hello friend! so it seems like Wednesdays are my days off. these weeks, I work through the weekend but at least I feel very proud of myself and accomplished. I try my best to document the process, and capture fragments that I could explain later on so you get an idea of what I've been up to. I feel very excited for my work, and the liberal senior year structure allows me to schedule my time without classes obstructing, which is really nice.
I also don't want to think about how I simultaneously want to be through with school, but as each day passes, I only have a few months left here in providence, in risd, on campus, as a student :c gotta cherish this!

Hey Anabelle, I'm so happy to see that you're enjoying your days and weeks :-) the scenes where you were grieving the loss of a place in the ceramic class hit me really hard because it was exactly what happened to me this semester, which is also my last semester in university. I missed the module application deadline and I could no longer enrol into the classes I've been anticipating since last year, months ago. I cried for a week and felt so silly because it wasn't a tragedy on any level, but it was such a devastating blow for me especially compounded with the stress of life's uncertainty after graduation.
But lost opportunities will be met by new chances. It's been hard to keep my hopes, spirit and chin up the past few weeks but I'm trying to stay strong. Thank you for this little video montage, and being brave enough to reveal your vulnerability. I was just thinking about how you were doing, even though I only know you through what you choose to put on screen.

I know, I also felt surprised by my degree of sadness. But it shows how much it matters to us. Learning is such a gift, you know? I was crying in the shower, crying when I fed my cats, when I woke up in the morning, and I felt kind of pathetic for having been that sad.

Oh how I felt your pain that you couldn't do the ceramics class :( Though it is not even "my life", I still knew how excited you were for that class, and how devestating it must have felt to not be able to do it :( I was so happy though to see you taking the chance to go to NY instead, go to the event and see William :)
And though you can't learn ceramics in the way you imagined it at first, there is sure to be a way you will still do it :) Have some time to heal and to focus on your thesis and embracing your last few months, and then you will sure find a way to do ceramics - just in another way :) And it would also be something to look forward to learning after you finished school - though you won't have classes or exams any more, you won't stop being able to learn and discover new things :)

omg for future references, you could go to fabscrap which is a fabric recycling center in brooklyn, their warehouse is in brooklyn but they also have a store in manhattan. its way cheaper and sustainable. Mood is honestly so expensive and their fabric choices isn't the best.

This was the most relatable vlog I’ve ever seen lol
hey annabelle! just wanted to let u know that i really felt that part about not getring into the class that you wanted. i havent been in that exact same kind of situation, heck, i'm not even an art student (all our subjects in my engineering school are fixed for us lol) but, i can remember feeling that, and deep inside that feeling is still there. i can see u trying to overcome that, and i'm so proud as well as inspired to be as pro active in feeling better after that sort of disappointment again.
But its just one of these things, you know, when you're a kid and in school and you want the whole world and you love so many things so much and you just start to believe that those are just what life is. the ability to look beyond and just fully accept is too much. i thought of myself in that situation, and yeah similar things happen to me in life too. like, i'd just not get into something or find myself rejected then i find myself trying to convince myself that, oh thats a part of growing up, and oh u have more time to yourself now or oh u're an adult now, and yet feel so hollow.
the disappointment is so enduring that i really just felt that pain.
i haven't been able to let go of my disappointments and certain life changing failures, but i really hope that this semester goes well for you, and you find something so brilliant, so magical, so wonderfully intoxicating that it all makes up for ceramics.

I want to pursue architecture and any math, art, or engineering class is always my top priority to get into. It also didn't help that my school doesn't really care about what you want to pursue and wouldn't help me to get into the class. (I go to a school where sports are more valued than the arts.)
