Don't hold your breath, until they sell in relatively decent numbers the Aftermarket mobs won't notice them in order to justify the r&d, and mahindrah screwed up with going for such random stud patterns and as stated in the video being inconvenience for home servicing because the parts are not readily available from Parts stores, and in decent numbers they are not even in the top 20 at the moment. Ford Couriers sold more and they only got the basic aftermarket support and only have 2 diff lock options woth 4wdsystems Front Auto Locker and ARB rear air locker I have been interested in these for awhile but a 200 kilometres 1 way trip to a dealership is deal breaking, even more so woth basic consumables not available at part stores so convince isn't there are requires pre planning and having stock in the shed

Every type of filter (fuel/air/oil), brake pads, reco gear boxes, roof racks, cv’s, door handles, radiators, axle shaft bearing kits, dash mats, bearing kits, all the different belts, gaskets, radiator hoses, Mahindra towbars, alternators, ball joints, air suspension kits, 3” stainless exhaust, stainless snorkel. Just to name a few, and the list goes on and on and on
Yeah seen their products. They wanted me to put them all over my mahindra. But I decided not to. Just to expensive, and besides I already customised mine with way cheaper custom parts. 👍

Mate, they are so underrated here. Mahindra have huge potential here to increase sales massively in Aust . They are such a capable little vehicle. All mahindra need to do is to organise thru ARB , TJM or other local companies to start working on a range of spare parts from electrical, thru to suspension kits, bull bars, long range tanks, wheel & tyre options etc. These things are probably what's limiting its sales overall , just a lack of after market spare parts & support. I'd love mahindra to really Start promoting these more & to increase their own parts & dealers network significantly & to allow afternarket parts suppliers the opportunity to do the same .
Yep, you hit the nail right on the head. I don't think mahindras top people in Australia understand how we do things here in Australia. I have personally spoken to some people in the head office, but failed to convince them. Purchased a single cab for farm and hunting trips in 2021. Has 50000 km on it now. Agree with every thing you've said. 40000 service had to wait 1 week for simple service parts to get service done as local dealer doesn't hold parts. Did a fan belt on a recent Cape York trip. Cairns mahindra didn't have one took a week to get one. If mahindra are serious about there vehicles they need to fix the issue ASAP. Great Ute let down by the company and dealerships who don't give a flying !!!!.
Yes I agree. Unfortunately mahindra will never change their attitude towards the Australian market. As for ARB/TJM, the sales volume isn't anywhere near strong enough for them to include mahindra in their line-up of manufacturers to deal with. Ryebuck is the only company that I know of that is making stuff for mahindra. They asked me to promote their products on this channel, but I refused. Although they build quality gear, it was way to over priced in my opinion, and most of it was a copy of what I already had custom made for mine. Mahindra really need to focus on the absolutely shocking quality control of these vehicles before any other aftermarket product manufacturer will take notice of them. Most companies aren't going to put their products on unreliable vehicles with bad sales figures in this country. I tried to talk to the upper managers of mahindra here in this country to help them thrive amongst other brands. But mahindra just shat over me and tried telling me not to use mine off road. Now Mahindra has opened new factory to decrease time for delivering cars . All new Mahindra cars have 5 star global ncap safety rating like XUV 300. ,700 . But jeep like suv has 4 star and jeep Wrangler has 2 star in usa , that's funny 😹😹

Donot worry Mahindra m-hawk engine ate very reliable. ( you can easily go for 2-3 lakh km without any issue if serviced properly. Remember Mahindra are biggest tractor producing brand in world. They have a very good at diesel engine.
The parts issue is definitely the biggest gripe I have with them. Parts come from Brisbane via the post (2000 ks away) and then they're the wrong part!
Definitely!! I've been waiting 10 fricken days for a turbo to be sent up from Brisbane to Bundaberg. 400km Hopefully ready to pick up tomorrow. Definitely not impressed with the turbo shiting itself after only 64,000km on the clock.
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 when they search for the part you're after they go through a book, they don't use your rego so it's a process of elimination until you get the correct part. They've got a lot of work to do in the spare part area. I took a new one for a test drive yesterday, impressive, but it's the parts thing holding me back.
If the mahindra had the auto at the time I would of bought one for sure. GWM cannon so far has served me well. Beast off-road with its harrop rear locker.
I had the older model with the Old engine ,filters were all generic, Had to go to a truck mechanic for wheel alignment's as the hubs were so big . It went to the cape and up and down the east coast a few times all over the brindabellas and towed my boat everywhere. Was a great truck but I got absolutely hammered on resale when I had to sell it .that can not be glossed over people pay 10 grand for a old triton with the same ks I struggled to get 3 🤦🏿♂️
G'day mate and thanks for watching. First of it depends exactly what your after. A triton and GWM are both more car based 4x4's, where the mahindra is more farm ute/offroad based. The others are more comfortable with more tech and power compared to the mahindra. The mahindra is built more like an old school cruiser, it's more robust and has a no fuss focus mentally frame of mind. Triton is on par with the mahindra when it comes to true off road capabilities, where the GWM struggles with the electronics trying to keep up. The mahindras eaton mechanical diff lock is bloody brilliant, as most of the time you don't even feel it cut in and out. The Triton has an awesome 4x4 system with a clever transfer case that you can engage on smooth surfaces, where the others can't. Triton has a better aftermarket parts program here in Australia, where the mahindra and GWM seem to struggle with getting parts that should be readily available. Mahindra is very in house based with their products, where things like all filters/ brake pads and wheels are all threw a dealership. It's near impossible to get any aftermarket rims for a mahindra in Australia due to its STUPID 5x160 stud pattern. Where both others are a more popular design capable of more choice. Hope this helps with your decision mate. Just remember, it's your hard earned money. So choose one that's fits every criteria of your needs, not wants!. Good luck with your choice mate.👍
Saw he was a lucky customer invited to test drive the Automatic version. Clearly has an NDA about performance of it cause he is happy to say he drive it on socials but hasn’t replied that I saw to questions on it’s performance when asked.
From India the cars from indian companies r good ..not the best .. but very good in terms of reliability it's just their current tech like infotainment system becomes quite a problem ... Their touch screen nd all ...we have a ford endeavour nd a maruti suzuki 800 nd a thar
Thanks for the updates and reviews. in your experience, how do you rate them on fuel economy overall? Mahindra is inching to the top of my list for taking the dive in getting an overlander. they seem to be no nonsense and reliable.
G'day mate and thanks for watching. The mahindra is quite good on fuel delivering between 7-12ltr/100km depending on driving conditions and weight. The engine size is compromised when you add a hefty weight behind it. It lacks the grunt to pull heavy loads economically. In comparison our Colorado which has a tuned 2.8ltr engine will pull a similar size load with less fuel usage. The mahindra engine just needs a bit more power, and a better tune. But that doesn't mean it's a bad moter. The transmission is geared very well to the motor, and gives it great flexibility. We definitely picked the fuel economy up by running a larger free flowing exhaust and snorkel. You won't be disappointed by getting one mate, they are definitely worth considering. Hope this helps with your decision. 👍
Shocked at the 40,000 kms service bill of 800 Dollars! 180 to 200 dollars max is what it would typically cost in India. I guess there may be import duties associated with the parts as well as cost of transportation from India. But Mahindra should figure out a solution otherwise they will never capture the market like they have here in India. The new Scorpio-N maxed out its 100,000 bookings within 30 minutes from launch.

If you're sharp and knowledgeable about the vehicle, it would cost u even lesser than 200 dollars in India which is 17000 Rupees. Many times your break shoes are only half over and they say, sir u need to replace your break pads. Lol, They'll definitely run another 8-10ks without any issues. They basically make money in showrooms. Even the parts are expensive there compared to local car shops.
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 bull bar, tow bar, bash plate, side rails if that's the same thing I called brush bars?? also got the most essential thing for my dogs - factory heavy duty seat covers. I ordered full vinyl flooring which was $1000 (they remove the standard carpet and replace with vinyl) but the salesman said something recently about not available any more so might be standard flooring. Carpet does not work for me tho. Gonna wait for an aftermarket snorkel to be invented but you seem pretty happy with yours so might get a factory one. Will also try and get the new 3inch exhaust that Roothy talked about if they are on the market yet. To be honest Mahindra have been assholes about arrival date. Was meant to be 6weeks but now coming up to a year. They texted me some weeks ago and said end of October arrival for sure but that came and went without any further contact. Pretty close to cancelling the purchase. I am thinking about ripping the back seat out and replacing it with all the 12 Volt system or cutting the back seat in half and doing it. I don't have family to transport just dogs so thought it would be a cool spot in the rear seat compartment for a full 12 Volt. Feel free to let me know if that sounds like a bad idea, I am not an expert.
Mate I think pulling the whole back seat out and putting a custom 12 volt system in there is a bloody good idea. That way you can put a flat area over the top of it that is perfect for ya dogs. As for the arrival date, your not alone. Mahindra dealers are kept in the dark until they turn up on their door step. Mahindra have a stupid delivery schedule, and it doesn't run smoothly like most other manufacturers. Definitely get a custom stainless snorkel made up. As for the exhaust, you can get one made in 3 inch from your local exhaust shop way cheaper then the torque it designed ones. But they are a bloody good product. It's your money mate, so use it wisely and get the best outcomes for your hard earned cash. Hope this helps mate👍
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 thanks, I get all the extras I want and hit the road for more than $30k less than a base model Hilux with no extras and like you said will have enough fuel money to actually use the vehicle. I am already being judged and mocked for getting a Mahindra, it's a risk but we are evidently the risk takers trying out things to find our own answers. I am old enough to know people that called these "new" Toyota land cruisers "jap crap" that would not be around long. History did not bode well for them. I can't blame the sales staff about arrival, they don't know any more than the customer does about it. What a horrible way to try and run a business. You gotta feel sorry for them a bit. Anyway enjoying your videos and eagerly listening to your experience based knowledge. If you have links to a good shop that can make a stainless snorkel would like it,. The back seat I think adds more security and keeps more wait up from as well. Will post a clip of it ever happens.
Hey mate if you look up "rum city exhaust " in Bundaberg Queensland he will custom make an exhaust and snorkel for you as he was the first to make one In Australia when he did my set-up. How does the snorkel chuck cold air into the engine vs the standard air intake? Arguably hotter air as rhe snorkel sits in the sun, and a metal or black plastic snorkel has to be getting upwards of 70 degrees on a standard sunny day.
Mate the proof is in the air intake temperature sensor. It is sometimes 30° cooler then inside the engine bay. As soon as you start the engine you can feel the stainless start to cool down. The residual heat from sitting subsidies quite quickly, ad the mass of air that is sucked through it cools it down. The sensor doesn't lie, it definitely show a way cooler reading especially while idling around the bush.
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 thanks for your response. Where exactly is this air intake temperature sensor located? As for regular air intake, it's sucking air from through the front grille (not from inside the engine bay) which surely can't be any meaningfully hotter than air at snorkel intake level. Not trying to argue, just getting my bearing as to how this all functions so I can make an informed decision re air intake.
The sensor is at the start of the airbox. The standard mahindra intake is located in behind the right headlight up against the right guard, that sits above the turbo and exhaust. So the air in their Is hot compared to up at roof level.
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 so I did some research. When the vehicle is stationary or at (very) low speeds, yes, engine bay air intake is hotter than snorkel air intake due to engine effect. However, there is no measurable difference in air intake temperature at speeds above 'very low'. So, there's no discernible performance enhancement with snorkel. Remember, you have a radiator spitting out cold air via engine fan into that space as well.
Is there really that many things that a Land Cruiser can that a Mahindra can't? I know people run down the torsion bar suspension but what did a 100 Series run?
I was mainly talking about the amount of aftermarket accessories you can fit and the amount you can pull with them. Apart from that there isn't much difference. Certainly not $50-70,000 more. Thanks for watching mate 👍

I'm wondering if the center bearing failure is related to the extreme heavy coating of underseal on one side of the propeller shaft? On my initial drive home with mine I noticed some drive line vibes, I found sags of underseal nearly a centimeter long hanging off the tailshaft, after a 450km drive home. Scrapped them off with a paint scrapper and driveline vibes gone. That center bearing rubber is very soft. Hopefully mine gets returned soon, it's been at the dealers for 3 weeks now, I had it on the road for 5 days.
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 I was correcting an overfilled oil situation at 1000km and found a valve collett stuck to the sump plug magnet. After waiting on direction from Mildura for a week Qld. got involved and they picked it up on a flat top and took it 450 km back to Mildura. It was still running like a charm no noises, but for how long? Was it an extra collett dropped in by accident or did it spit one out? Everyone has been very civil, but out of a months ownership it's been on road 5 days.
Not good mate. I guess once the pull it apart they will find out hey. We had a ride on lawn mower that got a wing nut stuck under a valve 5min after starting it from new. It was dropped in the airbox by mistake. So things can go wrong hey.
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 It's a machine and machines break, usually straight out of the box, so there's no point getting upset about it. It's how the dealer and importer handles the issue that makes or breaks a company.

I'm not sure they are, as where I work "in mining" they are required to have a 5 star ancap rating before being able to use them as a mine vehicle. We only run cruiser here.
i am pretty sure mahindra with time work of all these issues as much as they start to get more and more demand. they will bring vehicles specific to markets and what people of Australia want.

Triton has a better aftermarket parts program here in Australia, where the mahindra and GWM seem to struggle with getting parts that should be readily available. Mahindra is very in house based with their products, where things like all filters/ brake pads and wheels are all threw a dealership. It's near impossible to get any aftermarket rims for a mahindra in Australia due to its STUPID 5x160 stud pattern. Where both others are a more popular design capable of more choice. From India the cars from indian companies r good ..not the best .. but very good in terms of reliability it's just their current tech like infotainment system becomes quite a problem ... Their touch screen nd all ...we have a ford endeavour nd a maruti suzuki 800 nd a thar

Thanks for the updates and reviews. in your experience, how do you rate them on fuel economy overall? Mahindra is inching to the top of my list for taking the dive in getting an overlander. they seem to be no nonsense and reliable.
G'day mate and thanks for watching. The mahindra is quite good on fuel delivering between 7-12ltr/100km depending on driving conditions and weight. The engine size is compromised when you add a hefty weight behind it. It lacks the grunt to pull heavy loads economically. In comparison our Colorado which has a tuned 2.8ltr engine will pull a similar size load with less fuel usage. The mahindra engine just needs a bit more power, and a better tune. But that doesn't mean it's a bad moter. The transmission is geared very well to the motor, and gives it great flexibility. We definitely picked the fuel economy up by running a larger free flowing exhaust and snorkel. You won't be disappointed by getting one mate, they are definitely worth considering. Hope this helps with your decision. 👍
Shocked at the 40,000 kms service bill of 800 Dollars! 180 to 200 dollars max is what it would typically cost in India. I guess there may be import duties associated with the parts as well as cost of transportation from India. But Mahindra should figure out a solution otherwise they will never capture the market like they have here in India. The new Scorpio-N maxed out its 100,000 bookings within 30 minutes from launch.

Many times your break shoes are only half over and they say, sir u need to replace your break pads. Lol, They'll definitely run another 8-10ks without any issues.
They basically make money in showrooms. Even the parts are expensive there compared to local car shops.

@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 bull bar, tow bar, bash plate, side rails if that's the same thing I called brush bars?? also got the most essential thing for my dogs - factory heavy duty seat covers. I ordered full vinyl flooring which was $1000 (they remove the standard carpet and replace with vinyl) but the salesman said something recently about not available any more so might be standard flooring. Carpet does not work for me tho. Gonna wait for an aftermarket snorkel to be invented but you seem pretty happy with yours so might get a factory one. Will also try and get the new 3inch exhaust that Roothy talked about if they are on the market yet. To be honest Mahindra have been assholes about arrival date. Was meant to be 6weeks but now coming up to a year. They texted me some weeks ago and said end of October arrival for sure but that came and went without any further contact. Pretty close to cancelling the purchase. I am thinking about ripping the back seat out and replacing it with all the 12 Volt system or cutting the back seat in half and doing it. I don't have family to transport just dogs so thought it would be a cool spot in the rear seat compartment for a full 12 Volt. Feel free to let me know if that sounds like a bad idea, I am not an expert.
Mate I think pulling the whole back seat out and putting a custom 12 volt system in there is a bloody good idea. That way you can put a flat area over the top of it that is perfect for ya dogs. As for the arrival date, your not alone. Mahindra dealers are kept in the dark until they turn up on their door step. Mahindra have a stupid delivery schedule, and it doesn't run smoothly like most other manufacturers. Definitely get a custom stainless snorkel made up. As for the exhaust, you can get one made in 3 inch from your local exhaust shop way cheaper then the torque it designed ones. But they are a bloody good product. It's your money mate, so use it wisely and get the best outcomes for your hard earned cash. Hope this helps mate👍
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 thanks, I get all the extras I want and hit the road for more than $30k less than a base model Hilux with no extras and like you said will have enough fuel money to actually use the vehicle. I am already being judged and mocked for getting a Mahindra, it's a risk but we are evidently the risk takers trying out things to find our own answers. I am old enough to know people that called these "new" Toyota land cruisers "jap crap" that would not be around long. History did not bode well for them. I can't blame the sales staff about arrival, they don't know any more than the customer does about it. What a horrible way to try and run a business. You gotta feel sorry for them a bit. Hey mate if you look up "rum city exhaust " in Bundaberg Queensland he will custom make an exhaust and snorkel for you as he was the first to make one In Australia when he did my set-up. How does the snorkel chuck cold air into the engine vs the standard air intake? Arguably hotter air as rhe snorkel sits in the sun, and a metal or black plastic snorkel has to be getting upwards of 70 degrees on a standard sunny day.
Mate the proof is in the air intake temperature sensor. It is sometimes 30° cooler then inside the engine bay. As soon as you start the engine you can feel the stainless start to cool down. The residual heat from sitting subsidies quite quickly, ad the mass of air that is sucked through it cools it down. The sensor doesn't lie, it definitely show a way cooler reading especially while idling around the bush.
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 thanks for your response. Where exactly is this air intake temperature sensor located? As for regular air intake, it's sucking air from through the front grille (not from inside the engine bay) which surely can't be any meaningfully hotter than air at snorkel intake level. Not trying to argue, just getting my bearing as to how this all functions so I can make an informed decision re air intake.
The sensor is at the start of the airbox. The standard mahindra intake is located in behind the right headlight up against the right guard, that sits above the turbo and exhaust. So the air in their Is hot compared to up at roof level.
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 so I did some research. When the vehicle is stationary or at (very) low speeds, yes, engine bay air intake is hotter than snorkel air intake due to engine effect. However, there is no measurable difference in air intake temperature at speeds above 'very low'. So, there's no discernible performance enhancement with snorkel. Remember, you have a radiator spitting out cold air via engine fan into that space as well.
Is there really that many things that a Land Cruiser can that a Mahindra can't? I know people run down the torsion bar suspension but what did a 100 Series run?
I was mainly talking about the amount of aftermarket accessories you can fit and the amount you can pull with them. Apart from that there isn't much difference. Certainly not $50-70,000 more. Thanks for watching mate 👍

I'll just take time off work, leave my family for a while, spend shit loads of money on a flight, plus buy parts and get them shipped through customs which will take ages, just to get some basic parts which mahindra are to lazy to get imported for the very cars they sell here in Australia. I'm wondering if the center bearing failure is related to the extreme heavy coating of underseal on one side of the propeller shaft? On my initial drive home with mine I noticed some drive line vibes, I found sags of underseal nearly a centimeter long hanging off the tailshaft, after a 450km drive home. Scrapped them off with a paint scrapper and driveline vibes gone. That center bearing rubber is very soft. Hopefully mine gets returned soon, it's been at the dealers for 3 weeks now, I had it on the road for 5 days.
Not certain mate. Mine had no vibration at all until it let go. Why is yours getting worked on?
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 I was correcting an overfilled oil situation at 1000km and found a valve collett stuck to the sump plug magnet. After waiting on direction from Mildura for a week Qld. got involved and they picked it up on a flat top and took it 450 km back to Mildura. It was still running like a charm no noises, but for how long? Was it an extra collett dropped in by accident or did it spit one out? Everyone has been very civil, but out of a months ownership it's been on road 5 days.
Not good mate. I guess once the pull it apart they will find out hey. We had a ride on lawn mower that got a wing nut stuck under a valve 5min after starting it from new. It was dropped in the airbox by mistake. So things can go wrong hey.
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 It's a machine and machines break, usually straight out of the box, so there's no point getting upset about it. It's how the dealer and importer handles the issue that makes or breaks a company.

I'm not sure they are, as where I work "in mining" they are required to have a 5 star ancap rating before being able to use them as a mine vehicle. We only run cruiser here.
