I tend to cry everytime I watch this video... I can't believe I was there, I came all the way from Finland just to see Peter. That gig was epic, I've never cried so much yet been so happy at the same time.
im thrilled to know that wherever i am practicing, strumming my guitar, this man is playing too, somewhere. a brilliant, poetic voice being heard across the globe - doesn't get more inspiring than that
@rodnisimo Hi! Somehow we (the US) missed out on the whole Libertines - then Babyshambles and Dirty Pretty Things ride. I'll never figure that out! Hope you have looked up and listened to more since you watched this.... Best lyrics, music and hope for rock and roll in a loooong time! You are in for some serious FUN catching up with these guys! Shouting out from Maryland!
the libertines went to new york in 2003. quite a significant trip - the babyshambles sessions were recorded, the most iconic of all the demo sessions probably. supposedly recorded in their hotel room, then pete gave the files in some form (2003? must have been cd?) to a fan in the foyer to upload. a totally revolutionary idea at the time, later copied by arctic monkeys and lily allen who are now often wrongly attributed to being the first to give away music online for free....eventually led to spotify of course. they also played on david letterman and he did not know what to make of them..... anyway 2003 was also the year pete burgled carl's flat and was picked up in possession of drugs and stolen items leading to some time inside, the first of many more scrapes with the law and little hope of being allowed into the US ever again...(bar when he was with kate moss) so that's why. or part of the reason he hasn't even tried to 'crack' america ..because, crack...
"I'd like to dedicate this one to everyone that supports QPR... Buuuuuhhhhhhhhh.... yeah, so myself basically.." LOL Its lovely how he dedicated it to the whole band and Carl
@Bananamamajama It is a Gibson EJ 160, the same as George Harrison and John Lennon of The Beatles used for many recordings and their early live performances. Greetings from Germany
@rogerthedodger55 I wish everyone who likes music but dislikes this man just gave him at least half a chance like you.....he would be a much bigger artist if the press had of just gave him a break!
Best performance I saw at glastonbury 2008.. well maybe reverend and the makers at left field were better.. but only by a margin.. This performance was just utterly beautiful in every aspect of beauty! Roll on 2010. :)
you should have been there fella, i was. first time ive seen him and he was immense, believe me. sure hes never going to be a brilliant guitarist but theres more to music than technical abillity. besides, the dropped and dead notes add to his accessability and all round charm ...
I'm not surprised by the great performance, but I do agree that its good to be a fan here in the US. We dont have to hear or see all the tabliod propaganda. We can just sit back and enjoy the music. I wish he would play over hear live.
It is 1961 Gibson J-160E John Lennon and George Harrison used this one.

Man, there is a Gibson just like that at the pawn shop down the road,....they want 900.00 dollars for it though. Anyone know what year and model it is? Thanks
I'm with you, drillingjosh. Junkie or not, who the hell are we to judge? Enjoy his music and don't judge. Personally i wouldn't think any less of him if he shot up right on stage, as long as he put on a good performance.
it's not our business to tell him drugs or no drugs, he's only an entertainer, a muse, it's our responsibility to be insipired by -whatever- he's doing or whatever form he's in. do what you think pete
He's a little clever, I'll give him that :) He's not what I'd call really gifted musically (imo) but there is a fragile sweetness about him. I'm pulling for the guy.
such romantic ideas are basically bullshit, but he sure makes a person into a dreamer. It's so corny--Albion and Arcady. Or no, not corny, just picturesque and beautiful.
you are the best dude ever well played fuck that moss bird your younger. stop crack and get on the booze mate. ps check my art on watts gallery artist in resisdence TRISTAN BROOKS or saatchi gallery tristan brooks.
