I can see alot of westerners talking about health and safety rules here so let me tell you one thing majority of the goods imported by western countries comes from developing nations they cut corners to make exports more profitable for them its upto their buyers to force them to play by rules or at least general population in western countries demand to implement those standards to importers

This prevent using petroleum, to make new plastic. Plastic is byproduct of crude petroleum, which is highly toxic and contributes to global warming. The recycling also takes plastic out of garbage dumps, and helps save World's ocean and marine life, where a lot of plastic waste ends up anyway. The best way is to eliminate plastic completely and replace it with something biodegradable, but till then recycling plastic is 2nd best option.
