  • Missed the second half of the show? The latest on...Oksana Markarova tells "Face the Nation" that while the U.S. is supplying weapons, "there is no such thing as fast enough when we are up against such a bad enemy and we have to catch up for such a long pause in weapons ordering", Chris Krebs, tells "Face the Nation" that while there likely will not be a "one single catastrophic AI-enabled event" threatening the 2024 election, he foresees a "steady drumbeat where we, where the voters, the public are just going to lose confidence and trust in the overarching information ecosystem", and Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates tells "Face the Nation" that "I'm not even going to begin to go there" about voting for former President Donald Trump in 2024, who he has written has "disdain for allies, fondness for authoritarian leaders, erratic behavior undermined his credibility."
"Face the Nation" is America's premier Sunday morning public affairs program. The broadcast is one of the longest-running news programs in the history of television, having debuted Nov. 7, 1954, on CBS. Every Sunday, "Face the Nation" moderator and CBS News senior foreign affairs correspondent Margaret Brennan welcomes leaders, newsmakers, and experts to a lively round table discussion of current events and the latest news.

Thank you, Sec. Gates. More leaders like him need to speak out about what's best for America during these perilous times.

We should send every cent across the seas! I'm tired of the people that say we need money here. I'm ready to give all my earnings (not just my tax dollars) to places all around the world. It gives me a sense of security from the boogey man.

It must be considered impolite to ask Republicans like Vance how much the party intends to roll back Social Security and if they intend to replace Medicare when they pull the program up by its roots.

Valenski should defend Ukraine in their own territory. Extending beyond those boundaries just seems like a futile waste of energy, of money, weapons and time. Ukraine does not have to expand their territory or push boundaries outward because that would only serve to expand the war. There is no need to go outside of Ukraine's homeland boundaries to regain any other Russian occupied territories. This kind of escalation depletes your military man power. Fight Russian aggression with counter-force attacks within Ukraine cities than are being bombed and people are having to evacuate. That's more than enough to do. Ending this war should be a goal and the motive operendum must be to not allow Russia to occupy any more cities or gain anymore territory within Ukraine's borders. It seems Valenski had more support and was more successful at the outset in the first year and a half, when he stategized and fought to protect people and cities within the boundaries of Ukraine. Russians were pushed back, tanks were evacuated, progress seemed to be on the making 4 successful operations. Then something changed, and the war weary began to question what turn this war was taking in some of Russian established territories. Powerful forces of hatred and revenge do matter , but 4 Valenski do not always work out 4 the best when outside donors don't agree with the direction the Ukrainian war was being taken and the amount of time and 💰 🤑 💸 that was be coming necessary to accomplish his extended goals of escalating the war beyond the Ukrainian borders 😢 💔

I hope that the war ends and Russia receives the required security commitments and withdraws to the pre-war borders. Just out of curiosity, to the men that read this,. The ambassador is a mother of 4 children. Would you have been able to have a child with this lady even if you life depended on it? Nothing personal; she is super smart. Just a thought experiment.
