Maye is an elite athlete, with elite size, who can process information really quickly and you can already see his footwork is night and day better. The only way he doesn’t succeed is if the organization is so inept they are incapable of ever putting any talent around him. Every team in need of a QB was on the phone with the patriots all spring trying to get the pick to draft Maye and those teams have great offensive minds like daboll and o’connel. No, it is the fact the kid looked comfortable, he changed 2 plays at the line and he has a cannon arm and is accurate which was an improvement over 1st pre-season game. Everybody knew he needed work on mechanics, footwork etc. This kid will be the real deal as long as Mayo doesn't rush him in there with a suspect oline. If PATS put him in there only if they can protect him.
Honestly, his performance in the preseason doesn't really mean anything to me. We need to see him play in the regular season which is why benching him for an entire season would be a colossal waste of evaluation time and rookie contract
