In my opinion Tom is by far the best role model for the UFC and young guys watching, no ego, super chilled, the type of guy you would want your kids to be like. Long may his reign continue!
Of course he has an ego...
People think any amount of ego is a bad thing.
@@kermitthefragg he has virtually no ego compared to most fighters
And yes, having an overly large ego is a bad thing in pretty much every aspect of life that isn't fighting, and even then it ruins people. Seen it time and time again
Except that one fingering line😂
Agree with you
He's in with the child groomers wouldn't dare watch pop eye 😂
Nile shows one of the main strengths of an elite athlete, often overlooked, which is high coachability.
100% agree, thought the same. He takes instruction very well, important quality.
VERY good point!
Yep, he's dialled in and absorbing everything, he'll remember it too.
Favourite UFC fighter
Same here mate he's a beast but humble and laugh
I was just about to post the same. Amazing fighter and sound lad
Tied with volk both class acts
Same
who asked fangirl
"Where should I look?" Is actually a great question
Mike Tyson said the same thing as Tom, he looks at the chest too
Gabriel Varga made a great video about this, mentioning the triangle of the torso. I recommend people who practice any martial art to watch it.
and a great answer too, for exactly the reason Tom explained. I have always taught students to look in the chest area so that you can see the legs moving too.
It’s easier to dodge stuff when you see it with your peripherals from my experience. It’s almost like letting your eyes relax, it’s hard to put into words. You flinch less and don’t tense up.
I look at the pinky toe
I've nothing but a massive respect for tom a national treasure he's gonna go far 👍😎🇬🇧
Fantastic teacher as well.
has to be the most humble UFC fighter other than GSP thats how you take care of some1 sparring you for the first time in their life.
strickland doosh can learn a thing and be humble.
If u beat blades the suga state commission will over turn your loss
I’ve seen so many fighters explain techniques badly, but Tom is a very easy person to understand when he explains things. I think he’ll be a very good coach in the future
Appreciate all the love and support 🤛 BIG news incoming don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE so your first to hear about it 🤝
Jon Jones has accepted a fight?
I assume the Curtis Blaydes fight?
@@username-jw7kp That's the fight i'd love to see.I actually think he's the only guy that presents a challenge to Tom.I mean, i still think Tom will win.
@@marksoutofzen lolno, he'd have to pass a drug test first.
Your a manc but we liverpool fans still like you 😂
To a beginner a question like " where do i look" can seem a bit stupid, but it's a pretty solid question. I'm 190cm so most of the times I can look at the hips and still see everything.
I always look at the centre of their chest, especially if I'm sparring a girl😉
i hear boxers watch the shoulders. because thats where the initial movement from a punch will start. as soon as the shoulder starts to move, thats your queue a punch is on the way.
@@GonnaGetYouBoi I've done muay thai for 5 years now so I don't and sort of can't focus just on the shoulders.
@@GonnaGetYouBoiperhaps “watching” isn’t quite the right word for it, but yeah, for boxing (or any combat sports, really) the trick is to keep those large joint movements in your peripheral vision, because it’s better at picking up motions. this is why you’d typically stare without blinking at the upper chest area on your opponent, it enables you to make your focus vision take up less of your attention
You just wanted to flex your height be honest
I'm guessing this means we'll soon be seeing Tom trying to stick a backflip😜... Looking forward to it already! Great video fellas 💪
This dude is such a treasure. No ego and quite funny.
Tom knows how to explain things, great vid!
Pride of the UK. Tom is such an inspirational guy... An absolute monster in the cage, but friendly, humble and chill with it. Total legend 💪
Tom, no need for the music in the background mate, dialogue is fine on its own 👍
Might be because there’s music on in the gym, covering it up for copyrights sake
Tom Aspinall is the man. He represents us so well 🇬🇧🏴
The light sparing was really fun to watch, all smiles and giggles :D It was like a game of tag
Tom is the gentlest giant you can train with, the man doesn't forget his size and strength and explains things clearly while encouraging you, man it must be a pleasure having the opportunity to be coached, even for a little bit, by him.
Keep up the good job Tom and hope you get that title shot ASAP, we're here to support and cheer you on!
How can you not like Tom… great guy and a beast of a fighter … big fan 👏👏👏
If you're looking for a role model, look no further- showing how humble, hard work can bring huge success (and make you the hardest man on the planet!). Fair play to Nile for taking those leg kicks too...
Tom seems so easy to be around and talk to
Great teacher! Tom is so relatable! I grow to like him more and more..
What an exemplary role model.
Niles a good sport. Great video.
Love this...nail is a top lad in every video I've seen him and toms a gentleman always...more of this stuff
Y'all had good vibes! you should do gymnastics with him
From the videos with Eddy and here, Tom seems to be extremely good at teaching and explaining things nice and simple.
One thing I have noticed about Tom is he can learn what level the person is at and adapt his teaching style/method. I use to do this when teaching TKD hence why I recognised it., not the same level or world of course but great to see.
He will make a great teacher if he decides to go that path after competing.
toms so northern i can’t help but smile when he talks. such a sound bloke
Seems a very humble chap great for the sport. Legend in the making.
Tom just seems like such a nice caring bloke
Loving the uk collabs 👍🏽👍🏽
Really enjoyed this. Well done Nile for not flinching and being a good sport. Great stuff.
That guy is chill and a fucking tank
15:21 that must’ve been the most demoralizing “Ay that’s not bad” of all time
Best role model in the ufc! Compassion not wanting to hurt him and asking if he’s okay!! Keep it up Tom
I don’t think I’ve seen Nile so nervous. And he’s done some crazy stuff on his channel.
Niles was taking this seriiously, listening to Tom, he respects all sports people and their skills, Great video Tom, I came across because of Niles, and I will subscribe. Thanks
Tom is one in a million in friendliness too
What an absolute hulk with such kindness in him.
What a good teacher tom is....legend of the sport...👌
Massive respect to Nile!
can see tom being an amazing coach once he retires
I have so much respect for these humble UFC fighters like Tom , Volk.
Respect tom . fron a fellow Marshall artist that was fantastic . you truly a great ufc champion to see the teacher in you and knowing what youre capable of with a guy youre size never mind a guy half you're weight i just felt like saying you're an inspiration to anyone wanting to learn not only how to fight but to be a gentleman have a great day tom hopefully get to watch you smash jones if he stops ducking. . all the best champ .
Honestly the way Tom breaks stuff down makes it easy even for a rookie like me looking to learn.
I love the fact you shared you have to build up to getting punched, but yet you never get use to it. Most people don't understand that. No different than taking a football hit. You just don't start at the NFL, you work your way to the NFL or Tier 1 Rugby for that matter.
Nile what were you thinking 😂😂😂😂
Those tips for staying relaxed are game changing
Absoloute pure class act! Also takes a lot of courage to even step in there. Well done both
I love it when champs have such class
Heavy weights leg kicks are just different. This little dude taking those from Aspinal is just astonishing.
From Gymnastics to Wheelchair Racing in 17 minutes.
Tom is an incredible heavyweight.
ash and luke sitting outside - laughing XD
One of the most all rounded great guys to have ever been apart of UFC.
I used to go an MMA gym when I was in my earlier 20s for about 6 months and I didn't learn much technique and I was pretty unathletic at the time which didn't help (terrible mobility etc). They used to start every class with hard sparring which looking back was silly throwing me into the lions like that but I had heart and most people weren't total douches and sparred playfully but I did take my far share of beatings and in fairness learnt how to defend a bit out of necessity. I used to dread sparring the coach though because he used to light me up every time. I don't know if it was because he saw my heart as cockiness and felt like he needed to humble me. I was just a young guy eager to learn/impress. Anyway - one day I came in for a session and we did more hard sparring at the end of the class after a few drills. I got lit up by everyone and then sparred the coach last (at this point pretty exhausted). He then proceeded to blast my thigh 100% (baring in mind this guy had trained mauy thai for 20+ year and competed). I collapsed to the floor in absolute the agony. Maybe the worst pain I've ever felt. Almost on the verge of tears. He shouted to me to get up which I just about managed to get back to my feet and he blasted my leg again in the exact same spot. I collapsed again in agony and crawled off the mat on all fours. I woke up the next day and my leg was literally almost black from bruising from the top to bottom. Fair to say that day I was humbled. I'm not sure if he went about it in the right way - in fact I'm sure he didn't - but the moral of the story is leg kicks are no joke. Someone who is experienced has the ability to incapacitate you very quickly. I did end up going back for a few more classes but ended up getting an evening job which meant I had to stop. Looking back that was a bit of a blessing. I don't really regret my experience but my advice would be look for a good gym that is there to look after you and humble you in a friendly way like Tom did in this video.
What a great person Tom is.
When I saw Tom on TH-cam with Eddie hall I didn’t even know he was a fighting champion. His interactions with people are friendly and approachable. He’s very humble and normal. Great role model for the young.
Tom is a great person first and of course an awesome fighter
Tom is so massive it's bonkers 😅 And, as everyone else has said, an absolute diamond of a lad.
Great basic drills for beginners. Tom, you’re a good teacher
Dude took it one like is a Good Student of the Sport!! Love the Knowledge and Sparring Guidelines Aspinal is Teaching 👏💯
The look of fear in his eyes after he through that kid with all his might and it didn't even budge you lmao, I would probably have reacted the same but still 😂
Get Magnus Midtbø. I'd like to see how his grip strength translates!
Tom is a role model. What a fantastic guy! even with this sparring session he is constantly checking with Nile. Tom knows what he is capable of. It is bad that Stipe or Jon wont take the fight.
Not really a huge fan of yours in all honesty but you come across really well and I quite enjoyed this content - thank you Sir.
Tom is an absolute gentleman! Imagine a version of this video except with Sean Strickland... 😅
He says 30% but he is just being humble, this was maybe 5%.😂
That last kick won the Like, no doubt! lol
Great video, top man Tom Aspinall 👊👊😎
Great video big Tom. Love these sort of clips, just proper normal behaviour.
4:20 COMPLETLY DIFFERENT THAN HITTING AFOOTBALL MATE LOL HAD ME ROLLING
80% power and Tom's facial expression doesn't change and says "not bad" 😂 imagine if someone done that in a fight against you.
Tom will train champions long after his retirement from the sport I can tell this video is an example to how good his coaching ability is kudos to Niles as well he asked a lot of good questions overall another W vid from the REAL champ
Absolutely fantastic!! Tom you are a real gentleman great to watch I reckon your gonna take that belt of Jon jones🇬🇧🇬🇧
Fair play to Nile Wilson for taking those kicks. The size differential would mean Tom could probably break hit leg. I wouldn't want 30% of that !
Tom you are the man! And nile is a great listener/learner
Tom is a real gent, what an experience it must be to "spar" with such a champ, his dad must be so proud
Tom seems like such a nice, down to earth guy and it's terrifying that he could rip most people's head's off!
For the video you might want to lower the background music a little or not bother as your talking/training is enough. Also, don't have your microphone directly under your chin, it gets muffled a fair bit.
Keep up the good work 💪
Tom's so encouraging and accommodating..
Thanks for the big subtitles I am partially deaf I can only hear 5% so being able to see what they say is amazing.
He deserves all the success in the world how down to earth
Good luck
Would honestly kill too have a light spar and drill session with Tom the absolute machine!!!!
We need more fighters like Tom. Great video!
I learned from watching this video. Man you can't dislike this GUY in anyway. I hope you become the first person to beat GOAT jon jones and become the GOAT.
Huge respect for Tom, really interested in the video, but the background music, mic issues and camera exposure could be improved.
Love nile Luke and ash so I’m glad this video was suggested by TH-cam
This is a vibe with a Tom.
I would have Nile's exact reaction: "I don't want to hurt him, even if my brain knows I can't.." :-)
His fluidity of movement for his size is impressive
I wanna see the guests hold a big pad and feel a full force kick 😂
That guys a trooper! lol
Tom makes a great teacher of the art
Perspective is insane... when tom does videos with eddie, he looks like a tall, but regular person. next to nile, it's like he is a muscle bound mountain of a man, lol.
Actually really good training advice
When I started kickboxing, my coach had held a world professional heavyweight title - but an obscure one. He wasn’t famous. He wasn’t rich. He wasn’t competing anymore - but he had been a world class pro.
His 70% kicks into a hit shield and body guard would take me off my feet and dump me on my ass if I wasn’t paying attention, and did wonders for building my conditioning to take hits, when I was 110kg / 240lbs and a competitive amateur grappler and learning to be an ok amateur striker.
One of his 85-90% kicks when he was prepping for a bout - into the hit shield and guard suit, landed as saw the girl I was into walk into the gym. I was completely off balance and not paying attention and he put me over the ropes like a rag doll. I was limping for a week.
I’d need to be in my absolute best condition before I’d let Tom throw 30% into my leg and if I was coming out of camp to prep for a fight, in the best condition of my life and in my twenties again when I felt durable and brave - I don’t think I’d agree to let him throw 60 or 70% into giving me a dead leg unless I had a hospital stay booked in advance😅
You can tell he is a really nice guy for a big brute !!!!!
One of the many reasons I love aspinal look how bad he feels hitting this guy half his size you can see he's not even throwing great person to introduce someone to the sport and great persons to literally take someone out of the sport all love champ ❤
yano what this video was so much fun ahah and nile was quite good for a beginner, its rare a beginner doesnt look silly at times, but he showed he can listen and execute, thats all you want from a beginner! ps Tom Aspinall is the best so proud, were going to have a champ from north west UK!!! lets gooooooooooo!!! im from Bolton
Great crossover. The musketeers are 3 great TH-camrs and always worth checking out.
Tom is role model, very good man and best UFC fighter
It's insane to think that two specimens of the same species, even same gender, could require 10vs1 to make it a somewhat fair fight
