I apologize I didn't see this question. Tree is doing well as of July 2022. I left the staked and taped for the first 2 years after planting. Might have been too long but I didn't want the bark to burn in the Arizona heat.
Need to shave down on the roots to let grow out . That way is just making the root circulate the root to no make stable an it cause a lot of gruderling roots
