Also would be nice if, when in slice mode, each chop had its own separate start and end point. That way, adjusting the endpoint of one chop wouldn’t affect the starting point of another. Im sure upcoming updates can correct this. I’m really loving the Lofi XT 12 glad I copped it
You can pitch the overall slice sample, but you have to leave pad-mode. On the page with the waveform shown just turn the B-knob or press it for changing pitch in bars. Version 1.1 (but I saw it on your screen as well).
The other day I found the first sample that I recorded, it was on my 404 sx, I had no idea how to use it and the sample was not from a song, it was an audio from one of your tutorials, I did not record it to make a beat with it, I recorded it because I was testing how to record it, one day I will give you the moment, greetings from Santa Cruz Bolivia, and thank you very much for the support to all the beatmakers in the world (sorry my english)
From what I've found, as soon as you switch the sample to 'slice' it defaults to its original pitch even if you have repitched it using the machine. It would be great if you could either repitch the whole thing there even after chopping, or make a function like i mentioned to repitch all chops at the same time.
Thank you for this! 🙌🏼 really bummed out you still can’t slice a loop equally, was annoyed by this on the original SMPLTrek (have been requesting this from Sonicware since the release), being a novice in chopping samples this is a real workflow-killer.😮💨 But anyways, great video!👌🏼
Thanks for this. Very helpful. It would have been even more helpful and easier to follow had you been working with a royalty-free sample from the offset. But still a good and useful tutorial. Thanks.
Great video! Really helpful. Is there an external source function like the SP ? If I had drums playing can I audition sounds from external source, vinyl for example ? 👍
Hey man yeah you can listen to the signal coming into the unit while you are playing a pattern. There is an option to turn external monitoring on or off in the sample area, and that can be accessed while a pattern is playing.
yes, instead of choosing slice, you choose POLY and then when you go into the PAD area it turns the pads into a chromatic keyboard and you can input multiple notes at the same time.
@spvidz hey thanks for responding..I think it was a problem with my SD card I took it out and put it back in and now it's saving correctly..but the subject still needs to be talked about because saving is really confusing..love your videos..thanks again
Why cant you just come out of slice mode to pitch the sample and then go back in to slice mode so you don't have to pitch each slice? The XT is such a super dope little box...terrible timing though as unfortunately its going to probably be forgotten with the MPC 3.0 software....its going to dominate social media for sure and the XT will probably become a novelty. Hopefully it gets enough attention for some updates to get some of the wrinkles worked out
For some reason the pitch has no effect once you set the sample to slice mode. Be great if you could do what you said or what I describe in the video. Hopefully it comes in an update at some point 🤞

Yesss, I think that would be 'non-destructive slicing' that would be nice!
Thank you and yes, more XT vids please! IT's a scrappy sleeper for sure, i really want to further explore ITs live improv jam capabilities 🙏🤙🎶

I've tried that and nothing happened to the chops. I think I need to hop on to the latest software version as someone else said that works too

No way that’s funny! Thanks for the comment 🙌
Nice video. I have to go back on the XT and check out if there's a workaround for the global pitch.

Yeah there are certainly a few things that could do with being changed on this device, particularly with the slicing area

It is royalty free but you still get problems on TH-cam with it. Just the way it is with sampling on this platform unfortunately

Thanks ! Much appreciated, getting mine soon! 👍
I’ve been complaining about changing the pitch since the first smpltrek even sent an update request…..
I’m definitely going to drop them an email about that, it would vastly improve that area
If you were to play a sample on pad mode. Can you make e.g tri ad chords? If so does that use up 3 tracks? Or just one track?

can you do a video on how to save ..ive lost every track ive done so far ....pleeeeeeeeeeeeease
When I get back to the XT videos, I'll include that yeah 👍

@@spvidz Can do this on my unit on version 1.1
Thanks for the video. Always love the content
