      In the era of the video 1995, this weapon was referred to as the 84mm Short Range Anti-Armour Weapon (SRAAW-Medium) the Eryx System was the SRAAW-Heavy( and the M72-C7 was the SRAAW_Light.

      We had lots of Rds on my TQ3 then I went to wpns det and later served in AAPl. My hearing was noticeably fading at 43. I was paid out for hearing loss by 48. I soon developed inner ear problems. I wore ear def and plugs 90 per cent when firing. Take care of yourselves troops. My inner ear issues are mentally and physically challenging. CG is a great system regardless. 1946 and still ticking along!

      Your comment successfully irritated myself, as I strive to keep as much original information from the VHS copied into these uploads. Therefore, I searched for the original tape to verify the information.
      The VHS has "The Carl Gustav M3 Rocket Launcher" on both its cover and tape. Therefore, the name will stay for historical preservation.

      @@A_Ryan I spent 35 years in the Canadian infantry. Earnst humpry is correct. It is NOT a 'rocket launcher'. It is a recoilless rifle. The VHS trg video is wrong. It was common for people to refer to equipment and weapons systems by incorrect nick names. This should have been caught by whoever reviewed the video. It was likely made in conjunction with the Public Affairs Branch (who don't know all that much about the finer points of weapon terminology) and may have been put together using a civilian contractor.
      Whoever wrote the script should be smacked. Whoever proof read the script should be smacked. I was hoping to catch some names in the credits but they were cut off. The fact that most of the participants are Vandoos may have something to do with proper terminology being 'lost in translation'.

    • @digitalprismatics
      @digitalprismatics 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@A_Ryan That's your choice of course. But using incorrect terminology does not lend you much technical credence, any more than referring to a tank gun, as a 'fire-stick.'
