As with the tree where you stopped for beak and refreshment, I would have done the same sitting under it as it looked like the only nice looking shaded area. Glad the locals were understanding you did not know it was sacred. Hopefully they get help having it corralled with a sign 🪧 to help other visitors like you. Overall, I enjoyed the video😊.

The Togo government just needs to pave that road and attract tourists. Or get a private entity to do it. Many West African countries are not utilizing the beautiful resources. My homeland -Nigeria included.
Only daredevils can go the speed that you were going on that dirt road dodging the potholes like you were in a game of dodge balls. Frankly, I think Togo and Benin should merge together to up their economic development. It doesn’t make sense in their remaining two countries, given what they have in common, populated by the same ethnic peoples, languages, traditions, and history.
