Watch this Murdaugh case video: • Alex Murdaugh | Motive...
Case background: On June 7th, 2021, Alex called 911 to report that his wife and son had been shot at their Moselle estate in Islandton, South Carolina. In 2021, many of the criminal acts that Alex had committed started to surface, which got him fired from his law firm. Many strange deaths have occurred surrounding the Murdaugh family, including Mallory Beach, Stephen Smith, and Gloria Satterfield.

    1. Your editing is masterful. Thank you! 2. Clerk of the court is an elected position, and that is why she is still working. I think only the Attorney General can suspend her -- but that may be premature as an ethics committee is currently investigating her conduct. Her career is over, but it may take some time to get her out due to the fact she was elected to this position. There is no reason for a clerk of court to EVER speak with a juror. The bailiff takes care of the jurors, not the clerk. Maybe in small towns where everyone knows each other things are more informal to the point of this nonsense? I think the international attention to this case overwhelmed everyone in Colleton county.

My opinion is that the Clerk and others feel and behave too comfortable on their job. Moreso than being professional at it. And that she definitely talked to co-workers about the case in close proximity to several jurors. And that even the jurors were very lax in their own protocol and in following the rules.

I believe and trust murdaugh is exactly where he belongs..
Whatever Becky did or didn't do is a separate issue..has nothing to do with his being found guilty of the killing of his wife n son..
It is a horror to me how much attention and effort is afforded criminals under the guise of justice..he got what he earned... justice served

I agree with the judge’s verdict because there was not clear & convincing evidence that the verdict was affected by BH’s misconduct. If she allowed there to be a new trial nearly a year after the verdict on ambivalent information then the entire justice system could be destabilized by jurors being subject to harassment and intimidation to “change” their mind months after a verdict was rendered.

The outcome guarantees the maximum benefit. No matter how this judge ruled, the decision would be appealed. Here, the judge packaged the decision for the appeals court to address the complex and unsettled law that forms the basis of the dispute. I would be surprised if the defendant doesn't get a new trial in the end. However, we might as well settle and set precedent along the way. It's not like the defendant is going anywhere for the next 20 years or so. If his liberty was really at stake, I may have a different opinion, as it is I look forward to the next 4 or so trials. It actually was very educational, and all parties performed well. I was critical of the judge at first, but her cross of Becky Hill was great. Also, as a retired judge, I don't think she wanted to get mired in the Murdaugh saga and decided to kick it up to a higher court and get some benefits for the judicial system in the process. None of that could have happened, had a retrial been ordered after juror z's testimony...

Ms. Becky is certainly guilty of very inappropriate behavior and I’m sure she will be getting brought up on some serious charges. She is an elected official and still at her position but I believe they will be working on getting her removed legally from her position asap!! She really sunk herself in this testimony. I’m not a fan of Griffin or Harpotlian but she broke rules and took advantage of her position, and put this high profile case in jeopardy!! Corruption is rampant on all levels. Very sad 😢

If this book of hers was non fiction, which it should be if it's about a murder trial, there is no poetic license. If you do that it becomes a fiction book and I don't think you can write a book about a specific person and their court case in a fiction sense. If you can then that needs to be changed.
