Yoshi has to be one of Wolf's very worst matchups. Wolf can't combo Yoshi because of his Double Jump armor. Yoshi can also nair out of Wolf's combos and start his own combo from it. Meanwhile, Yoshi can just juggle Wolf for free and edgegaurd him. And worst of all, most of Wolf's moves are unsafe on shield against Yoshi.
Top players think it’s even or wolf wins it. Ouch also beat the second best yoshi, Ron so I think it’s safe to say this set was a player gap, not a character one
No it’s quite the contrary. Because has disjointed aerials, and a projectile that cannot be destroyed, it’s pretty rough for Yoshi to hit Wolf. Even though Yoshi can armor out of combos, Wolf is pretty good at catching landings due to his incredible air physics so the string is never truly over.
