I am 51 and love the 5 10 Bomber 44 litres! These boards last about 60 surfs and then they start 2 lose the magic! The fin boxes always take on water! Great video
I always tape up fin boxes on new foamies, then get a box cutter to cut the tape of the fin slots.

its designed and meant to be ridden as a twin but gives you the option to put a trailer or a thruster setup

@@William-Bill-Munny funny joke bro that honestly hit hard, youre a pure comedian..... who cares lol its surfing theres no rules written down like you HAVE to call something this and that, in fact mark richards, the literal inventor of twin fins, has been putting a third tri fin box on a number of his “twin” models for a while now, its not a new thing. it doesnt matter how you choose to ride it, the board is called what its called by what it was designed after, and shapers sell more when there are more options on the playstyle. The super twin, cali twin, mega twin, are you gonna tell mark richards himself that he cant market those models as twins because they have 3 boxes? also how are you going to tell me it was a joke and the right under that try and back up your point, that clearly means you werent joking, relax a little bit bro its surfing not golf
creekers Ah I don't wanna spoil the party. But MR didnt invent the twinfin. He rode twinnys to 4 consecutive world titles(single fins in hawaii). But he didn't invent it. But youre right hes been putting centre boxes in his twins for years now. I bought one from him in 2005, with the centre box and trailer setup. Just means you can still ride it when it gets bigger and steeper.. And tbh, I find it a bit strange that Mason isn't riding his signature twin as a twin! But yeah it does showcase the versatility of the board. And hey Im sure Mason could ride it with any amount of fins! Or no fins! Freakish ripper that he is😀
@@lancejackson3618 There's no party to spoil ahahaha don't worry, i am totally aware mark wasn't the very first to invent the use of two fins on a surfboard, and we may never know who did it first. Tom blake and bob simmons documented it in the 40's. Dale velsey in the mid 50's. George greenough, bear mirandon, steve lis and rex huffman in the 60's. early 70's Bing, Hobie, G&S, Hansen, Con, McCoy started pumping out twin fin models, aswell as corky carroll, terry martin, clyde beatty (and more) then billy tolhurst, reno abelira, and mark richards. I know my history as should any passionate surfer. What i should've clarified a little better and now that i look back on it i used "literal" in the wrong context, was that MR pretty much invented the high performance shortboard with his twin fins, and pioneered the design for the way highpro modern tri fins are made today. I too have rode a handfull of MR's, i had only ridden a couple of his glass on twin fins up until a friend of mine let me borrow his mega twin, back to my original point is that, i'm very glad it had 3 boxes because it let me change the board for a variety of different conditions and different feels. Now that doesn't mean that when i had in a tri fin setup i would call it the "mega tri", the model is still the mega twin, if someone asked i would clarify and say its a mega twin with a tri fin setup. I was just trying to explain to the many people i see in the comments whining about the fact that the masons model is called the mho twin yet has three boxes and here is riding it as a tri. And i think the reason he is riding it as a tri here is because, well, just look at the wave and you know, its a small hollow slabbing reefy beach break, a quick critical ride, room for one turn if he doesn't get in the tube, and that extra fin helps if your trying to pull into shooters. Theres not much room for error when riding and kicking out right over dry reef either, so i assume he's sticking to what he can maneuver best.
