Nanaba's last words always gave me chills. They're so dark, they not only speak to her tragic death, but also her tragic upbringing. It puts it into context: that these are people with their own lives and stories
Carla's too, after nobly telling her children to leave her behind as basically bait to survive themselves, she doesn't want to die
ulUnlike so many noble characters in fiction who face their inevitable death with conviction and dignity, the characters in Aot truly fear death
Makes it more realistic, death sometimes seems to be glorified in shonen, or that's the impression that I get
Thats one of the best things in the history. Humans, like all animals, naturally fear the death, and being eated alive by a giant grotesque humanoid its not exactly a pacific or fast one, is painfull, brutal and horrible. Its natural that the spirit or cordure breaks in such traumatic situation. Nobody, from simple farmers to the most experienced coolblood veterans are inmune to feel fear, Its not being coward, its human.

It is very badly translated sometimes however.
In Japanese, calling somebody "otō san" who is not your father is a mark of respect and politeness.
She literally BEGS 200% for her life to be spared, being polite...
This side is ruined by translations in some countries, because it's not daddy in anyway, it's rather "Sir".
But in the end, it still is heartbreaking indeed...

Sasha's last word is not necessarily meat. Her pet name for Nicolo was Nick which the japanese pronounce as Niku, which is the same word for meat. Her last word could have been her calling out for Nicolo and Connie just misunderstood her for meat....which makes her death all the more sad to me

Miche’s death has scarred me ever since I watched it. It’s the one AOT death that I can’t watch without physically feeling sick or sad. The japanese VA did such a phenomenal job, as did the animators in drawing the most horrific death on the show.

Apparently it's also a reference to her love towards Niccolo. Meat in japanese is Niku (like the beggining of his name), so when she pronounced it she was probably talking about him.

@@bxnju644 thats just a fan headcannon, i never saw any japanese aot community mentioned that it sounds like ニコ Niko, in the manga it was writen as 肉 (niku but in kanji) so there is 0% of it being misunderstood as にく (niku in hiragana). If it was intentionally implied in the first place the editor would write it as にく or ニク to make it more ambiguous, fitting for a dying person way of speech.
@@fukunaga-kane I think Isayama wrote it like that to leave some doubt. There's no way that the guy wouldn't think about the double understanding. Why would a japanese author give the name Niccolo to the lover of Sasha?
Marco's last sentence fits entire anime. Mostly all those people who died just wanted to live their peacefull lives and If they all couldn't use force but just talk: Marley and Eldia. They could be ok with each other as many turned against each other characters have similar stories, similar problems and wouldn't collide by their own

edit: also carlas legs werent broken she just wanted eren and mikasa to run away safely, you can see when the titan picks her up shes moving her legs until it kills her
Here’s a theory, what if Sasha’s last words weren’t ‘Meat’ but Niccolò since meat in japanese sounds like Niku which also sounds like the first two syllables of Niccolò, hinting that she likes Niccolò.

What made me cry was Erwin's death, he was so driven and determined to achieve his goal no matter the cost only to die right as he was about to achieve it. He was also my favorite character so I'm biased.
Although we didn't get to know petra very well, I was still upset about her dying 😔
