Seems like a fitting role reversal moment (hero sacrifices himself for woman). Besides, their relationship has never really been about romantic love. The attraction comes more from mutual admiration and kinship. That knighting was better for them than sex.

I think what's beautiful about their relationship is that it was built on that respect and admiration, and has evolved and grown with time to the point that it is a romantic relationship also. The actors have stated this as well. Also, GRRM based their relationship off of Beauty and the Beast. I'm firmly in the camp that they will get together :)
I don´t even know how many times I´ve watched this video. I loved the music, the editing and with the end HBO gave us it´s just heartbreaking. My favorite couple. So I just think this is the end: Jaime knighting Brienne. It´s so emotional and powerful even more than the having sex. Thank you !
Jaime probably will survive it, the lord of plot is seemingly not done with him yet. Brienne has now completed her arc, her purpose. I've heard a lot of people say that Jaime will die saving Brienne but I think it will be the other way around. Seems a fitting and honorable end for her. Besides, wight Brienne going on a rampage? Fuck yes.
Brienne's arc is not over. Her arc was never becoming a knight, it was about finding her "place" in this world, as a warrior AND woman. She always felt like she didn't belong and people, especially men, made fun of her. She never allowed herself to think about romance or sth like that. Brienne is searching for love and the ability to feel loved, in some way. Her actress also stated this in an interview, that Brienne starts to find her way as a woman this season. Also in the behind the scenes video they say three times that she loves Jaime and starts to think "outside a box", so it would be bad and sad to throw this buildup away just to have her die next to some other characters. I think/hope she survives this battle, because her arc is not completed yet.

She is truly happy and completely at ease with herself. We don't need to see them snog or say I love you to realize that they would eventually. Dramatically it makes sense that one of them dies, especially in GOT world. Don't get me wrong, I love her character and if she does survive, great, can't wait to see.
This is so bittersweet. I don't believe both of them will survive, and they probably will never have any moments of even the slightest physical intimacy because that seems really unfitting (Brienne is all about honor, and Jaime, ironically, have turned quite chaste over the course of their relationship, starting out acting like a fuckboy), yet their relationship is one of the deepest in the show. They are friends, who respect each other and feel for each other's losses, in the process of realizing that their feelings are much deeper, but there is nothing to do about it. In different circumstances they could be together, but in different circumstances thy'd never even meet in the first place. It's the best, the most nuanced UST pairing I have ever ran into. Top-notch stuff.
