For those wondering about the reversing:
These cars are built with insanely conplicated ways to put it into reverse. They want to avoid it happening during a race. You might need to press a series of 5 buttons to put it in reverse.
Also reverse is only needed for stuff like this. So the reverse gear itself is a dainty little lightweight gear, so combine that eith a big awesome engine, and reversing becomes next to impossible
Thank you for the e explanation mate - genuinely appreciated and helps us make sense of what to us in normal cars is fairly simple!
Lack of skill issue being unable to even turn
It wasn't so much the reversing that raised my eyebrow, it was that many of these cars seemed unable to make the turn at all, that their turning radii seemed excessively wide, even compared to the "normal" cars these were based upon.
That's just engeneiring beeing lazy, if money isn't the problem there's no excuse.
A lot of race cars don't even have reverse gears at all
The struggle some of those cars have just going into reverse is mind blowing to me.

Most of them are not made to go reverse at all it's lucky in events like these that they even have one.
Most likely due to being driven by people who are not fully versed in the cars.

✔️ Yep, after about a dozen cars turned around in the most boring way imaginable, ^the guy @2:36 reminded everyone how to do it! If your race-ready car can't quite make the turn without having to put it in reverse, then just turn the wheel & punch the gas petal! Problem solved!

Now that I've seen how a lot of different cars from different discipline make this u-turn, it just solidifies the idea in my head that most people will really have fun if they set up there cars as if it were rally cars. Man they had no trouble turning around. Most cars that are setup for track racing really sucks to be driven on normal roads as expected, while rally cars are pretty much race cars setup with real life roads in mind.
Thats why rally is king! At least in my book 😊

11:30 satin Martin bulldog wow that thing still looks so modern and cool. My friends dad owned this car in the eighties. He owned a shop called royal carriage motors. In the Seattle area. I was so impressed with this car as a kid. Now Aston Martin makes the coolest car again with the Valkyrie.

@@black.pewdiepie415 I think from the looks of it the unreasonably soft airbag suspension ruined its performance. People don't seem to get that airbags are horrible for performance. Absolutely horrible. Only good for street vehicles doing offroading

the term "money cant buy you skills" come to mind when watching some of these cars turn. can easily see who is who.
Misplaced disrespect. A lot of these drivers are not the owners and a bunch of them are racing legends. Racecars are not made for tight turns and some of these clutches are unbelievably heavy.
