    Dear Viewer,
    We won't always agree on every topic, I know this. However, keeping the FMA conversation alive is a worthy cause, even at the expense of disagreement, we are doing the work together. I believe that these videos and discussions will ultimately lead to a bright and prosperous future for FMA and every ambassador of our arts and culture will inevitably benefit.
    I love the Filipino Martial Arts and so do you. This is our bond and our connection.
    My efforts to promote Filipino Martial Arts is dependent on community support. It requires money and resources to travel all around the world to make this content for you and our community. Video editing equipment is costly and video editing takes a lot of time...not to mention the software fees and storage costs to secure all of this data.
    Time is precious for everyone and you work hard for your money. The attempts to monetize and sustain my efforts ensures that FMA will continue to be a time priority for me and it will ensure that passions are kept burning rather than being extinguished by bills and responsibilities. I hope you understand where I am coming from. The skills I have acquired in content creation is in demand and if making money is my only priority, surely there are industries I can prioritize. But as I noted before, I love FMA and I really want this to work out. And here's where you can take part in this journey.
    You can show your support in many ways. A simple thumbs up will do just fine. A subscription is even better. When you share these videos, you are taking part in its growth and in this journey.
    If you find value in my content and if you can reasonably afford it I have created some FMA related apparel that might love. They can be purchased here: bit.ly/3evJJzj
    I have also created a PayPal account. Contributions as little as $3 will go towards travel expenses and equipment to ensure that the FMA content on this channel will continue.
    If you have learned something from these tutorial videos or if you appreciated an opinion I vocalised, please head over here on PayPal: bit.ly/3dJdJYZ
    If you cannot do any of that, I still appreciate you. I still want to communicate with you in the comments section. And I still appreciate your viewership...even if we disagree.
    Together, and in our own ways, let's continue to be ambassadors for Filipino Martial Arts to ensure that every practitioner and instructor all around the world can continue to heard loud and clear. FMA is here to stay and its future is bright.
    Thank you. Pugay! Mabuhay!

    A dog Brother spars hard and often ...not taking anything from tuhon waid but that's a hard opponent to fight against regardless of someone's standing in their system...that's why boxers are hard to beat...they bang gloves more often than their martial arts counterparts.

    • @daanvandijk166

      I am pretty sure phillip has had boxing training, he goes body jab-right body hook-right hook to the head-right uppercut- right hook to the head and lands ALL of them. if this man has no boxing experience I will never talk about martial arts online ever again.

      @@daanvandijk166 strikes are universal brutha. Those strikes patterns you mentioned are actually part of the Qol de mama, Sabayan drill and use the basic strikes of PTK knife. His strikes did not come from boxing, but they exist in boxing.

      I sometimes hold it like that whenever I am just out of range --- I don't even know why. I guess it's very comfortable to casually hold it like that. But when the range closes and it's time to bang...full grip, tight.
      I learned this lesson the hard way at the 2019 Pintados Knife Championship. I was fighting a much stronger, bigger person and I had to deliver more power --- well, I ended up jamming my thumb and it was wrecked for almost 6 weeks.

    • @FMASource
      @FMASource  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you want to infuse "reality conditions" to this, we can. And it might even be fun, but let's not take it too too far.
      So, yes --- there is a possibility that both die. However, after the first clash Tim sustained critical, life threatening injuries. Everything depends on how quickly they can mitigate blood loss and make their way to emergency room. Philip needs first aid. Now...as the fight progresses...certainly they both die.
      Tim actually lands a very good shot towards the end --- it was mutual but Tim got the advantage there.

    • @TheArtofMars-ns7jp
      @TheArtofMars-ns7jp 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In reality the first 3 seconds of contact Tim died and Tuhon Philip is fine, if Tuhon Philip trusts would have been for real, Tim slash would have been very weak if it happens at all
      Getting a 6 inch blade right in the jugger would instantly end the fight

  • @miguelangeldiaz9380
    @miguelangeldiaz9380 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Tim waid has a very flowery fencing kind of style. He also trains with a lot of non stick contact with that messes up distance training and it shows here. He should have known better that dancing around and slashing doesn't work against simple thrusts. He failed to defang the snakes with his slashes to nowhere instead of the arms and then rebounding to the face. rebounding to the face ..

    Why no one of this two masters uses at least one of the moves teached in kali knife drills (hubud, palasut, etc) (*1)? I've seen this happened in other kali knife sparring videos.
    Why the situations that those drills represents never happen? When in the close distance they just try to stab and cut his opponent first, or go to the clinch.
    I know that drills are not the real combat; that the prupose of drills is to gain reflexes, speed and coordination. But why train so much (*2) to improve atributes that they will not use in a fight?
    I'm a kali practitioner too, but this questions are taking me away from the art and i'm not receiving satisfactory answers from other masters. That's why i am asking this to you master Rubio, i'm searching for anwers. Thanks.
    *1 Example: permanent contact between the fighters arms during a parry with the armed hand.
    *2 If those drills were trained more sporadicaly there be no problem, but they are one of the more frecuently trained drills in FMA.

    • @FMASource

      When there is real pressure and real intention, the aesthetics of technique fade and are replaced by their core principles.

    • @algo2664
      @algo2664 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FMASource Yeah but why we don't just practice only the core principles and movements that we will do under pressure, instead of loosing time with drills and movements that we will not use.
      HEMA, creolean fencing and italian stiletto schools also have some limb destructions like attacks, they are not like olympic fencers who only target the body, but even without the supposedly essential kali corto mano drills those styles are very effective in knife combat.
