    I have lost five and half stone with sw I think if you follow sw in the way you should including speed etc in your meals and you use your common sense you will naturally be eating with a calorie deficit you have been doing brilliantly and you should continue do the plan as you have been doing x

    Hi Jess I think the pasta should be around 300 cals for 80g, as 80g on the app is the cooked weight for some reason. I’m a religious calorie counter 😂

      Also would the steak be lower than on the packaging as you’ve cut off the fat which probably would be lots of calories.

      I was thinking the same. Once the pasta is cooked it's like 3 times more the calories.

      Yeah the app is not always accurate you're better to scan the barcode on it then you get the right calories, just alter the portion :) I compare it to the calories on the packet too for reference

    Heyy, I started calorie counting I love it and find it works really well for me. I've never lost weight so fast! Also makes you realise how many calories are in certain foods like 2 rocky bars are less calories than half a tin of beans!

      @@TheSliceOfJess I think sw and cc can work quite well together.. sw has definitely taught me some good habits like filling up in speed food.. but when it comes to syns and the free foods, as you said it's easy to over eat.. since I've been cc I can see why I wasnt losing weight on sw. Like this soup what I like is the same calories as a baked potato yet the soup is synd and the potato is free.. then with the potato you add 200 cal of beans 50 cal of cheese and all that's free on sw.

    Great video I’ve done slimming world for over 5 years but sadly never got anywhere started calories counting 6 weeks ago and I’m 7 lbs down which is amazing for me as I’d think myself lucky if I lost half a pound on slimming world but I really really miss how easy slimming world is :(

    I lost 6 stone in 7 months following sw and cc, really with the pasta because your mixing it with a 3rd of veg to bulk it out you could’ve used 50g instead of the full portion and still had enough calories for your syns, I think slimming world is fantastic but I used to make silly mistakes in the beginning like having a plate of food and then having a bowl of fruit in a dish on the side to get my speed in as wasn’t fussed in certain veg, not realising I was just adding calories instead of following the plan as intended, I think a lot of people do that with slimming world and think it’s some kind of magic trick that if you eat certain foods together it don’t count and don’t understand that sw is a way for people to control their calories and feel fuller for longer, every diet weather ww sw keto, it’s all about less calories and what works for you, I loved slimming world but once I got down to 11 stone the weight was creeping off so I needed calorie counting but without sw I wouldn’t have even lost a stone so I think it’s what works for you, good luck Jess!     A great video, I tracked both calories and points and now just using calories. Portions is key as you said no matter the program one is using. I like to do both every once in a while to just keep myself in check so to speak. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

    I personally couldn't be arsed with calorie counting to much of a faff so SW is so much better . I'm lucky as I'm not a snacker or a big portion person as long as I watch what I eat like cake or chocolate I'm ok so SW keeps me away from them . Thanks for doing this it just cements my thoughts in SW xx

      So I was curious I tried it yesterday my conclusion was for me personally I think food would become an issue if I calorie counted I'd stop eating as much and not eating fruit as much to snack on as on slimming World it's free or speed so I feel good eating it but calorie counting I feel guilty iv never had an issue with food I have always eaten what I wanted until my early Hysterectomy so then I put weight on that's why I'm on slimming for my first time and I'm sticking with it. 😂 Yesterday was stressful weighing and counting and worrying that 6 grapes I just ate will push my calories up sod that.

    Thank you for posting this - I've done slimming before and lost a fair bit of wait, but have been CC for a year or so now and I'm stagnent. So doing slimming world, whilst looking at the calories might be the perfect combination.

    I have made many of your meals from the six week meal plan and have really been enjoying, I’ve lost 8lbs so far and am really happy. Don’t think I will calorie count think it might be a bit much for me, may be if I was struggling on SW or gaining weight I might.     Great video Jess, really enjoyed them. I've gone to CC after years of SW. It's a game changer for me, love it, and so easy to use the apps. I use "Lose it" so simple and it's free. Also got the bar code scanner on it. Thanks for sharing love xx

    Wow Jess what an eye opener. I knew it was like this and that's why I changed over to cc from sw. I need (according to tdee) to have 1189 calories a day which I need to make sure I use my food right. That's probably why I didn't lose much when on sw. This was a great video - would love for you to do some more the same. I made your tomato soup recipe today. Syn free but 715 calories when I made it. Got 5 portions out of it so works out at 143cals a pot. Tastes yummy though - thank you xxx

    You look fab Jess! Did you weigh the pasta dry or cooked? 80g of dried uncooked pasta is about 290 calories and cooked is 130 ish X

    I have tried slimming world twice
    And I honestly have to say it does work
    But I have to say for me personally
    I'm now not following any diet plan
    I'm just eating really healthy and still managing to lose weight.

    Little tip for u, I use scissors to cut fat off of meat 👍🏼 my mums idea! Also to cut up chicken etc, She keeps a set of scissors just for that!

    Great idea doing calories with your meals as I wanted to ask you how many you think you eat in a day.. if anything I thought you were under eating. Anyway what I’ve learnt about weight loss is that you should start with the smallest deficit to give weight loss so then later on you have room to reduce even further. Also too much of a deficit will result in a reduction of metabolic rate and may lead to binging. Obviously Slimming world suits you as you have portion control around the free foods, however, other people who have portion distortion may be better suited to tracking calories. Can I recommend that you try Jordan’s skinny syrups which are calorie free and come in all different flavours. Great in your yoghurt.

      It's about finding what works for you! Try calorie counting if and if you struggle with that maybe try something like Slimming World!

    I started SW after seeing you start your 6 week plan and about 3 weeks ago I did the same thing, got my fitness pal and done it along side calorie counting as I thought I was overeating but I’m not. I prefer it though too as I love things like avocado. It just means if there’s a day where something isn’t necessarily on plan I can still have it as long as I am in a calorie deficit. Also, did you know if you weigh your avocado ones the skin and stone is removed and work out Syns that way it’s always less than the 7 it says. Diced tomato and red onion mixed through ithe avocado isamazing haha. Well done by the way. You look great. X

    Great video… just a watch out on your pasta, the calories are for the cooked amount not dry so 80g uncooked turns into approx 190g cooked so your calories will be double x

    That was very interesting I was thinking of doing calorie. /slimming world. You Given me some ideas. Do you cook the rice before adding it. It was on one of your other video. I struggle on lunches as I can't eat anything wholemeal and have to take lunch to work plus there not a microwave there. So any ideas would be useful. Xx

I wanted to say how good your vids are... you are so real and it comes across so well .. alot of vloggers dont show their true selves and you do. You are very true to yourself never lose that as its a fantastic quality ..that sadly isnt that common..     I think the people who believe you can't lose weight on slimming world are the ones who believe that you have to starve yourself and eat very little in order to lose weight. Slimming world teaches you to eat fresh and balance carbs with protein and fruit and veg and the entire point of doing that is to ensure that you're not left hungry and don't go on a binge. Slimming world also says that free foods are only free if you eat accordingly with speed foods (again, this keeps the calories down while still filling you up). I got to my lowest weight on slimming world eating potatoes, rice, pasta, all of it so I know it works. I'm doing WW now but only because it works better with my lifestyle since having a baby (there's more grab and go options). You absolutely smashed it though, you had 3 great meals and stayed within your calories!

      Yeah I agree, it's all about what works for you personally, some don't actually look into the plan in detail before assuming that it's bad! If it's so bad then how come people lose amazing amounts of weight following it 🤔😂! x

      Yes just so you know for future 80g dry pasta is around 300 cals, google dry and cooked weight. My fitness pal is notorious for being inaccurate

    Do u think the calories in the gammon steak would be lower than MFP saying as you cut off the fat?
    Also I get Brannans smoked gammon steaks in aldi (don't know whether u have that brand in English aldi) and they're only 198 calories. Tesco finest could have bigger gammon steaks coz they fancy though.
