Thank you for sharing this beautiful album. I discovered Jazz is Dead back in 2001 and I always felt like I was the only one who knew about them. What a wonderful secret to keep but I always wanted to share it with everyone! Nearly 20 years later, I am still listening and being fascinated by the wonder of it. ♥
Just found them today, I absolutely love jazz fusion and the Dead so imagine my surprise to hear this! Incredible music, incredible lineup of musicians. I feel blessed to have accidentally stumbled across this
Hey, I'm the first comment on something! Not sure how these guys have stayed under the radar. Back in the mid 2000's I worked at a gas station and a customer gave this cd to me, along with dozens of GD shows. I never got around to listening to this until I stumbled upon it years later. This whole thing is pure joy, I love it.
Brilliantly done, effortlessly eclipsing all other attempts. Arrestingly precise musician ship, sailing on waves of focused accomplishment. The last piece is astonishing!!!!!!

Pierre Robert on 93.3 WMMR uses Eyes of the World on his show as background music for his news n info, that's what led me here. Sadly the fun police in the u r u b e copy rite dept flaggd that song. I found my favorite best Dead tune ever, so all isn't lost: Weather Report Suite (sweet!) Still puts an apple in my throat every time!
@@JUANCARPENTERO they did turn on your love light (technically a bobby bland song, but the dead played it a ton) with Bobby and Chris Robinson and they do sugaree sometimes!

Well Pierre from MMR just sets me way back to when i was Dancen in Phila - I love this record - the Music just keeps Evolving ........... !!!
Is the sun suppose to be Frank Zappa? He had that quote, "Jazz is not dead, it just smells funny."
Wow, this is the best I've ever heard Grateful Dead music played, bar none. I'm sorry, but it is... They need to come to Seattle.
They're currently on tour, but it's a totally different band. I'd love to see this line-up again.
@@aallen6408 yes, aware of that. Not so thrilled with the electric banjo... Tiring after a few minutes. It's a gimmick.
Already have Great Sky River. A solid fun album.
This is amazing
Just heard this version of eyes of the world on Pandora today. Incredible
Still AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!

your ears are not lying to you

@@JUANCARPENTERO they do! Sugaree
I’ll be the judge of whether this is any good….you can’t just play Grateful Dead music instrumentally and call it “jazz”…
@paulferranti8536 you mean for yourself, you'll JUDGE it, right? ; )
@@marysalvi242 I was joking…I love Jimmy Herring
@@paulferranti8536 I "sorta" thought so, that's why I put the wink. words have no emotions; well, poems, song lyrics.. take care~
What a great tune we got here.
