We had a small Cub Camperoo for more than 25 years and never had a problem with condensation. The trick is to keep an window slightly open at night no matter how cold it is outside ( You had me going there for a minute Phillip with that girl mate 😉😂 )

With these roof top tents. Leaving a window open is not enough. They all gather moisture under the mattress. These Aeromesh mats eliminate that issue.
These mats are used in caravans as well.

On my rtt.. I just used eva high density closed cell foam 5mm sheets. Allot cheaper and allot better for insulation and stops condensation. It is water resistant, some the best insulation, vibration dampening, doesn't get dusty or dirty, mildew proof, mould proof, rot proof, bacteria proof, lightweight, and a whole list of good things about it. I got from one site 5x 1mx1mx5mm sheets for $70 delivered (Brisbane) which on a 2250x1520 rooftop tent I only needed 3 and 1/2 sheets.

Interesting. I thought they would not breath enough and hold moisture.

I’ve lined the bottom of mine with those interlocking square rubber foam tiles you get from all camping stores…..
But I always have the windows open…..even in below zero temps……and never have any condensation…..
But that matting looks really good instead of the tiles I’m using….it’ll definitely breath a lot better…..

Problem with those rubber foams is with time they will break down causing a nasty mess, that will be almost impossible to remove.
The issue is when your roof top tent is packed away. Especially if it’s parked outside in the sun a lot, the heat will break down the rubber.

@@PhilsCampingReviews good point….I never thought about that…..I better open it up and check on the weekend……I had used them more for the purpose of insulation for the winter months…..jumping into that bed is like laying on a slab of ice…..
(I’ve got a 12v electric blanket to take the chill out this winter…….lol….)

@@defenderzook some have used carpet for better insulation, but again make sure the backing is not rubber.
