What an exciting adventure! Building a pond that will always be there! Leaving a legacy for your kids. You’re a good man Daniel Arms! This grandmother likes you and your videos and your family. Been watching you for years! Fill my life with good wholesome videos. Love the videos Daniel. Thank you for hours and hours of great videos.❤
It’s amazing how much water went into the pond in one day like you said Daniel it won’t take much to fill it once your done , hopefully they can get the bottom cleaned quickly before the next rain comes .😊
Hi from Mary Iceland 🇮🇸 😀. This is huge for you Houston 8 indeed, thanks for sharing 👍, Daniel your a good dad ❤, wow the pond yusing the water 💧 too filling up wow . God bless you wery much dear family friends ❤️
Hi Daniel and Family. Great video. Pond is gotta lots of water in it. Great job Houston with your trapping Pond is going to be beautiful when it's done. God bless and love yall ❤❤
I love when Gemma gets to get out like Kelsey and Earl, but I do get nervous because she is just a little one. Gemma doesn't think so though, she wants to be one of the gang, lol.
Gemma is a totally normal Dashie! She thinks she’s as big as all the other dogs….lol…and if there’s a varmit to catch they will not quit till its finished.
These wiener dogs were bread to hunt badgers and as you can see them genes are still there. My Harley is the same way he loves going toe to toe with coons. Lord knows I’ve tried to stop him
I hope you guys had a blessed Christmas. Just some advice from many years of experience, I would leave the dam cut open to drain until you have everything else done. Then fill in the dam to cap the deal. I know a lot of people will have different opinions just seems like your best bet on this one.
Huston you may want to build some wood duck nesting houses. . They like trees with holes in them but in the water some houses will atrack ducks to nest. you have to use tin cones to keep raccoons from raiding them. Yes they will swim out to your nesting boxes.
Well I hope they wouldn’t shoot them, we go to a lot of trouble at our cabin in Mn to have many wood deck houses all throughout the woods around our lake.
It’s amazing how much water the ground can hold. I’m a be doing the same w my pod this coming year. Wish I could have done it this past year w all the drought we had.
There is something mesmerizing about watching big machinery. Never get bored. I used to take my grandson to watch them. Thank you. We got our “Slayer kit” I was not one of the lucky ones to get a signature label. 👵🏼
Thanks for sharing, Daniel and Houston !! As a 'City Slicker' you don't often get to see how one can expand a pond from little to BIG !! Very interesting !!
I had a dachshund years ago and they tiny but mighty. Gemma I think is my favorite. Bear is a close second🤣. All your animals are. Glad to see Houston making and saving money as well as protecting your land
Houston…. You Done Good! Congratulations Ron would be very happy you said his signing out, without ☝️ mistake that I heard. You for sure are growing up fast. 👍🏼
I used to have a small section of my roof draining into a 55 gallon rain barrel and I could fill that entire barrel with just a tenth of an inch of rain. It's amazing how much water is actually coming down. I can't wait to see how the pond turns out when it's all done.
Have you considered putting the pond drain pipe in now, at the bottom of the dam with an elbow on the end in the pond? You could put a stand pipe on it at the correct length for the water depth. It would also allow draining the pond in the future without digging out the dam as you could pull the stand pipe off and drain it.
Every earth mover I watch puts them at water level. I haven’t caught an explanation but this is probably because the pipe is a weak point for potential leaks to happen which would be very bad at the bottom, but easily fixed at the top.
Wishing you the best for weather to hold up and allow some changes to occur with pond. When it's finished, it's going to be some great memories made fishing.
Daniel love and enjoy your videos. May the lord bless and protect you and your family and the animals and the homestead and the pond wet and sitting the traps for raccoons.
A lot of rain but the pond will be beautiful when its done and ready to ne stocked with fish. Awesome trapping Houston. And what a payday for those animals. Great day. Gid nless. Have a wonderful new year with many blessings
Gemma is a little bad azzzzz! Love little dachshunds! I had one my whole life growing up. One lived to 19. And rescued one off the streets wandering. Best tiny dogs
Wow. That is A LOT of water from (just) 1 day or so of rain. Geepers. It’s going to be huge and such a great pond/lake for you and Houston to enjoy. Be blessed.
3 to 4” inches of rain might fill the pond now but once those trees have leaves on them again it might take 4 to 5 times that much rain to fill the pond. Trees drink a lot of water during the growing season
You know Daniel you and your wife are raising a very bright young boy and one thing I've never seen Huston doing is using a phone like many young kids today they're always playing games or they're on social media but not Huston he's into the outdoors and I think you're doing a wonderful job with him . God bless you and your family Happy holidays 💯 2025 .
I, too, am no pond building expert, but after watching your video, i have a few suggestions to help reduce the mud and sludge from building up at the bottom of the pond and trenches. 1. Plant some vegetation on the hill sides to reduce the amount of mud from being washed down hill into the pond when it rains. It will die as the waterline rises. The root might help the soil to be firmer. 2. Add a few brushpilies/dikes upstream of the ditch to collect some of the mud/sludge from flowing down into the pond. This will help keep the pond deep for a longer period of time. It will also help keep the fish habits from being filled up with sludge. 3. Burn the leaves in the "duck hunting area." This will keep the bottom from getting mucky as fast. An ounce of prevention is a pound of cure. Fix it now or fix it later.
Great job on your trapping Huston. Here in Shelby N.C. got a big river. Broad River< starts in Ashville N.C. Used to trap on it and a really big creek called Buffalo Creek, trapped on it also. Lots of fun. Thanks for the ride buddy and good luck on your trapping.
Hi Daniel. Great trapping Houston. Me thinks you’ll break dad’s wallet with your trapping record. Well done. Gemma just loves coming with you she’s such a character. More ferocious with age 😂. The pond is coming on so well. Amazing how it fill right back up again. Thanks for sharing have a fab day take care God bless 💕🙏

So proud of Houston being able to get rid of the Posiums and Racoons. We have a lot of them in my neighborhood but one of the neighbors set out cage traps. Then another neighbor gets rid of them. Yes the pond did fill up. Oh Boy Huh. Enjoyed watching and thanks. Love y'all
Poor Gemma, glad she didn't get hurt. She is having fun. Glad Houston is getting a lot of trapping done. That pond is a big mess right now. Good to know that it will hold water when it is done. Gemma is your little shadow. Thank you for keeping Captain Rons memory alive
Houston's seeing $$! If people don't understand why you have to do it count the amount of nest those 8 animals could and would destroy. Not to mention your chickens they might bother, and if you have that many you have a lot of coyotes!
Wow that is absolutely crazy how fast it filled up!!! Gemma is one crazy little dog. She is crazy about those possum and raccoons. Thanks for sharing, love the video's
Wow that's insane that it filled up like that. Wow incredible. Once the pond gets done it will be amazing. Houstons such a wonderful kid. Way to go on the traps. Man Gemma is a gem. Love her she's a great dog.❤
Video idea you and Houston go catch some big spoonbill with spoonbill wreckers flair bobby guy films and maverick have all gone with him very cool and fun fishing!
Someone above you got a lot of rain😢😢. It's like you had runoff coming from someplace else.😮😮. I sure hope the rain holds off for a couple of weeks for you.🎉🎉🎉.
Daniel... Houston... you guys need to talk to Andrew Flair about getting a couple of dozen of his new DUX decoys, and feature them on the AFH channel. It never hurts to ask.
I enjoy the trapping videos almost as much as the fishing, but not as much as the deer hunting! Been following y'all for years now, and without doubt y'all are by far my favorite channel. Never miss a video, even the merch-focused ones!
that is amazing how much water came so quick to fill the pond, but at least you know how fast it will fill when you are ready Houston you have become quite the hunter. Good job and you follow through. Making money is not bad either. Way to go
I have to say , (THANK YOU) for keeping Ron's message alive. It almost brings tears to my eyes every time you say it. I believe it was Ron's dream.
Ron lives on in our memories and Danial's reminders. Lost but not forgotten.

One nest raider you haven’t mentioned is the armadillo!
Love how Jemma learned her lesson and stayed on the ATV until Houston dispatched that raccoon.
