Barry Wolfe GP Cat 4/5

It was a quick pace right from the beginning whistle. There was some nerves in the peloton, also some tense moments between riders. Even I had a couple of moments where I could have been better. I was feeling pretty confident about things, taking an unnecessary hard pull off the front. Coming up with two laps to go before turn Four a E-Voke rider lost control panicked and took 8 of us out. The Race Director had to neutralize the race for a lap until they could safely get me off the course. I was in so much pain, difficulty breathing, severe difficulty moving they had an ambulance on the way for me. I said yea fuck this I’m not getting into an ambulance, I managed to get help to stand up getting assistance to walk away.
I crashed pretty hard breaking two ribs, one of which is displaced, my whole left side is a purple bruise, my hip flexor was strained and bruising to my internal hip area.
No major damage to the bike.
To my buddy Sam who also crashed (he got straight up and came running over to me to console me. MUST RESPECT ✊.
All my team with PRT (Padyak Racing Team) you all surrounded me and rallied supporting me in every way possible to help me get through this difficult experience.
