I appreciate you sprinkling little clips of what you were doing as you converted areas to Planetary Logistics and expanded the power grid. It was just enough to make sure I got the gist of how you were handling it. After this video I think I can understand how to use these to make nicer builds.
I was just about to say it, I think it's the first time Nilaus does that kind of miniclips of the off camera work, and I loved it. It was a nice detail! Quick edit: It also helps us appreciate all the work and the effort that goes behind camera
I just figured out something amazing that you all should know! I was messing around with fractionators, the pilers, and sprayers I figured out that first, fractionators are affected by sprayed hydrogen, adding a full 1% at level 3, fractionators also do not slow down belts that have stacked hydrogen, allowing for up to 4x the throughput through fractionators, with these combined with your 64 fractionator blueprint for example you get an average of around 153 per second before accounting for the loss from previous fractionators. Id expect you could reasonably get 120 deuterium per second with your 64 fractionator blueprint.
Converting to drones is SO nice in this game! I remember playing my first game at the same time as a friend, I said "hmmm... maybe I'll do everything with drones". Answer: "Nah, I don't think they are designed to get a good enough throughput" - And we both were kinda surprised how well it worked! One mistake I found: The output box for graphene is still a collecting box and not giving out products to the logistic tower. (Hope I saw that right) Thank you as always Nilaus. I love this content!
Proliferating drones only speedups up production, it doesn't give bonus items. same for Logistics ships, ILS and orbit collectors . So proliferation is probably not worth it
my factorio brain couldn't figure out that I was supposed to transition to bots logistics to unspagettify in this game and I was faithfully continuing my mission of placing thousands of belts across the planet before I saw this vid
I agree with the sentiment of some comments here, the addition of small clips for your timelapse of setting up the logistics is really nice. Keeps us informed of the small changes to your planet as well.
Loving this achievement run! I just completed Data Rules Everything Around Me (1 million hash/sec) using your research planet concept from your first play through.
cant wait for the yellow research cubes episode. i have had so long break from this game this is like a tutorial for me to get back into game remembering everything again. also with this blueprints being totally new to me and profiliator so a lot of interesting new stuff to learn. I am a bit behind on my playtrough as i not even had chance to visit second planet yet thanks to working 12 hour long shifts over a week now every day so leaves me extremely low ammount of time to play. Lucky i have night shifts coming up so that means i have to stay up late and finally i can spend a lot of hours gaming so i will see if i can progress past these videos :D
You are the bestest of the best! I love all of your video playthrough! Especially, Dyson Sphere Programm! God, please give to Nilaus 10 millions subscribers!
I did just the same with my long runs of conveyors when sorting out a main copper foundry. Really enjoying this, just a quicky. Grab a little bit of each fuel as you go for Icarus, just bumps the achievement along. Doesn't even need to be a stack, so long as some is burned. I've got up to 11 out of 15 so far. Loving watching my little drone hoard pootling about, hee.
What I'm gathering from watching these episodes is that my builds are all just way too small. When I need to build a new item, I set up enough stuff to have like 2-3 buildings making the final product. Meanwhile, Nilaus here is setting up like 12 to get 3-4 per second.
For you to paste blueprints whenever there's like one or two that you can't paste down, there's a mod called BPTweaks that forces you to place down blueprints even if it's not pastable, and will just remove the ones that could not be placed
@@Nilaus That mod doesn't affect achievements at all as it doesn't do anything extra, just allows you to do some things you normally can't do. Being able to paste without worrying about foundation is very nice.
I used the poles for power. Especially close to the thermal generation- put a bunch of click drag wind poles and then click dragged the empty space with solar. A lot quicker than the blueprint method i think - up to 350 mw
Nilaus, some places I noticed that your having a jam-up to get to the logistic stations on some raw materials. Have you thought about the 'stacker' so you can put more things on a line?
Woohoo! New video. Nilaus, what do you use for a rig? My Pc starts to implode once I have a few systems and planets covered. Chugging along at 18-20fps. I am not one to care about the raw FPS but I feel it chugging.

I will be making pink things later on today. Finished my yellow science yesterday need to set the drones up for that crack on to finish items for the interpolator stations once the yellow science is flowing thorough :) Need to do a bit of profaration too :)
Hi man, good to see a new vid! :D All so, why dont you run the generators on oil? Since oil is unlimited and then you do not have to waste ur coal. Just a though, take care!
Oil rate halves every 24h of continuous extraction (down to 0.1/s which is super slow) While infinite, it gets slow quickly if you burn it early in the game
You should try the LowResourceChallenge mod. You have to build small and efficient, use batch processing, etc. Just don't use the .01 multiplier setting... The starter system runs out of resources before you can get warp and the next system is a looong flight.
@@ymblcza2557 but you'd have to skip interstellar logistics... that's fine as a challenge, but a nomadic playthru wouldn't make for good videos I think.
Will proliferated proliferation substance keep its proliferation when it is transferred with a drone? If not, you should remove self-proliferation and do it post-logistics.
Yes, items keep their proliferation when transferred by drone (or later by logistics vessel). For example I proliferate all my proliferator material when it's made, before it enters a tower for distribution and it's all still proliferated when delivered to towers around the planet or on other planets. However if the drones/vessels bring in a mix of proliferated and non-proliferated items then that lowers your effectiveness. So if you proliferate pre-transport be sure you're proliferating every source of that item.
@@Nilaus Honestly… yea kinda. This game is awesome and I’d love to see all the aspects of it! BUT!! I’d like to have seen the process of what you did to get everything you needed because there are a lot of different materials you’d need to craft drones and stations and getting them all together would be interesting.
I have a suggestion. I've also built my factories in one central location and let the drones do the work. However, I believe that it is far more effective if you build a small factory for each component that only requests the raw materials and everything is built there on site. Has the advantage that you have a much better overview of the basic resources consumed. If you're interested, I'm in the process of creating some blueprints that cover that for each phase in the game, so I'd be happy to share them with you.
i rush looking for the Drone build blueprint and ...nothing that is unfair lol my startup system is even worst then yours no lava so i need to go out of sistem asap or i run out of everything important at start like iron, copper and coal ..
I missed it at some point: how do you copy and paste smelters and assemblers with the sorters? I can only find references to the mod, but I thought mods weren't being used in this achievement run.
It used to require the mod CopyInserters but the functionality got added to the base game months ago. Just Monika has it correct; use shift+click to copy the building + sorters; then click to paste. (Or click and drag to paste a line of them; using Tab to adjust spacing)
Proliferation drones engines is pointless unless you care about more speed crafting drones, cuz there won't be option to increase output quantity. Cheers 🖐
You can. But assuming proliferator Mk.I you're spending 1/12th of a coal for 12.5% more iron ingot, copper ingot, etc. And Nilaus pointed out you've got more of those than you've got of coal, so it's not necessarily a good tradeoff. (Though it is a slight win to proliferate your coal) And the Mk.II is even worse if you're making diamonds from coal - as you get a 20% production bonus but now spend 4 coal to make each proliferator - though at least proliferating your proliferator is now a net win; unlike with Mk.I.
is there still nothing like "personal logistic drones" in that game (equal to factorio)? 80% of my play time I run around and search for the required materials for building stuff :( thats really unefficient and boring. these small rotating planets make it even harder to remember the locations of my factories and products. would be great to get some quality of life patches for that amazing game...
