Name for new calf: Dottie! She has two dots so Dottie fits and it’s so cute!

I’m from Jersey (the original Jersey where the Jersey cow comes from). Due to the calf’s story, I can only suggest one name. My island was occupied during WWII and the island underwent many hardships. In May 1944 our island became liberated, after plans were set in motion under the operation named ‘Nestegg’. While I don’t think this suits as a name for a cow, I do believe Nessa would be a good nod to our history, and the persistence you’ve had with trying to bring this calf into the world :)

You should name the new calf Meadow. It’s fitting for her as she was found/born in a field. It also goes really well with Maisy. 💕

Hibiscudelphus woodii …sp? It was a flower discovered by a drone in Hawaii. Not sure what kind of name could be derived from that, but that was an amazing discovery.

Hey from Maine. I found you guys by accident and I love your vlogs. I am a chicken farmer in Maine. I am a pure country boy, and my husband is pure city (poor guy haha). Anyway, I have been watching your past videos and I have a few things to say (not bad at all). You two parents are incredible in what you are doing. The fact you are being self sufficient, and you bring your children into it. Your are awesome parents. I want to say this regarding an old post when Ernie was sitting on eggs. His first chick died, and the chick was far from him etc... You tried to save the chick but it was too late. You sat outside the coop with the dead chick talking about responses, that everyone would blame you (and did based on your message) because you did not intervene etc.,, I have been a bird farmer for many years. Guess what (to those that criticize) things happen, nature happens and accidents happen,; this is the nature of farming. It is sad, when a baby animal dies and we don't know why. It does happen and we don't always have the 'high end sight' to see the outcome coming. I would not worry about the comments, they are normally from people that have never had a farm. Keep doing what you are doing. I would love to pick your brain about Emu and Peacock farming. Good luck to you and your beautiful family.

The one patch look like shield the other a fat lightning bolt; maybe a name that means protector or brave or guardian or defender.
I always like traditional names like:
Buttercup, Clover, Hazel, Butterscotch, Honey, Annabel, Esmeralda, Nutmeg, Bessie, Clarabelle, Peanut, Patches, any berry names, etc

I like the name Minnie after Minnie Mouse and her polka dots!

I am Naveen from India , I do watch all your videos on a regular basis and i like what you guys do.
I have even watched your videos multiple times to see your animals.
We do have cows in our house and we love them too ❤
I just wanted to tell you this but I am not sure if the below suggestion is needed or will it be helpful for you.
Whenever you get a female calf , see if you can give her belly rubs and scratches , including her milking area whenever you pet her.
If we do that more often ,they would be very comfortable when you start milking, so comfortable that you can even let kids milk the cow( but don't do it 😂) without any of those milking arrangements .
They do really get comfortable and calm around people if they get human touch/belly rubs on regular basis

I grew up farming cattle in Tennessee- my grandparents lived on the farm, my dad grew up there. It was a family affair- my dad and I were there every day checking the cows.. my favorite memories are at the farm. My dad passed away in 2010.. as it goes, he was set to take over the farm. It broke all of us- I ended up moving to NC to start over… grandaddy sold off part of the land and let go of some cows little by little. I think we had 350 head in 2010.. last winter was so hard on him.. he made the decision to let the rest of them go a couple weeks ago. For the first time since my family settled in TN, maybe even further back, the Loggins don’t have cattle. It was such a sad day. But watching you tear up over the birth of that baby warmed my heart more than you know. I’ve been watching y’all since 2020 and this has been such an incredible journey and I am beyond thrilled for y’all. There’s nothing more special than growing up on a farm.. can’t wait to see your next little one too 😉❤

It is so much fun to see the Emus run with wild abandon. They have so much room to just bust out and GO! It is joyful to watch. It is also delightful seeing Bella doing chores and pitching in to do the farm work with the boys. She is doing her share and will be as responsible and caring as the rest of you are. You have some amazing children.

So many things are happening this year! The aviary is being built, they finally have white peacocks after 3 years, and Maize finally had a calf! I’m so happy!

Congrats on the new baby! Since she was successfully bred down in Texas, you could give her a name from a Texas flower. There's (Yellow) Rose or Bluebell, for example.
