so me and Steve headed for the BIG BEACH just to use up some nice black lug I had for the previous trip to the Bristol channel we didn't intend to fish for cod but oh well I won't turn them away lol don't forget to subscribe 😉

Awesome video of chisel beach congratulations on the Cod and your friends PB conger eel of 4lb can not wait to see your next visit to the fantastic chisel beach and see you catch some very Big Cod I have been fishing the North East Coast where I live I have had some small Cod and whiting but hopefully very soon the Bigger Cod will turn up tight lines always and happy fishing 🎣 🎣🎣

Great video! Blacks will catch more when they are a few days old and getting sticky. I used to freeze them at 4 days wrapped in cling film. they last for years in the freezer. I would back my sticky frozen blacks against fresh any night!

Nice one Rhys, you should have kept the cod to improve your filleting skills. Just joking. we all had to learn. I cut my teeth on Dungie when the fishing was good back in the 70's. Cod after cod from the beach up to 20 plus. Also fishing out on the boats from there for the big cod 30 and upwards. I see from TH-cam that it's a shadow of its former self. Now, living in Oregon by the coast, the filleting is more precise on salmon for the smoker, halibut for canning as well as tuna.You always know when the tuna are closer than 60 miles out, as the canning gear is sold out in the stores. Well, enjoy your winter fishing, I will be back out there once I get my buck and elk to fill up the freezer with real organic meat.

Lost a lot of bigger fish, 50lb snoods bitten through grrr

Nice fish mate, I honestly don't know why people assume there will be no cod on Chesil when the water is clear, as soon as the sun goes down you will get them clear or dirty water, had some of my best cod sessions in the clear water nights...
