His style of gayiki was pretty simple, soft, effortless, soothing, and soulful but overbearing and difficult to emulate ! Agonies and ecstasies of life got fully reflected in his renditions ! What's so special with the great Mehdi Hassan Saab was the fact that he could render the tragic and romantic nuances of the Urdu couplets with equal proficiency and consummate ease ! Perhaps, that might have been the reason - as to how the great Khan Saab could unleash such path - breaking masterpieces at regular intervals !
