I am currently trying to propagate a ZZ and I thought I did it wrong cause nothing is happening. I am doing it in a propagation box with sphagnum moss. I guess I just need to learn to be patient… very patient. Great job and thanks for all the updates on the progress!
Loved following the videos about your ZZ plant thank you so much . Watched so many video about saving a ZZ plant online , si far yours are the best : well explained and have a nice voice too thank you so much , Im gonna follow your channel now 👌🏽👍🏼
Thanks for the final update! I have 2 leaves in water and 2 small cuttings outside in the ground. It’s going slow but am interested in the outcome. I think I’ll take a few longer cuttings and put in water and soil too. Now I know to be really patient! Thanks again for the information!
with stem cuttings, what I found works well is to let the cutting air out to callous for 24 hrs, then use a rooting hormone if you have it or cinnamon powder, and plant in a medium that has some sand in the mixture
When you stuck the stem cutting leaf cuttings in soil initially after taking a cutting, did you water it thoroughly, or did you only mist the soil every few days?
oh my goodness, I put 2 of my stem cuttings into soil about a month ago, didn't know I'd have to wait for a year for it to grow new stems! Do you think any fertilizer would have helped the growth of your plant?
I put them pretty close to my window, but my larger plant is in a shadier spot. I think with propagation more sun is better, but with the ZZ I don’t know if it needs it. Err on the side of caution I guess.
I did the same thing! I throw out three leaves and a stem that had the rotted looking end in the soil. I have a couple in water now and trying to decide if I should put them in soil. In the meantime, I bought another ZZ but I couldn’t find a raven.
Great series of propagating the ZZ plant. I now know what to look forward to. Thank you!

I just watched your first video. Glad I was able to see all three back to back. I was thinking about doing this.
I’m glad you found all three. I think I need to organize them a little better so they are grouped. Thanks for watching!
🥰🥰🥰

Congratulations! 🥰🥰🥰

Now I know why they are so expensive! Thank you for the update, I was wondering what happened to mine, now I know

For sure!! Great tips, thanks for sharing. Does cinnamon powered work like rooting hormone? I didn’t know that.
@@SuburbanSill Yes, it's a good alternative to rooting hormone

I watered when the soil was dry

What type of lighting did you keep these guys at during propagation?
I know they like shade. Do they even like shade during propagation?

How did the one you propagated in water do after you put it in soil? Is water or soil propagation better? Thanks
Well, it eventually withered away and dries up, but underneath it made a bunch of rhizomes and has put out new little sprouts.
I am so mad I have a zz raven, I pulled like 4 leaves out of the soil, there goes 4 new plants. :(
Shoot! Well now you know. I have thrown away leaves myself so I feel your pain.
