I would rather barely survive in an abandoned cabin on a lone ridge than suffer a hateful drunk. I'm glad this story turned out so well. Glory to God 🙏🏻☦️
You both sound lucky, I and 1000’s more weren’t so lucky. I stopped drinking way back when, I realized I was becoming “them” ! By the time I was 13/14 years, I was running away from them. Fully out by 16! No, the pain the hurt never really goes away. At 60, I still hurt.
Seems so easy for some to start an occasional drink, then find they can't stop. My advice to young people, don't start. It's like a vacuum, it will suck you in, and ruin your, and others lives.
My deddy got sober the day after I was born and stayed sober for 16 years until one weekend he went on a fishing trip with some men; some he had known for years and others he didn’t really know that well and one of the guys who he didn’t really know had asked him if he wanted a beer and he told’m no. But he came back a little while later on and asked him again, saying “one won’t hurt”. Now I’m not at all trying to blame this man for the choices my deddy made, but it just makes me wonder sometimes what our lives would’ve been like had that man never went on that fishing trip. Because it was about a year and a half later when my mama and deddy were divorced and then two years later he passed away; he had drank himself to death. He passed away with a broken heart because my mama was the love of his life (they were married for 29 years) and when she left him, he basically just gave up. My deddy was a good man and he’d give anyone the shirt off his back to help them. And when he drank, people would take advantage of him and take all of his money and they’d have him to sign checks of his that they’d write out from his checkbook. I could sit here and go on and on about how he was when he was sober and how he was when he was drinking, but I won’t bore y’all. I just wanted to share how easily alcohol can ruin someone’s entire life, because it sure did ruin mine. Rest in peace deddy
My first wife, loved horses. She was into barrel racing and english riding. We lived on a ranch in Queen Creek Arizona. One day, my wife was out practicing her barrel race skills on her favorite horse for competion in a Pecan tree grove, There were pecan trees for miles out in East Valley Pheonix. A javalina took her horse by surprise and bucked, causing my wifes head to hit a pecan tree branch, breaking her neck and killed her. I moved here near Bulls Gap Tn, living off grid 3 years ago, there is some kind of spirit through these wood, helping me mend my broken heart. Locals dont understand me...the hills, the trees, the woods have become my sancuary. These stories heal my heart, that im not alone. while i await heaven to see my love again.
@liamalepta8003 OMG!!! IM SO SO SORRY BABY!!! THATS JUST TOO SAD!!! GEEZ!!! MY SISTER HAD HORSES AND ONE WAS PARTICULARLY MEAN. IT SCARED MY MAMA TO DEATH!!! ONE DAY FOR SOME REASON I CANT REMEMBER THAT HORSE BOLTED AND RAN UNDER A TREE BRANCH AND KNOCKING HER OFF. SHE JUST LAID THERE. MY NEXT TO OLDEST BROTHER SAW IT OUT HIS WINDOW. HE LIVED RIGHT BESIDE THE PASTURE WHERE SHE KEPT IT. HED RAN OUT AND BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF THAT HORSE WHICH WOKE SIS UP & SHE WENT TO BEATING ON HIM. BUT THAT WAS THE END OF SIS & THAT ONE. MY UNCLE HAD GOTTEN IT FOR SIS & WHEN HE FOUND OUT HE HAD A MAN WITH OTHER LIVESTOCK & A TRAILOR THERE PICKIN UP OLE DAISY MAY BEFORE HER & SIS KNEW WHAT WAS HAPPENING!!! UNCLE SOLD HER & USED THE MONEY FOR THE CAR JUDY WAS WANTING. SHES 63 NOW & HASNT BEEN ABLE TO RIDE FOR YEARS BUT UP UNTIL SHE WASVIN HER 40S SHED JUMP ON ANY HORSE THAT ANYONE IN THE FAMILY EVER GOT . SHE WAS JUST FEARLESS WHEN IT CAME TO ANIMALS. SHE HAD EVERY KIND EXCEPT A SMAKE . EVERYONE CALLED HER ELLIE MAY CLAMPETT. SHE WAS AN ANIMAL WHISPERER. COME TO FIND OUT THAT HORSE HAD BEEN RE HOMED NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE SHE GOT HER AND SHE WAS ALWAYS A CRAZY BITCH. I was always scared of them. Everyone would tell me to ride this one. It's an old nag who all the kids ride which id watched them do. But the second I got on it..... It would just go nuts!!! They're just too big for me to fight with. Id take a car over that horse any day. She got a collector Mustang. It would be worth a fortune today. I'd Ride THAT Pony. It's what I learned to drive. My brother spent 1969 in Veit Nam & had some money saved & got a 65 Mustang. He taught me to drive in that.
Another great story of the power of prayer and the kindness of good people. It's amazing how drink changes people to be so dark and evel, but faith in the Lord can overcome all.
My mom stayed . From the age of 10-20 I watched them fight , she stabbed him near the heart with a steak knife and I can still hear his big heavy body hit the ground . He would shoot guns off in the house and tell us what he could do to us . Every other day for 10 plus years . The fear I grew up with . My mom set the perfect example of endurance … I can put up with most anything now and never know when it’s time to call it quits .
@jetv1471. I'm so sorry you had to endure that especially as a child. You might be interested in googling Victor Marx and possibly even watching the free TH-cam movie of his life "The Victor Marx Story". He was terribly abused and scarred as a child but as an adult he became a martial arts expert who visits teens in detention that call him Pappy. After many struggles he finally found the peace that comes from our Lord and Savior. I hope you have peace as well. 🙏
I totally enjoyed this story. I love the Lord too. This is relaxing and sweet. God is our provider and protector. He has always been there for me. Peace!
