What makes it a unique anime is that this doesnt have a happily ending like you though youll get. antagonist die sometimes Unexpectedly Just like real life. Main character changes its physical form sometimes just like real life. I feel inlove with this anime. Thats why it doesnt make me daijoubu. Because im feeling great.

3:47 that shot where Thors catches Thorfinn’s hand hits right in the feels... Thors’ philosophy of a warrior not needing a sword and having no enemies really saved Thorfinn during the farmland arc and gave him a new purpose of trying to be a better person. Just beautiful

With respect, personally I don't think Demon Slayer is best anime of the year. I love Demon Slayer....but the story and characters just aren't at that level. The character design, animation, and music choices are great (especially in ep 19 towards the end)... but Vinland Saga is great on every level. That is what makes anime of the year. I don't see any inconsistencies in the story.... as some have commented, but I'd love to hear their thoughts on this. Demon Slayer has 5th grade dialogue. It's not a hard anime to write. It's a pretty simple anime, there aren't that many layers to it.
This anime could be one of the best. But the main character spoils everything. It does not develop; it is not interesting; it only infuriates me. I am amazed at how you can make the best minor hero (Askelad) and the worst protagonist in one work.

Damn, I couldn't even write a short story between two characters because I'm afraid of messing them up (out of character) ... and I think it's crystal clear that VS's characters have so many layers that it is hard to write. Also, Demon Slayer is shonen while Vinland Saga is seinen. Clearly, even the genres are already telling something. Shonen animes like Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia are meant to attract younger audiences; therefore the dialogues are meant to be easy-to-digest and comprehend. Vinland Saga is not only meant for older audiences, but is also a bit "boring" because of its historical-based content. This is better than most AMVs on TH-cam period. In recent years, the site has been absolutely saturated with crap. Nobody bothers to A) pick appropriate songs, B) edit any of the footage to make sense with what's happening in the song, and C) they abuse the hell out of obnoxious filters. Seeing so many Nightcore, NEFFEX and Skillet AMVs makes me want to self-immolate.
The easiest way to find good amvs is to go through those anime aggregate channels like BestAmvsofAllTime or VermillionAMV. Most of the amvs they reupload tend to have great editing and song choices

1:10 you can see a wing, and at first, it looks like an angel wing, but then it moves and you can see it's just birds. For some reason this hits me hard, like good is an illusion, or something, or good depends on perspective, and i really feel it, idk why it probably isn't meant to feel like anything more than a few birds flying but to me it's so inspirational
I honestly do believe that when people are watching an anime, they determine how good it is with the breathtaking spectacles, flashing lights, and animation quality, rather than the story, characters, or cinematography. I enjoy Vinland Saga so much because of the two stories happening at once (more focused on season 2 with that remark) and Thorfinn’s (and Canute’s) development as a person. I don’t want to say much else as I don’t like spoilers, so I’ll leave it at that.

I normally hate amvs, but my god, this is probably the best I have ever seen, it is so good, amazing editing and it really tells the story of Vinland Saga, now we just have to wait for the second season so that you can make another one ;)
I only just got recommended this, but this hit me right in the feels. I watched it twice back to back and teared up the second time after hearing young Thorfinn's blood-curdling screams. Great edit and thanks for keeping some of the voicelines in the video.

That was a masterpiece. The way the voice's were kept in the mv along with the music adds so much emotion to it. Along with depth. Vinland Saga is tied with Attack on Titan as my favorite anime. It's so good

The Celts and Vikings are pagans, they are not monotheistic and have completely different values and ideals to Christians. Thorfinn is pagan and is the main character, the whole show is centred around paganistic vikings so imo it does fit.
I wouldn't say Demon Slayer is one of the best anime of 2019-2020. But it's much more accurate to say, Demon Slayer has one of the best animation so far.

Vinland Saga is a reminder that revenge, although a primitive instinct (and albeit an arguably fair demand) it only causes more trouble for everyone involved and even to those not involved and sometimes they won't even exist for decades or centuries or millenia. You never know how things will evolve. Sometimes the only thing we can do is walk away even if it burns us. Some things you just get to feel forever and that's the way it is. However, sometimes there is a time to fight and it is your job to understand the difference between your personal suffering and what is overkill both. In every situation. Regardless of how you fell and you WILL feel a whole hell of a lot. It's not easy and it's not supposed to be. I remember when I witnessed police brutality against my mother when I was seven and and I had never had a violent thought in my life (I was VERY sheltered...my mom thought the Smurfs were violent. Uber pacifist. Tried to give me as wholesome a life as she could) and my FIRST thought was "I will fucking kill you if you touch her again" and launched myself between me and them and it took two of them to rip me away from her. They had to figure out I got a hand on the handcuff chain. Like Thors, she didn't fight back. She behaved herself to save me from seeing more. My instinct, deep down, was to protect without thinking and regardless of cost. Her's was to preserve at any cost. Her own way of protecting me. The whole night...and for years after...I had thoughts of revenge. No actual attempts, because that's not what she would have wanted. She would have been like Thors. She would have hated for me to spend my life in jail because of a bunch of corrupt cops that wanted to take advantage of a single woman in a small hick town. They didn't kill her, but...somedays...they might as well have. Most days she fought like hell to overcome it...but many times I had to talk her out of suicide. A child shouldn't have to do that. We never got justice and never will because we can't prove anything now. I can't prove anything. To this day, he is still venerated in that hick town. He ruined my life and I've been pretending to be normal ever since. To this day, if I ever had a gun in my hand and them in my sights and I knew I could get away with it...I wouldn't. I couldn't. How could I dishonor the belief and hope she had for me? Do I still desire karma? Yes. Did I get any? No. Does that eat at my soul 30 years later every day of my life? Absolutely. Do I have blood on my hands? Not even a drop. That's my mother winning even if her body never fully healed. Their reason? She didn't want to date one of the cops. If I had given in even once, that would have been it for my life in one way or another.

Season one is over...season two isn't expected to come out in 2020...I'm caught up to the manga and read it twice...guess I'll be reading it a third time. Also watching this AMV probably dozens of times over since it's so amazing - next time I recommend Vinland Saga to someone I'll totally have them watch this AMV to get hooked

1:10 you can see a wing, and at first, it looks like an angel wing, but then it moves and you can see it's just birds.
For some reason this hits me hard, like good is an illusion, or something, or good depends on perspective, and i really feel it, idk why it probably isn't meant to feel like anything more than a few birds flying but to me it's so inspirational
I honestly do believe that when people are watching an anime, they determine how good it is with the breathtaking spectacles, flashing lights, and animation quality, rather than the story, characters, or cinematography. I enjoy Vinland Saga so much because of the two stories happening at once (more focused on season 2 with that remark) and Thorfinn’s (and Canute’s) development as a person. I don’t want to say much else as I don’t like spoilers, so I’ll leave it at that.

Askeladd beats Thorfin twice without a sword.
Noodles that’s the reason why he won easily but even if he didn’t know his moves askeladd would still win , he is stronger and even if he’s not , he would still win because he’s smarter , Askeladd told Thorfin before that in their fights thorfin doesn’t think enough and makes his anger control him

I normally hate amvs, but my god, this is probably the best I have ever seen, it is so good, amazing editing and it really tells the story of Vinland Saga, now we just have to wait for the second season so that you can make another one ;)
I only just got recommended this, but this hit me right in the feels. I watched it twice back to back and teared up the second time after hearing young Thorfinn's blood-curdling screams. Great edit and thanks for keeping some of the voicelines in the video.

That was a masterpiece. The way the voice's were kept in the mv along with the music adds so much emotion to it. Along with depth. Vinland Saga is tied with Attack on Titan as my favorite anime. It's so good

@Hunting Down The Guy Without A Mustache But that's what makes it compatible, the only Christians there are in the show are the Normans and the Anglo saxons. The Celts and Vikings are pagans, they are not monotheistic and have completely different values and ideals to Christians. Thorfinn is pagan and is the main character, the whole show is centred around paganistic vikings so imo it does fit.

I did not expect such a great AMV of Vinland saga with this song, great job.
Vinland Saga is a reminder that revenge, although a primitive instinct (and albeit an arguably fair demand) it only causes more trouble for everyone involved and even to those not involved and sometimes they won't even exist for decades or centuries or millenia. You never know how things will evolve. Sometimes the only thing we can do is walk away even if it burns us. Some things you just get to feel forever and that's the way it is. However, sometimes there is a time to fight and it is your job to understand the difference between your personal suffering and what is overkill both. In every situation. Regardless of how you fell and you WILL feel a whole hell of a lot. It's not easy and it's not supposed to be.
I remember when I witnessed police brutality against my mother when I was seven and and I had never had a violent thought in my life (I was VERY sheltered...my mom thought the Smurfs were violent. Uber pacifist. Tried to give me as wholesome a life as she could) and my FIRST thought was "I will fucking kill you if you touch her again" and launched myself between me and them and it took two of them to rip me away from her. They had to figure out I got a hand on the handcuff chain. Like Thors, she didn't fight back. She behaved herself to save me from seeing more. My instinct, deep down, was to protect without thinking and regardless of cost. Her's was to preserve at any cost. Her own way of protecting me.
The whole night...and for years after...I had thoughts of revenge. No actual attempts, because that's not what she would have wanted. She would have been like Thors. She would have hated for me to spend my life in jail because of a bunch of corrupt cops that wanted to take advantage of a single woman in a small hick town. They didn't kill her, but...somedays...they might as well have. Most days she fought like hell to overcome it...but many times I had to talk her out of suicide. A child shouldn't have to do that. We never got justice and never will because we can't prove anything now. I can't prove anything. To this day, he is still venerated in that hick town. He ruined my life and I've been pretending to be normal ever since.
To this day, if I ever had a gun in my hand and them in my sights and I knew I could get away with it...I wouldn't. I couldn't. How could I dishonor the belief and hope she had for me? Do I still desire karma? Yes. Did I get any? No. Does that eat at my soul 30 years later every day of my life? Absolutely. Do I have blood on my hands? Not even a drop. That's my mother winning even if her body never fully healed.
Their reason? She didn't want to date one of the cops.
If I had given in even once, that would have been it for my life in one way or another.

Season one is over...season two isn't expected to come out in 2020...I'm caught up to the manga and read it twice...guess I'll be reading it a third time. Also watching this AMV probably dozens of times over since it's so amazing - next time I recommend Vinland Saga to someone I'll totally have them watch this AMV to get hooked

@@yourmajesty6678 I suppose that depends on what genres you like. If/when it comes out, the second season won't have as many action scenes because it's more about Thorfinn discovering and deciding a new life path for himself
