I do have a suggestion for you to try instead of Guardian of the Guild-pact. 1st get some of the indestructible artifact lands then run 3-4 Brave the Wilds. This gives you a indestructible 3/3, a another way to sac things, and the most difficult creature possible for the opponent to remove with targeted removal. You could also run the auras that make lands into creatures. Corrupted Zendikon and Harmonious Emergence for example.
Here’s a thought and I’m looking forward to what you think. Instead of playing the life-gain dual lands I think it’s more beneficial to use the ETB-damage deserts from OTJ. The deck has a ton of life gain built into it and I think you have a better shot by reducing your OPs life total instead of delaying the damage to your own life total. I get that a single additional point of life can give you another turn; but as we saw in this league, when your OP has 12pts of burn in their opening hand, 1LP really doesn’t do jack to help you win the game.
This deck is able to grind and with the grind it wins the games. The more life you got, the more you can grind. Also every single life point might also be a board wipe with pestilence. It's not really about killing your opponent, it's more about winning by getting the value. "I get that a single additional point of life can give you another turn" That's not what the life is for, the life is for pestilence keeping the board clean. If you get burned, you get burned. You'll not beat a good burn hand by dealing the opponent 1dmg through the lands either.
@@eric.ingram Great question! The main reason is another pestilence activation. So the life parity can be swung with any cat, but the life gain not only keeps you further from dying to your opponent but also getting another pestilence activation which can help you control the board and thus win the long game 😁
I'm looking forward to playing this deck on my local store. however, I don't have snuff out cards. what would you recommend it as a replacement? cheers!
@@guimaluc0 totally reasonable question I would just put the cheapest removal spell you can. Could potentially play the swamp plains dual instead of the lifegain and play defile?
@@TeasdaleMTG defile is also my pick but I did not think about the plains swamp land. guess I'll do that change. another thing I forgot to mention: your mono black devotion 2 deck was very well done! put it on play this week and was really nice playing with it. I'm still getting beaten by burn decks, but it is what it is ;)

@@IDK-nz3yn these are great options, my only experience is an indestructible is much easier to get rid off than guardian, worth a try though 😁

@guimaluc0 can't win them all!
looks like a fun deck, i like black burn in pauper, is it not viable right now?
Anything can be viable, just depends how much you are will to change the deck to tackle the meta :)
Would the glee combo in this deck be that bad?
@@iquit669 adding glee combo is likely never bad 😂
Horrible audio clip at the start of the video 😮
I watched the start throughout the deck tech and seems fine on both mobile and PC
