It takes time, and your body gets used to spinning in a particular direction and way, so you eventually won't get dizzy.

Hi Kseniya and Oleg, thank you so much for your videos. I love them all and find them very useful. I will keep practicing based on your advice. can I make a request that you do small "routines"? for example the guy in the back of this video combine outside turn, inside turn, then mohawk... its nice for us to be able to put together little combination. thanks

How do you keep on a flat edge while spinning? I always find myself falling to a deep inside edge

I am a new skater and having a lot of trouble with my spins. I only seem to be able to do a few revolutions (4 or 5) before my spin ends. I do try to bring my arms in gradually rather than right away. Perhaps I'm not keeping my core tight enough? I noticed that you mention spinning over the rocker, but for some reason I am finding that incredibly difficult. I find that I sort of wobble/rock over my blade rather than staying on one spot on my blade. Is this due to poor balance or because I might not be keeping a tight core? A very important thing to note is that I have recreational skates. The boots are very stiff and offer great ankle support, but it seems that the blades are quite flat and don't have much of a rocker. Do you suppose that I cannot do spins because my blades are kind of flat, or is it just my lack of technique? I cannot afford a coach right now and am just taking informal lessons at my university.

Try doing some core strengthening exercises and ask for sharper blades, remember not to bring your arms in straight away but don't bring them in too slowly either, wait a second and a half until bringing them in slowly but then again, not too slow. Hope this helps! :)

Good advice by Flubber Nuggets, also try to work on your edge control. Doing Double Knee Bends and other Skating Essential exercises will greatly improve your edge control. This will improve your skating in many ways, including spins.

Natalia Shershakova you should definitely get new blades (if you can afford it), your boots sound good so you probably don't need new ones. i found that once i got new blades (and boots) i could do my spins and jumps a lot easier, especially because my previous ones were recreational too!

Do a wind up (backwards crossovers in a circle what foot you want) then step into the circle you made and bring your leg and arms in to give you the power to pushn

there's something that drives me crazy and i don't understand. it's hard for me to spin and stay in place. i always fall out of my spins bc of that. do i need to go on my toe pick just before i start spinning to be more stable? (when doing a crossover entry for example)

Have you tried spinning on hockey skates for fun? I use hockey skates and would love to be able to any type of spin!

    • @kseniyaOleg

Years ago, I (Oleg) used to have a pair of hockey skates that I would do Axles in for fun LOL

Then can you consider doing a tutorial for hockey? I tried to spin on hockey but hockey has more of a grip compared to figure and I couldn't spin at all...or am I just doing something wrong?

Hi guys, Ive been having problems with this spin. I spin in a clock ward rotation and I somehow turn it to a back scratch spin. I've just started skating and I can do the advanced stuff but the simple stuff like 2 foot spins or one foot spins, I seem to have problems with. I've tried talking to people about, but everyone rotates the opposite direction. What do I do? How do I fix it?

How the hell do you spin like that without spotting? Even pro ballet dancers need to spot....
