She is a very kind lady an engineer to create extra ordinary electronic sounds especially from her Buchla. But don't forget her to be a creative mind of making, composing, arranging and playing music on the piano.
Amazing stuff. Real, serious electronica like this is a niche of a niche type art. It really shouldn't be called music at all, it's more like electronic sound painting. You've got to be committed to a bunch of pretty esoteric disciplines to be good at this.
Soy un entusiasta seguidor de Suzanne Ciani. En mi modesta opinión, creo que volver a los orígenes, es un error. Gracias por tu música, tus autógrafos, tus conciertos!
Feels a lot like Crystal Machine-era Tim Blake. Great synth sounds and sequences, not washed out by excessive orchestration. Lots of space to let the sounds just hang there in front of you.
This was absolutely magical to watch! and she's often teasing the sounds left to right :) I started at a beach with waves lapping the sand, then sea birds arrived, followed by what sounded like a plane flying overhead...really went on an auditory journey here!
Wow! There is some 3d-positional audio going on here when listening to this with headphones (AKG K240-Studio). Very interesting movements in both sounds and space! And the real-time aspect of all the things where the modular system is "played" must be very complex to achieve! Really cool!
@@Bati_ Ok. Didn't know that! That was always a thing that worked "so so" in the 90:S when Roland had some type of system that was supposed to simulate 3d-sound from a "2d" Right-left source (aka hoften headphones). Good on paper, but it never worked quite like this seems to do. And then there is always reverb that positions sound "somewhere in a big room" as opposed to "right where you are" (Dry).
Wonderful as always to see Suzanne Ciani perform. She is a legend and pioneer in electronic music and sound design. Always focused on her music and so inventive and with none of the pretensions seen in many other artists, no dancing to her own music, no strange exaggerated or affected hand movements or weird knob twiddling hand flourishes that others indulge in. Always an inspiration. Amazing technical excellence and musicality
Listen, I grew up without a TV, and still don't have one in my mid-40's. So maybe I have not heard her much. Anyways, I have a home studio now (nothing analog, no Korg MS-20, etc) and while listening to her sound I think "OMG this is sound frequency I will never hear anywhere else". And the guy nodding his head understands. If you design sound then you quickly become in awe seeing someone easily design things that you just know are not possible with your equipment. I can see how she can control the sound on a level that can only dream of. She's much more finely connected to the sound than me. I've done amazing things (I think at least for me) but not the ocean waves which she says are easy- for her.
Can you say one of the ORIGINAL dubstep and trap inventors of my time. 1991 I start listening to her thru my English teacher Mr. Deluca. The best year of all time. Ty suzi✌💝💖
All of those multi color cords plugged in looks like an operator like "I'll get you to the other line, not to worry, you'll be connected as soon as I get another line open...lol anyway I'm 46 and remember her back in the 80s I was 4 years old when she was on the Letterman Show.
The difference between Suzanne and DJ's, it is that she actually moves buttons to produce an effect in the sound, and the others just to make people think they are doing something but they are not.
interesting, but seems to be an experiment to incorporate a ipad. Artist Burg, and his songs Thugsaw and Norwalkers utilizes much more than this and has has a much more complicated sound. Granted she has been doing this before he was born though.
Burg is working with standalone synths, she literally made the patch for the Buchla herself and is playing in Quad. The sound of a Buchla is just superior to the rest of the field in my eyes.
She's never forgotten what makes synth so special, you can hear it in her playing, she's awesome.
For those that don’t know , She’s one of the greatest!!!!!
So good ! I love this performance ! beautiful musician !!!

Agreed.. it's really special.
So glad I discovered her. Eliane Radigue also very good if you are looking for more artists.
also Laurie Spiegel, Kali Malone and Sarah Davachi, i'd say

I hope true true art of synth is never forgotten ❤

Listen to Morbid Angel Gateway to Annihilation
A true pleasant experience for ears, brain and subtle body...

She's the voice in Bally's Xenon pinball, the first pinball used a female voice
Marvellous Suzanne Ciani !
Absolutely precious talent, what a piece...of art..
I am positive she has communicated with Aliens!
Want to see Suzanne, Jarre, vangelis and Wendy Carlos form a synth supergroup and tour. Anyone else in?

Thanks to the spatial processors she is employing!

Yeah a lot of her work is actually supposed to be listened to in quad
Brilliant!
If she only knew what she started.. just found her here. Look forward to booting up the old comp/atmos sound sys to run through her productions soon
still love it!!

I love how dancing to your own music is some kind of problem 🤣
(Full disclosure: I always laugh at my own jokes!)

We love a lowkey gal. not fretted by actual fame but known by those who are looking.
I sure am glad I'm listening to this through Audio-Technica studio headphones - makes for a totally different experience!
Achei muto viajante. Sons parecidos com Pink Floyd, Rick Wakeman.... Muito bacana.
Suzanne fits right in with Kraftwerk and Tangerine dream.

Well said
You mean waveform, not frequency ;)
Ocean waves? What about a noise generator, filter, with an LFO controlling the cutoff or something? 🤔
5:38 -2x Eventide H9. Processing intensifies.
Wow.

Alucinante!!! 😍
Binaural sound *amazing* 🕺🎡🎧
cerrar los ojos, y los sonidos rebotan dentro de tu cabeza.
She dresses like a typical office Karen from HR, but she kicks ass on old school synth equipment from the 1980s!
«Lady Buchla» Diva der Dioden.
Reminds me of Logan's Run
What an Uber Babe
Why keep showing that dude?
