@carvingCode thank you so much for watching and the kind words. I bet you can't wait for June to get here 😀. Are you going full time in June? Where are you heading first? Dan
@@RiversToRidgesRV Yes, full-time in June. Selling house and goods in May. Plan is to spend 3 months in Wisconsin, then move to South Dakota for a few weeks, then down to Texas for Fall and Arizona for Winter. Might see you down the road. Peace.

I watched your video this morning after receiving our softener yesterday. OH My Goodness! Just hooked ours up...the water out of the hydrant after our inline green filter was at the upper end of hard water at this campground. No wonder my zero water filters were lasting less than 10 days...6 minutes later after hooking up, it was between 0-2 gpg. An hour later after letting a ton of water run, running the water heater to cold, my fixtures and sinks have been scrubbed of most of the scale that had built up the last year with baking soda and lemon juice. I sanitized/flushed the freshwater system/lines on Tuesday and still felt like I could smell/taste chlorine. The water doesn't smell now so it must have been the chlorine from the water supply...a well...in the Shenandoah Valley of VA.Absolutely worth every penny. My two stage filters from Clearsource come Friday so by Saturday morning I will hopefully be drinking from the tap...great review!
I actually have this I used on our boat for a few years we now have a class a pusher I’m about to start using on we had great results using on the go !!! Thanks for the vid

Just put one in line with my Clearsourse ultra water filtering system. Works great . Like you said you can definitely feel the difference in the water. Only issue I had was in some parks the water pressure is not high enough, so water pressure in the RV especially in the shower was very low. I put in a high pressure shower head problem solved. Very happy with my purchase. Thanks for the video
We have a permanent site for summer months use as well. We love our new On The Go water softener. What we aren't sure about after 3 weeks is that if we leave for a week to go home or elsewhere in our vehicle, only do we drain the water softener or just leave it as is? Any feedback would be appreciated, and thank you.
Hey Jim, we have the On The Go softener and love it. I'm sure if you shop around there are other brands as well. Please let us know if you purchase one and which brand you got? I'd love to hear of the differences if you don't get an On The Go softener. Dan
We only use the inline filter that came with the RV and another filter we attach to the hose. Never really had any issues with "contaminated" water but we might eventually get a better filter system. We use the water softener just to soften the water, not to filter out contaminants. thanks for the comment @sjeffreyw Dan
Hey Christian - You're so welcome. You're going to love it! We still can't get over the difference in our water! Thanks for watching & writing in. Have a great week & safe travels.😊

Welcome to full-time RV living - hopefully you guys are enjoying it as much as we are! Tucson, AZ sounds like a beautiful place to winter! We didn't make it to AZ this year but we definitely plan on it probably not next year but the following year. We just got back to FL where we will be wintering & will be reuniting with our family in less than a week - can't wait for that! You gave us a great tip for a follow-up video! We love the idea of doing a video on the reverse cleaning/adding salt steps! We think we will definitely do that - thanks so much for the tip! I have had a water softener in my brick and wood house for many many years, over 35 years and one way I can tell that I need to add salt is when I take my morning shower is when I run the soap over my skin it feels like my hand doesn't glide over my skin but acts like I am running my hand over a rough side walk and it just doesn't glide like when the water is soft
Hey Pius Horning - Yes, we know exactly what you are talking about! The difference is totally unreal! Since we now know what we were missing, we'll never go without a water softener again! Not only is it so much easier to clean and leaves less water spots, our skin looks & feels so much more hydrated and so much better! Thanks for taking the time to watch & write in! We're so happy to hear from you! Have a great rest of your week! Stay safe!😊 Dan & Deena
Hey Chem, no, not at all. Just turn the canister upside-down and let the water drain out from the 'IN' and 'OUT' ports. DO NOT remove the top or you may loose your resin. Before using the next time, just hit the bottom of the canister on the ground a couple of times to 're-pack' the resin. We are still amazed at how much we love ours.
We are snowbirds. When at home during the summer months, can I hook this up to our outdoor spigot when washing our vehicles to avoid hard water spotting? Would I need to hook up a filter first? I thought maybe a camco blue torpedo filter to the spigot, then a short hose to the softener and then a short hose to my Karcher 1700PSI pressure washer and out to my foam cannon and finally, remove the foam cannon and rinse off my vehicle. What do you think?
The timing for your question couldn't be better. We are actually working on a video to review the On-The-Go Deionizer. A water softener won't get rid of spotting, it doesn't remove all the dissolved solids that cause spotting. That's where a deionizer comes in, it does exactly what you're looking for. Our deionizer video will be out in a few weeks, but if you want to learn more about them, you can check them out here: www.portablewaterdi.com/ We will also have a discount code once the video comes out in case you're looking to purchase one.

I am considering purchasing this . However , on Amazon the negative reviews talk about how it does not last after a couple months for full timers . I am curious if it is still working great for you ?
@kathleenblumenthal493 We are full timers and use ours everyday, never had a problem with it. There is a resin inside the water softener that needs to be 'regenerated' every couple of months depending on how hard the water is. Part of the normal process of softening the water is to remove calcium and magnesium (ions) from the water, these ions get attracted to the resin inside the softener. At some point the resin gets saturated and can't attract more ions. At this point you have to do a 'regeneration', which is basically adding salt to your water softener. We did a video on how we regenerate our water softener that you can watch here: th-cam.com/video/XcKbmEligrE/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps you Dan
Hey RH63 - We use the On The Go strips but that's a good question. We'll update this response if we change or hear from others accordingly. Thanks for watching & writing in. Safe travels!
Hello @MrMrmagoo18, thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. I'm not sure what you mean by the 'white' tank, my only guess is the water filter located in our wet bay. The water softener is used to remove hard solids like magnesium and calcium to make the water softer for showers and better on plumbing. The white tank you see in our wet bay is just a water filter to remove particles, it only makes the water safer for drinking but does not make the water softer. We use both together. Hope this helps Dan

@danielhernandezjr9606 here is the response I received from On The Go: The deionizer would only be for washing the RV to get a spot free rinse. You would not need to run the 3 stage before a deionizer. The softener is not always helpful before a deionizer, as it does not always lower the TDS. The three stage should go before the softener if possible and it would not interfere with the three stage in any location.
