hi Bob my wind tunnel was very low budget project funded by my college., so i used limited resources to make this. fan outer diameter is 1.2 meter and test section velocity i got with this fan about 9 m/s.used 2.2 KW 3 hp ac 3 phase motor. thanks for interest my email anutech13@gmail.com

Considered MAYBE putting a grating over the fan as to avoid possible accidental injury if it wouldn't affect airflow?

The function of gratings over fans in wind tunnels is to straighten and laminarize the airflow.
