My mother went to a Sally Morgan show many years ago. There was a lengthy period before the show started that guests were invited to mingle in the bar area.
During this time, a man was circulating, making sure to get people's names, and asking who they hoped would "come through", and what their story was. After each little chat he disappeared into the toilets or some little side room for a couple of minutes before returning and repeating the process with different people. My mother thought it was a little odd, but forgot about it...
When they were let into the theatre, my mother's friend, who is extremely long-sighted and refuses to wear glasses, insisted on sitting right at the back, right in the middle of the row. No-one else sat close. As they took their seats, they noticed a projectionist's window directly above them...
During the show, my mother could hear a man's voice, and realised it was coming from the projectionist's room. She listened closely and discovered he was feeding information to Sally, like the name of the guest, the name of the deceased and nature of their relationship etc, anything else he picked up on.
I don't know what my mother expected, but this was enough to put her firmly on the side of skepticism.
A few weeks later, someone went public with a very similar experience of one of Sally's shows, probably from the same tour. If I remember correctly, she tried to sue him for it.
A fair while after all of this, my mother and her friend went to see Sally again, on a different tour, and at a different theatre, to see if anything had changed. Thoigh there was the same pre-show hanging around, there seemed to be no accomplice on this occasion, and no projectionist's room...
When Sally started to "perform", it was clear that she was cold reading, and appallingly badly. Not getting a single hit. Guessing everything incorrectly. Victims not saying the right things, nobody fitting their reality to her guesses... Just a complete train wreck.
Between the pre-show drinks, a mid-show break (iirc), the post show drinks, and all the other stage waffle, my mother reckoned she only did about 15 minutes of cold reading, talking to only 3 or 4 people, and not a single successful effort.
And yet, all the other guests in the bar afterwards were gushing about how amazing she was, how accurate, what a gift from God she is. People literally sobbing in appreciation.
I'm always nervous about retelling this given Sally's litigious nature, but clearly she needn't worry - her audience have an unassailable faith in this nonsense no matter the state of evidence for or against. They believe what they need to believe I suppose.
By far my favourite of Derren Brown's work is when he exposes charlatans, as they are exploiting people's hopeless credulity for gain, and in some cases, such as so-called faith healers, potentially causing serious harm by supplanting real medical solutions with guff. But I worry that the only people who pay attention are those whose eyes are already opened. Preaching to the converted as it were.
Whatever the case, keep trying. If the spell is broken for a few, it's worth it, and it's always fantastic entertainment. I hope we see a lot more Derren on TV in the future.

A well written comment, though there are those out there who’re genuinely gifted in this area but are humble, normal people who do not want financial gain for their gifts. Fantastical as this area is, it is very real and needs much investigation to fully understand it.

I was at a Sally show. I was sat at the back, heard her assistant whispering her information on a radio set. A few weeks late the press got onto it at another show and she was finished. Researchers posing as guests overheard chats in the bar and spoke to people on why they were there. Then they got onto their secret radios and told her.

Well done, Derren. Don't feel bad. You're just proving that we create our own reality, as all Freemasons do.
(I'm not suggesting you're a Freemason, just that you're 'pointing it out'.).
