  • This series of videos are looking again at the basic information taught during the Back to Basics series. This time I'm using just beautiful foliages and catkins all foraged from the Welsh countryside.
This arrangement follows is less structured and uses seasonal greenery in different shades of green with an impotence placed on the texture of the leaves to create contrast, its been arranged to be viewed from the front and could be replicated in a larger or smaller scale to suit any location.
I'll make this design again next week but using a selection of flowers so you can see how versatile the arrangement can be - Don't forget to pop back next week
If you are new to arranging, take a few minutes to view my Back to Basics series which will explain how to create a very all round arrangement using a minimal amount of flowers.

Great to see some different foliage other than typical florist foliage being used. It looks great, & is something I will be attempting to practice. Thank you for this video.

I love all foliage designs. For my wedding bouquet (many moons ago) I did not have flowers, it was all foliage.

Can you grow that fern in your garden and does the plant have a certain name please?

Hi Jennifer. Yes ferns will grow quite happily in a garden, but they are shade lovers and like dark, dark locations with some dappled light. Check your local garden centre for some advice.
