@@maxpower8916 Aside from Otis, the rest of the family seems to be alot like Spaulding, they will be friendly or let you do as you please and come and go, so long as you don't cross them, piss them off, or offend them. This isn't the case for the sequels of course but that would be due to the fact they are on the run and far less settled and have no cares in the world. Here in this film while they had their own terms they seem to have been more tolerable of others sometimes while showing mercy and not harming some people.
not a chance, they had a chance at spaulding to say okay nevermind then when he said that nothing good waits for them at the tree, the moment they headed out in the direction spaulding gave them spaulding alerted the rest of the family, then that bear guy shot their tires and everything just to give them a reason to have to go to the house. letting them leave after wasnt part of their plan most of the family obviously love killing
