I will be presenting a mechanical overview of air cooled chillers in commercial hvac applications. This hvac training will provide a basic understanding of components, refrigeration cycle, and design of common systems. If your looking to grow as an hvac technician this is a great starting point.

These videos that you make are awesome. Great refreshers or study material (depending on where one is in their career), and I will/am taking full advantage of all of this.along with everyone else, thank you for your time and energy you put into these videos, especially with your team in the background to hear their questions. Both things I feel make more powerful videos than just reading a book or listening to a “lecture”.

Man thank you brother i have a mammoth air cooled chiller and all 3 of my banks the scrolls were running low saturations at 30 and tripping on low pressure to find out that some guy went happy on my flow valves and opened them all the way!

Please look up digi scroll Operation, the unload solenoid acts as a pilot valve to lift the top of the scroll head.

So, the chiller runs or should run critically damped ? No undershoot or overshoot.

So on the screw I’m guessing as it slides back it opens up and reduces the compression basically slowing down discharge velocity and reducing discharge pressure. Basically like the the quench area between the valves and piston on a combustion engine ?

So, the eductor uses the vapor's energy to accelerate and inject flow to the motor oil circuit like the water injectors on a steam engine use steam to inject water to the boiler?

In a dual circuit brazed plate heat exchanger, are the refrigerant circuits isolated from one another?

So oil separator is basically a suction line accumulator with a return line.

@@HVACTIME I really appreciate you. I’m 42 and recently quit my cushy school board Maintenace tech job to go work for a big mechanical company and I want to do the best I can. You content will help me succeed along with good work ethics and determination.

The eductor must create a Venturi effect.

    • @moonlightacmaintenance3232

It seems that it’s design is to basically create a turbulence to keep whatever oil that’s made it way through the system from separating from the refrigerant so it will make its way back to the suction side of the compressor. (Stratification) could be wrong just a guess.
