"Can you meet me at 6pm at Bedford Ave and North 7th St? #socialmusic #loveriot"
And with that Jon Batiste And Stay Humantook a Second Line party down Bedford Avenue through the heart of Williamsburg and into McCarren Park for 90 minutes of Popular music that spanned the the past two centuries and proved why he is ready to be the new Late Show with Stephen Colbert band leader

It's all good. I'm in Florida on a Friday, April 8 of 2022. It's a miserable day in Florida. It's still stupid and weird in the world. And he of course just won all those Grammys and finally is being recognized for the incredible human that he is. So this is a blessing as it continues isn't it? Peace. Gail in central Florida.

I am from New Orleans. He just made my heart so happy. Reminding me of these breakouts that would occur from time to time. It is so freeing to march like that. I always used to carry my tambourine with me just in case! 🤗
The power of music!
I was curious what that kind of drum was that shows up starting at 5:01 and did a bit of googling. For those that didn't know (like me), that's a cajon box drum, originally from Peru. The guy playing it is Japanese drummer Taku Hirano, who's toured with Fleetwood Mac, Bette Midler, Stevie Nicks, and Cirque du Soleil, to name a few. You can find him doing some pretty sweet cajon solos on YT.
Way beyond cool, over the moon & the Universe smiles again & again!!!!!

Being a New Orleans freak, I am watching this and of course enjoying very minute. Marveling at the video work and then I see it's the great Marc Millman! No surprise, a Batiste-Millman love riot.

I have that tuba! with a recording bell and in silver finish. I love old kings, love Stay Human and street music, maybe one day I'll get myself together and get out and play some myself!

2022,...I'm bummed out that Jon has moved on from being on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Which leads me to wonder what happened to his band,...Stay Human.
Love these! What melodica model does he use out of studio/Late Show? The cool decorated ones? They've got 32 keys instead of his Suzuki 37. Just wondering if anyone knows.
