand. The motor will run like new. Note: the fill and drain sensors are optical, so make sure you cover them up if you are testing the machine outside or in bright light, or you will get confounding fill and drain errors.
