The great deed of Moses was reciprocated. Always lend a hand folks, sometimes it's not your biological who truly appreciates your efforts. The man who rescued me always reminded me how I was always there for him.
Nothing I can do for you can outshine what you did for me, I would tell the old man. He left with a smile to the never return from place.
This is a wonderful story. You did a great job of telling it. Land grabbers are bad people; and, some people still do take other people's lands and homes. Just last spring my new neighbor tried to take the biggest part of my yard. I'm an old, white haired, woman. I think he thought he could get away with it (by setting up playground equipment on my ground, while bullying me). However, I visited my insurance company, the records office, the Sheriff's Department, and the Builder's office early the very next day. After he received a letter from the Builder, and a visit from the Sheriff, he should now know that he has no chance of taking my land. The whole acre, house, free standing metal carport, and storage building will be sold together when I am ready (or by my children after I am dead). He did not offer to buy the land he tried to take.

I'm glad he didn't succeed. Beg your pardon but I pray that he meets someone who takes something of his to let him know how it feels to be wronged.
What amazes me is people like that don’t wind up in jail for elder abuse and other crimes . Our society isn’t right for just letting these people walk . They need to spend time in jail . All those that help them need to spend time in jail .
Good for you! Just because you were older he probably thought he could just bull doze you. Well... The surprise was on him! I am currently attempting to pursue legally a person "selling" me property that was Not his to sell. The actual owner never even approached me! I found out while checking out things at the courthouse. He knew I had placed a cabin on that land. Needless to say, he ripped me off as well. Under the guise of being a well meaning "Christian." I am so happy for you!!!!

This story right here is why it’s of the utmost importance to tell your past. If your grandfather, who has a little time left, wants to set you down and tell you a story you ought to listen. The stories might not be important to the ripples of time of anyone on this earth except you and your kin but they need told. We cannot lose any more history of who we are or where we come from and how we got here, no matter what your race religion creed is! these stores that need told. no matter how heartbreaking or how full of glory they are they need told. Too many encyclopedias of life or dying off without telling their stories no matter how mundane they may seem.

Excellent story & well told. I'm in my 70's-Grandparents were all born in the 1800's. One Granny was from the Appalachian mountains of "Kaintucky." She could tell some stories. For sure.

I'm so glad I took the time to watch this documentary. It reminded me of the stories that my grand and great grandparents use to share with me and my seven siblings. As a matter of fact the house looked similar to what we lived in until 1969, in a place called Bunnell, Fl. It was a rebuilt slave quarters called "The Mill" on Highway 100. The houses are gone now and no one ever built on the land after we and the other settlers left. It enlightens me still to know that GOD will always show up maybe not when we want him to but always when we need him to. Thank you for sharing such an amazing story. Be always abundantly blessed❣

My mom took in many children some forgot three never did but the ones that forgot mom was so good to they ignore her give praises to someone that was never there these kids were so grateful been through a lot like the ones mom took(except some of them are not grateful) and even two separate families yes she did I so appreciate stories and memories like this and I told mom don't worry God knows they all will answer for it and Jared your right sometimes people like us on here are better and more like family than your actual family this is such a wonderful loving memory what a heart he had he's definitely in heaven all of them next to thy father and thy son waiting brought back memories of my mom and tears to my eyes people like this are true angels in earth my mawmaw was same way to maybe one day you and Donnie can do a story my mawmaw could get any wildlife or feral cat to come to her any bird to Mr Moses and ones like him ill say it again gifts from God true angels aint got to walk into a church to be a Christian or one of gods people ones like this walk in gods path

Being a Nurse of 40 plus years I have learned volumes from my elders! It was a true honor to have known them and be their Nurse!! So many stories to tell! It was a blessing to listen to each and every one!! My Aunt was a McCoy of the infamous Hatfields and McCoys she always had stories to tell!! I've been blessed with volumes of knowledge from ballerina dancers,river boat captains to our Veterans some who have fought in all three wars WW 2,Korea,and Vietnam! I couldn't even imagine one war rather on three! I wish i couldve recorded every one!! This elder generation has integrity,grit and unshakable faith in Almighty God which got them thru their physical illnesses late in life!! What an Honor!! Everyone has a story to tell we just have to stop what we are doing and truly listen!! God Bless you for doing so Jared!! The Lord Is So Good!!!
