OMG!!! Lifesaver!! We moved into our home 3 years ago and I haven't been able to figure out this old timer!! Or ID it as the cover is gone too. From looking through pictures I was able to find this tutorial. We are moving away from lawn to an entire drip system outside ANNNNDDDD, I found a huge leak!! Now I can ID the zones, turn off the offending area and reprogram without figuring out how to install a new timer. I mean, this old thing works!!!! Not like the one out back (sigh) so thanks, you are a lifesaver!!!
Thanks this helped, except for those that want to know what number to enter for PROGRAM B to water every day. Then you enter "1". To make it run every other day you enter "2". "every 2 days" means the same thing as "every other day." But for every single day of the week enter "1."
I have a 6 station Orbit timer that looks something like this. It was installed over 20 years ago and is still working. My gardener usually programs it for me; I've tried to figure it out from the little instruction sheet, but couldn't really understand it. I was debating whether to replace it, but that's difficult for me because it still works fine...I just need to learn how to use it myself. Your video is helpful.
Thanks so much! This didn't cover what I needed exactly, but your lesson taught me just enough to apply to my application. This decade plus old timer really is elementary, it is just not completely intuitive until you get a few pointers as you provided today. I am so impressed with how many features this timer provides. How Orbit crammed so much into a non computer component is truly mind boggling. Again, really appreciate your effort and time in posting this!
Don’t have that exact model but the premise is the same. Just purchased a house with an Orbit system and was having issues getting it to run properly. Thanks for the tutorial, my lawn thanks you as well.
Thank you so much! I always go to TH-cam when I need more info on things im trying to repair. power went out and my sprinkler system didn't work anymore. I had to replace the battery which is on the back left of the system. afterwards I had to reprogram it. your video didn't address my certain issue but it gave me enough knowledge to tamper with it until I got it. I also used another commenters suggestion of hitting reset because for some reason after reprogramming, it didn't want to run for the time that I set up. a hard reset fixed it!
Help with the various start times! I don't understand how those work exactly. The program being done here shows the lawn (program B) with two start times. What does that mean?? Is it going to water twice for each day (12am AND 2am) you program it to do so?? Or what?
Very happy to find this video because I have this dinosaur and it works still! I have a small yard and only one zone so my question is how do I know if A or B program is set? I have A program configured for what I want and the dial set to auto, will it run program A? I left everything blank/not filled in for B
I inherited this orbit controller (the 6 zone model) and irrigation system when I purchased my house. How can I test which sprinkler head belongs to each zone?
I have this timer and this video was very helpful. Unfortunately no where did it talk about the reset button. I now have my system working like a charm. I had difficulty getting the second zone to kick in automatically it only would work manually. So don't give up on it until you try the reset button and start from scratch. I almost bought a new one thinking this on was broke.
Thank you so much, the video is very helpful. My Orbit sprinkler control does not work right now. In the small screen shown OFF PWR. I think it is means the power is off. How to fix it. I have check all the power controls in the electric box are on and all power at home are good/working. Thank you very much for the help. Asi
A great Video, just for everyone to know the model # for this timer is 57194. I have one, it works great, I was able to d/l the manual online. But to do so you need the model #.
Informative video and easy to follow. Thank you. I have a another issue I just can't figure out. On the screen, there is a picture of a water droplet that says, "OFF PWR" and my sprinkler isn't providing water. Is this connected? And if so, how do i fix it?
This means that you are not getting electricity. The screen is still on because of the battery backup. Common causes are the transformer not being correctly attached, a bad transformer, electrical breaker issues, etc. For help Please reach out to our support team and they will get this resolved: www.orbitonline.com/contact-us/
Thanks for the info. I need to run one station 7 times for like 5 minutes each time, starting at 8am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4 pm, 6 pm, 8pm. Am planning for this station to produce 25ACV which in turn closes a 25VAC relay switch which short circuits the 120V hot wire to power on a 1/2hp submersible water pump, the orbit I have has 4 start times, program A and B. thanks.
This timer has worked great for about 4 months but now will not shut off the zones after running for the programmed amount of time. I have replaced the batteries and also took the case apart but there is no way to open the mechanism to clean it. The system looks very clean though.
Your Video is great! Unfortunately I have a problem that wasn't covered and I can't find anywhere to download a manual. I have a teardrop shaped symbol in the window that says "Off PWR" within the drop and the unit will not turn on the sprinklers. Can you tell me what's up and/or where I can get a manual? BTW, mine is a 6 station unit but otherwise looks exactly like the one in the video.
This indicates that now AC power is getting to the timer. The screen is still on because of the battery backup which will keep the program in memory but isn't capable of powering the valves. Likely, this is caused by a bad transformer, or other problem that's preventing power from getting to the timer. First, we'd suggest checking to see if the outlet is getting power by plugging in another device. If that works, you will likely need a new transformer. We can help get that for you. Please reach out to our support team and they will get this resolved: www.orbitonline.com/contact-us/
Nice video, and thanks for the tutorial! I'm a little confused on whether my device is set to program A or B. When I go to 'Auto' it shows 'B' on the bottom left of the display. Is that what I'm currently set to? How would I change to 'A'?
When you program your start time, press the “prg” program button, you should be able to cycle through program and cancel or set a B program and set A program
Hello! I need instructions on how to set Program B, which I am assuming covers my backyard and side back area. A friend and I were able to set program (A) via the extremely (small font) and I have complete coverage of my front.
Ok, let's be clear: In the example in this video, lawn zones 1,2,& 4 is programmed to use program B. Program B has a start time of 12a.m. and 2a.m. (two start times). At 12a.m., zone 1 will start and finish after 5 minutes, then zone 2 will start and finish after 5 minutes, and then zone 4 will start and finish after 10 minutes. Zones 1, 2, & 4 DO NOT START AT the SAME TIME correct? Then at 2 a.m. zones 1, 2, & 4 will water again start & finish consecutively one after the other, but never simultaneously.
I can't seem to find the operating manual for the 6 station version of this controller. Is it available? Also, I would like to "manually" have all zone run for a specified duration but it looks like this can't be done?
I slid the tray out and replaced the battery. Now I don't know how to slide the battery tray back in and i need to get this system up and running again. Could you please call me at (910) 262 4137 or email me at annehayler2001@cs.com? thank you so much.
Is it possible to set 123 and 4 zone together and sprinkle one after the other...I tried and it works but I put in interval watering only 1 but it do twice...why ?? Why do u separate third zone from others I don’t get it 🙄
I have this timer and have used it for quite some time, however, recently what will happen with it is that the timer will "sometimes" not turn on at the appropriate time and I have to run the zones manually. Any ideas?
This sounds like an issue with the wiring to the valves or the valves themselves. You would want to check that the wires are connected at the timer properly and then at the valves as well. If this continues, our team could help troubleshoot further to get everything working. Please reach out to our support team and they will get this resolved: www.orbitonline.com/contact-us/
Hi.! This video was useful to understand the system, Thank you.! However I tried to used The B program every third day and it didn’t start.! So I when to use the A program three times a week and I notice that the system starts fine and it runs all the stations but it does Tun twice.!! Every time.!! Any ideas.!?
It could be a number of things. Usually it's a quick fix. If you can send us your contact info via private message on one of the social channels linked in the description, we'll get in touch and get this resolved.

We have model #57880. HELP. Decice was turned off due fo heavy rain. Now that it has been turn back on it no longer works. The Reset button has been pushed. How do we reprogram it?
So should I set all the stations 1 through 4 at the same start time.!?? in my case three times a week .! Ex 9:00 am .!! Right now I have them 1@9am x 8 minutes, 2@9:10 x 8 minutes, 3@9:20 x8 minutes and 4@ 9:30 x 8 minutes.! That will end the cycle at 9:32 but the cycle repeats.! Why.!??
What you have described will result in all the zones running multiple times. instead you only want to set one start time. one start time will run through all the zones in sequence. by adding multiple start times you're telling the timer to then start again and run through everything another time.
Got it.! Every start time will run all the stations, It took me a while to figure it out.! Even after I watched the video, Thank you. I read this comments afterwards but it is all good. I am a fireman and I wanted to run the system every day I am working. Which is every third day. Now the system is running like I wanted to .thank you .!
What if I need multiple start times, with different watering duration times? For example: watering at 10 PM for 20 minutes on each station, and wanting to water again at 5 AM for 10 minutes on each station? Is it possible to do that?
Orbit Lawn Garden Life Here’s what I’d like to do using 5 stations, using two different start times, and a different duration for two of the settings during the second start time: Station 1: 5am 20 minutes Station 2: 5am 20 minutes Station 3: 5am 20 minutes Station 4: 5am 20 minutes Station 5: 5am 20 minutes Station 1: 5am 10 minutes Station 2: 5am 10 minutes Station 3: 5am 20 minutes Station 4: 5am 20 minutes Station 5: 5am 20 minutes If it’s not possible, I can let it go and just settle for 20 minutes everywhere during both start times.
So is Green Day and blue night? I have green set at 6am does that mean it’ll start again At 6pm? Do I have to set blue for night ? Right now I have green set water every day and I have the switch set to auto
Please give a little more detail to setting the different times of day for the timer to water. For example of I wanted to water three times a day,how do I set station 1 for 6 am ,3 pm , 8 pm. Thank You in advance.
You would enter in three start times in the timer. Remember the start times are not for the stations they are for the times of day that program runs. If they only want station 1 to water three times you would need to enter station one on a different program and then put in the three start times.
I noticed one of my zones stopped working. All the other zones water properly and I haven't touched the program for a long time. Any ideas on what may be happening?
This could be a number of issues. If you can send us your contact info via private message on one of the social channels linked in the description, we'll get in touch and get this resolved.
Hi my timer all of a sudden stopped and hasn’t been turning on I noticed on the timer it’s says off power? What does that mean? We tested to make sure there was power in the box witch there is rest set everything and it still won’t turn on and either will that power off picture go off
This may indicate the transformer is bad. But we'd want to check a few things before saying that for sure. Please reach out to our support team and they will get this resolved: www.orbitonline.com/contact-us/
Hi! Thanks for this video. My issue is program B. I set my station 3 to run every 7 days on a B program, but I don't know when it will start. I assumed it would be the following day after I programmed, but no, it didn't run this morning. Does it start 7 days after my initial program? I want to check the system to see if it works before I go away for several weeks. I tested station 3 on manual, and it works fine. Also, I'm not seeing "B" above my station 3 like I did yesterday when I programmed it. I only see "A" above my stations 1 and 2, which is correct. (I'm not using station 4). My timer is an Orbit that looks even older than the one you show in this video. Don't know the model, but the instruction card is marked 91054-50 Rev B Thank you so much! And thanks for this video.
Thanks for your response. I set the station (3) on a Wednesday for a "7 day" interval, and it did not run the following Wednesday. Also: I am using 3 stations. The first two on A programs, the third on B program. Only the first two "A" labels appear on the bottom of the screen above their respective stations. The third station, B, does not appear. Except when I went to look at the timer last night, before it was expected to run this morning (Wednesday), the B was visible above station 3. Now it's not showing again. I'm confused. Please give me a bit more help. Thanks!
It sounds like program B is set to run on Tuesday. It will begin showing up 24 hours before the start time. If the problem persists, please reach out to us with a private message on our social media channels with your contact info. We'll get in touch.
Sorry for the late reply. On this, setting the day of week is automatically determined when you set the date (year/month/day). There is a calendar built into the timer logic going all the way to the year 2100, so it knows what day of the week it is based on the date.
Quick question: what if I want zone 1 for 20 min at 8. Then zone 2 for 30 min at 10. Then zone 3 for 10 min at 1pm? Is it possible to schedule the zone for certain times? Thanks!
Sorry for the late replay. For some reason we didn't get a notification when your comment came in. To answer your question, this would not be possible with this timer because it only has two programs (A&B) and you would need a timer with a third program to get that final start time. We make a number of timers that do have a third program, but this one doesn't have it. You could get the first couple parts of your example (zone 1 @ 8 and zone 2 @ 10), but not the third part.
New home owner inherited this sprinkler system and accidentally reset it to factory settings. How do I know which zones are active. The guys has two of these side by side one is called emergency system and master system. I have no idea what's wrong but only two out of a and b zones work I have 3 other drip zones and they don't work on manual and they don't look like they are turning on. I hope this make sense...
Not sure what "emergency" and "master" would mean. To see active zones, you'd need to go to the programming section of each program and see what is scheduled, how it's schedules and for how long.
Help! Turned it to off because of rain and "thought" I put it back to the correct setting but not going in. I can't even get it to start manual watering
Hello, if you could send us your contact info via private message on one of the social channels linked in the description, we'll get in touch and help troubleshoot.
Hi, when I set my 3 stations, say I set up in green, I put station 1 for 2 minutes at 8am, station 2 at 8:15am, and station 3 at 8:30am. Now let me just say I hit the reset prior to setting times. Ok so at 8am station 1 starts runs 2 minutes, then station 2 runs, 2 minutes, then station 3 runs 2 minutes. Then at 8:15am all three stations run, and at 8:30am they all run again. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
Hello, this is a question we get regularly. There appears to be a confusion between start times and stations. This timer does not let you set the start time of individual stations. Rather, each start time, which is what you're setting, will run every station for their allotted run time. So while you can set separate run times for each stations (for example, having station 1 run for 10 minutes and station 2 for 20 minutes...), you cannot have them start at different times, unless using the different programs. This timer only has two programs (the green and the blue). Stations will run sequentially for the amount of time programmed on each program. If you want to skip a zone in a program, set it's run time to 0 minutes. Hope this helps, but don't hesitate to reach out if we need to explain further.
If by this you mean you want to switch the valves to open on different zones of the timer, this would require rewiring the timer. Specifically, you would need to remove the wires and insert them into the desired ports on the timer. Easier though would be to just reprogram the timer to put the desired schedules under the desired programs, following the instructions in this video.
Thanks so much your video helped me get my sprinklers going again after 4 months of watering with my hose lol bc i could get help on this unit bc its old
To do this, you would need to identify which zones are hooked up to your timer which service the back yard. Next, follow the programming instructions in this video for those zones.
The water drop that says OFF PWR means the timer is not getting power . Three things to check when you see that are: the outlet, the transformer, and the fuse. Please reach out to us with a private message including your contact info on one of our social channels and we'd be happy to get in touch to help.
i own this older system and I need help. please contact me. fiascodniro@gmail.com.I am have the same issue that this young lady is/was having. Thank you for your response.
Any chance this offer is still up and running? I replaced the fuse, the battery, and tested another outlet; still no good. Is there something else I can try? I'm at lschiffb@gmail.com.
I totally agree! Ass-u-me too much, Orbit? It's easier to listen to if you click on "settings" on the bottom right (Gear wheel). Change to 0.75 to slow down video and audio, or lower.
Hello, we'd need more info to determine why that is the case. Please reach out to our support team and they will get this resolved: www.orbitonline.com/contact-us/
To set the date and time, follow these instructions: Turn the rotary dial to the time/date position. • 12:00 AM will appear in the display with three arrows pointing to the year, month, and day [See Figure 3]. • Press and hold the + button to advance the clock to the correct time of day. Use the - button to go in reverse. When the correct time of day is reached, press the enter button to lock in the time. To increase or decrease more rapidly, hold down either the + or - buttons until the display goes into rapid advance mode.

Can you program 2 zones at the same time so the water pressure is not as high?
No, unfortunately, none of our times do that.

How do i rest the system? The sprinklers are running twice a day and i cant figure out how to stop both.

Hello My gf has the same exact orbit system. I got the backyard sprinklers to work but not the front yard. Any help?? Thanks
This sounds like an issue with the wiring to the valves or the valves themselves. You would want to check that the wires are connected at the timer properly and then at the valves as well. If this continues, our team could help troubleshoot further to get everything working. Please reach out to our support team and they will get this resolved: www.orbitonline.com/contact-us/
thanks for the info!
Would be nice to show how to find the manual
@@orbitsprinklers I have one of these sprinkler systems and my stations are all running twice. Can you also please tell me the fix...
What do I need to do it mine says “Off Pwr” on the left side. I have the same exact programmer in the video. Blown fuse?
I have the same "Off Pwr" message, too. Blown fuse? I hope someone replies.
I just found our question is answered in the comments below: "This indicates that now AC power is getting to the timer. Please reach out to our support team and they will get this resolved: www.orbitonline.com/contact-us/"
We have model #57880. HELP. Decice was turned off due fo heavy rain. Now that it has been turn back on it no longer works. The Reset button has been pushed. How do we reprogram it?
Hello, sorry to hear this. Please reach out to our support team and they will get this resolved: www.orbitonline.com/contact-us/
So should I set all the stations 1 through 4 at the same start time.!?? in my case three times a week .!
Hello, please see around the 1:45 mark of the video where we go over multiple start times.
Orbit Lawn Garden Life
Here’s what I’d like to do using 5 stations, using two different start times, and a different duration for two of the settings during the second start time:
Station 1: 5am 20 minutes
Station 2: 5am 20 minutes
Station 3: 5am 20 minutes
Station 4: 5am 20 minutes
Station 5: 5am 20 minutes
Station 1: 5am 10 minutes
Station 2: 5am 10 minutes
Station 3: 5am 20 minutes
Station 4: 5am 20 minutes
Station 5: 5am 20 minutes
If it’s not possible, I can let it go and just settle for 20 minutes everywhere during both start times.
My installer locked the cover of the box when he left...How do I unlock it??? I need to adjust the timer system.
So is Green Day and blue night? I have green set at 6am does that mean it’ll start again At 6pm?
Do I have to set blue for night ?
Right now I have green set water every day and I have the switch set to auto
No, green and blue represent different programs. Nothing to do with day/night.
How do you set date and time. I tried every thing but no use. Please help
Great, thank you!
If you can send us your contact info via private message on one of the social channels linked in the description, we'll get in touch and get this resolved.
this is not the timer pictured. Where do I see how to set that timer?
Awesomeness thank you
How do I set up the day and time?
Don't know the model, but the instruction card is marked 91054-50 Rev B
Thank you so much! And thanks for this video.
The timer's watering day will be the day you set it, even if that time has passed. So in your case it will water next on the day program B was set.
We'll get in touch.
how do you set the little curser that's above the time? today is Monday and its set on thursday
I have zones A and B and I want to switch them for when I redid my landscape. How do I do that?
If by this you mean you want to switch the valves to open on different zones of the timer, this would require rewiring the timer. Specifically, you would need to remove the wires and insert them into the desired ports on the timer. Easier though would be to just reprogram the timer to put the desired schedules under the desired programs, following the instructions in this video.
To turn off all sprinklers altogether, just move it to “off”? The water bill is very high and I feel overwatering is happening.
Why in the world would you use 1, 2, and 4 and not just simply 1, 2, 3? I know it's not picky but really?
Thanks a lot
Excelente, fabuloso, magnífico , u la la , waooo,
Thanks so much your video helped me get my sprinklers going again after 4 months of watering with my hose lol bc i could get help on this unit bc its old
How do I set the sprinklers for the back yard?
To do this, you would need to identify which zones are hooked up to your timer which service the back yard. Next, follow the programming instructions in this video for those zones.
thank you thank you thank you
I have the 6-station timer. It runs at 8am even though I don’t have it programmed for 8am.
when my timer is set to auto there is a little water drop on the screen that says off power. and I set the timer all over and it still says off power.
The water drop that says OFF PWR means the timer is not getting power . Three things to check when you see that are: the outlet, the transformer, and the fuse. Please reach out to us with a private message including your contact info on one of our social channels and we'd be happy to get in touch to help.
Orbit Irrigation thanks, it was the fuse
i own this older system and I need help. please contact me. fiascodniro@gmail.com.I am have the same issue that this young lady is/was having. Thank you for your response.
Any chance this offer is still up and running? I replaced the fuse, the battery, and tested another outlet; still no good. Is there something else I can try? I'm at lschiffb@gmail.com.
You should show how to set the date as well, and slow down!
I totally agree! Ass-u-me too much, Orbit? It's easier to listen to if you click on "settings" on the bottom right (Gear wheel). Change to 0.75 to slow down video and audio, or lower.
Where is the battery stored. How to open the compartment?
Would you please show how to set the date
Could you tell me how to stop it?
what is the model number for this unit?
What diffrnt between A and B ??
But how do you set the date and time?
awsome, we have 2 of these.
I see the cut out on left but what is going to flip
Open?
You lost me at 6 min. on how to set a single zone to run. Otherwise - the programming has been a life-saver!
Some of my station don’t water what should I do
Hello, we'd need more info to determine why that is the case. Please reach out to our support team and they will get this resolved: www.orbitonline.com/contact-us/
How do I set the day and time mine is stuck on Wednesday and it’s Saturday and 3:31pm and it’s 1:19pm
To set the date and time, follow these instructions:
Turn the rotary dial to the time/date position.
• 12:00 AM will appear in the display with three arrows pointing to the year, month,
and day [See Figure 3].
• Press and hold the + button to advance the clock to the correct time of day. Use
the - button to go in reverse. When the correct time of day is reached, press the
enter button to lock in the time. To increase or decrease more rapidly, hold down
either the + or - buttons until the display goes into rapid advance mode.
I'm having the same issue. I keep trying to set the date and the cursor will not move from Monday even though it is Friday.

How to set the date and time?
How to set day and time??????
I have 2 valves why won't they start at the same time? I just want them to water at the same time.
This is not possible with any of our timers. Not aware of any timer by any manufacturer that allows this.
How about setting the date and time.
please see page 7-8 of the manual here: www.orbitonline.com/site_files/manuals/57194-24%20rE_231186.pdf
how do I set the date?
Whatever u do never ever ever ever turn the dial to OFF 😢 They will never come back on for eternity. No matter what u do. Press Rain Pause when u need to pause them. Never ever shut them OFF!!!
I followed the steps but it still doesn't start. Also,
This guy assumes that I want to set times on A....so what do I do to know IT HAS BEEN SET?
No wonder they don't make these anymore. the "next" feature is confusing. There should only 1 BUTTON for this: ENTER.
