You know what the craziest part about this episode is? Some of the launch dates of those ancient games you see like Ultima Online weren't that far off from the date of this episode, which I assume was from 2002 or 2003. Ultima Online was only released four years before this episode aired. And almost six years ago, we had the release of Fallout 4, but it felt like yesterday the game was released. I think it just goes to show you how rapid technology was advancing back then in the 90s and early 2000s. Games were constantly improving back then and they were original, but right now, we seem to be at a stagnant where original ideas are hard to come by, and every game feels the same.
Yes, it's cazy , I think exactly the same. actually , whether it is music, cinema, games, we have this impression of total flatness and nothing innovative
+Rusty Shackleford (andrew24p) A Investor group bought SOE Now Daybreak Everquest is dead.Everquest Next is in development hell.,so i don't see Daybreak lasting much longer it will be a sad day when they close their doors.
Likely the GREATEST MMORPG achievement ever. Yes, WoW flipped the industry on its head. However, this game truly was everything true MMORPG die hards and lovers wanted. Join Project 1999 today.
Sad to say, that's about where I was looking for the exit as well. At best I was pickup raid worthy, everything ust seemed to be made for someone else.
I love it..."People dedicate 38 hours of TV a week and that's too much. Everquest is different and we think people should play it as much as they want." No way this stance had anything to do with a constant revenue stream. ;)
NeoCorinthian its still running and has expansions out every year. It actually does better than its sexual especially since they now have legacy servers that emulate the game from release
Sony did star wars galaxies right THE FIRST TIME, then they listened to whiners and changed it adding lvls then eventually completely changing the whole game and ruined it forever........
The vocal is usually the minority. The problem is the majority. The only data sony would have is the data of the minority. As such, you have to listen to the user (in this case the vocal minority). There is a quote, "The only thing necessary for evil is for good men to do nothing". If you don't cast a vote during an election, you effectively voted for the person who won, because if you had cast a vote (let's say against the eventual winner), you would have made an impact in the other direction. See what I'm saying.
Everquest is still around As is everquest 2 they are not as popular now as they were in there hayday World of warcraft had a lot to do with it but EQ is in the middle of a resurgence in players
bring this show back the history of gaming is a constant there is more history.

I miss this show
Great documentary, I love your theme choice.
Everquest is one of the first MMORPGs many are nostalgic for this game.
Everquest was an amazing game, still play it to this day on the Project 1999 server and have more fun playing it than anything else out at the moment.
I would like to see a SOE fall from grace documentary, now that daybreak bought them out.

So. . . am I the only one who thinks the voice behind Icons is Ryan Drummond, the voice actor for Sonic during the Adventure era.

At best I was pickup raid worthy, everything ust seemed to be made for someone else.
man i wish there was a channel like this with all the old xplays
Oh man, Jetmoto was so fun too.
This is when video games were better. This is also when video game based television was better.
This particular clip reminded me of how out of date these documentaries were.
And, also, thanks for uploading them.
A 10 dollar monthly fee is not bad in comparison to wow's 15 a month.
wonder where denise is now?

Does Everquest still exist, or did WoW destroy it?
NeoCorinthian its still running and has expansions out every year. It actually does better than its sexual especially since they now have legacy servers that emulate the game from release

Are Everquest servers still online?
Hell yeah they are. It's nothing like it was back then though, but there is a private server called P99 for that.
We play on trakanon - progression guild. We JUST killed Aten. Few more weeks before we open PoP.
Called "Lost in Progression"
I hope you get this - project1999 is calling you.
***** Next isn't out yet, you must mean Landmark.
Yes

watching this is amazing but it does remind me of just how shit G4TV is, now its just Xplay, ninja warrior and cops :(
Jim g4tv went extinct years ago
Fast forward to 2019 EverQuest is dead
P99 is still going good, 700 players on blue, 1500 players on green during peak.
