Bawk I just wanted to say I love your videos and watching you stream. You’re helping me through a tough time in my life right now. The content you do is great and you’re never boring to watch dude 👏🔥
For me, it's Alien Isolation. No other game I've ever played has outright killed you while trying to save your game. Saving your game. You can die. Hiding in a locker. Alien can rip off the door. Hiding under a desk. You can die. Hiding in a vent. The alien will come after you. Using the motion tracker. You can be found due to the noise. Use the flamethrower too much, the alien can become less scared of it. Saw the alien and decided to run away thinking you're faster than it? It will catch you and kill you. Mr. X can't even catch Leon jogging at a leisurely pace. Then you have the working joes. Such creepy bastards. I love that game for how bold it was. Not even the RE remakes had the balls to make save rooms places of tension.
In my opinion the game is more frustrating than scary. Dying feels so cheap and annoys the shit out of me. Sometimes it scares me but it lasts for like 2 seconds and then I’m just pissed that I have to repeat the last 10 minutes I just did
Yes! I just did an Alien Isolation playthrough, and as far as I'm aware, it's the scariest game ever made. The alien is horrifying! I'm a horror afficionado, and seriously, Isolation is so spooky it's an S+ tier and nothing else would get an S- in comparison. It throws off the whole scale for me.
I'll never forget hearing that terrifying radio message in PT. At the time I was living with my parents in Uppsala and playing the game in English, so I have no idea how it knew, but it started playing a message on the radio in Swedish and I had to pause the game to gather myself😂. I will never forget PT. I just wish I had kept the demo😩
@@jvqs55 I think I remember that one as well! The one I am talking about was the only one I remember being in Swedish and talked about a dimension opening with a number at the end. Been too long to remember well.
like play it alone and in the dark. And then tell me its not the scariest. I had to watch the endings and explanation on youtube and on the wiki cause Oh lord
I played RE7 at release, on my own, in a pitch black room, headphones cranked, completely blind (outside of some trailer footage) and F**k me. One of the scariest experiences in gaming (until the boat). All horror games should be played like that
Madison VR is easily the scariest game I've ever played. I never played it outside of VR though so maybe it wasn't as scary if you played the non-VR version first.
Cry of Fear is so ridiculously scary, both traditionally and especially psychologically, that it numbed me for at least 99.9991% of other horror medias.
I'll be the person to call the Dead Space placement a hot take. It's scary and adrenaline-inducing, no doubt, but no way is it scarier than the games in the "PRETTY SCARY" tier.
@@rupturedpheonix3750Maybe it’s just for me personally, but I always find games where you can’t fight and kill the enemies scarier. That’s why I wouldn’t put Dead Space ahead of Visage, Alien: Isolation, or even SOMA.
Alien Isolation and Silent Hill 1 I'd put at the top. RE2 and RE3 Nemesis had good scares back in the day. RE1 Re and RE0 were good too. RE7 was decent. SH3 and despite it's faults, SH4 had good scares. Haha Doom 3, yeah that was actually a decent survival horror, and made sense as you just play as a normal UAC marine I think. One game I'd put on here is Ecco The Dolphin, that game back in the day was pretty eerie and had probably the 2nd jump scare in gaming (after the first AiTD)
Putting SH4 on the list but not SH1 and I tuned out immediately. SH4 MADE ME LAUGH! The animations were horrendous, textures looked like putty, facial animations non-existent, enemies were monkeys, ghosts were annoying, just fucking bad. I will say that the concept of being stuck in a room is scary but the execution is god awful. SH1 scared the fuck outta me. That first nightmare scene of twisting alleyway with cinematic camera into a dead body stuck with barbed wire to a fence and then these grey fuckers with knives come and stab you to death IN THE FIRST COUPLE MINUTES OF THE GAME?! LEGENDARY! Then the screamer busting through the window! MY GOD I THREW THE CONTROLLER I WAS SO FUCKING SCARED. HANDS DOWN SH1 IS THE SCARIEST! Edit: fixed for typo
Bro you need to check out the first Fear Effect game. I did some deep diving on "Martian Gothic" and found a video basically suggesting what you said, it being a really frustrating game in a slew of PS1 games cashing in on the new survival horror genre. He mentioned how people forgot about Martian Gothic, SIMILAR to how they forgot about Fear Effect - except Fear Effect was AMAZING and Martian Gothic was awful.. I'm telling you, check out Fear Effect. Best survival horror on PS1 - totally lost in the mix. Best visuals, best gameplay, and really unique storytelling.. This is absolutely a game you should stream.
Have you eved played Decarnation Bawk? I saw it when you were scrolling on the list and iIwatched Runebee play it live. It'd be cool to see you play it if you never have!
you know... i finished RE VII... but i have 6 minutes total play time in outlast, now i dont remember much about it but i do remember noping out of that game very very quickly lol
No, PT gave me anxiety at best, its super over rated. It never had any threat or danger, Countdown Vampires scared me more than PT. My father beating my dog to death in feont of me was scary, my father beating my mom in front of me was scary, some fetal abomination in a sink and a white lady jump scare is not what horror games deserve to be. The only horror games to ever touch me and me feel were SH2 and SH3 and RE2. I puked in fear after watching my dad play RE2 when it released. Now I can beat it an hour, but back in 1998 it had an unrivaled amount of "violence and gore".
PT in the "not scary at all" category in the thumbnail gonna get people clicking for sure 🤣
heckle yeah
I knew it was scummy clickbaiting the moment i saw it
I remember PT actually made me uncomfortable and it's not bad thing it's just so well made horror game
Imo the scariest moments of bawks streams are when im drifting off to sleep and he triggers the jump scare in a puppet combo game 🫨
Very bold move to put animal crossing 3DS Version in the top tier, i respect it
That thumbnail is HEINOUS! 😂
Bawks editor. Please make time stamps it’s 2024 sir or mam

@mmileymiley15 You need to be more patient and have good timing on when to move as well as which tools to use to your advantage.

At the very least, the Upper Cathedral in Bloodborne is scary AF. The music is creepy, too.
No other game in the list has monsters like BB.

@@QuiteLunacy I remember now, that one is ominous. Cheers!
Totally agree on Nun Massacre. Couldnt finish it cause i was too scared. It deserves the n 1 spot.

The fact lost in vivo isn't on this list is a crime
Layers of Fear is Predictable Scares. To get the good ending you have to purposely get jumpscared by your dead wife haha
"You don't know who Ethan is".
I still don't know who Ethan is after two games other than he's the person Chris says "No".
even with lights and no VR headset RE7 was pretty scary for me
i didn't know fantano now makes video game rankings
I hope I'm not the only one who got most jumpscares from Minecraft 🤣
I feel like doki doki literature club deserves to be somewhere on here
disturbing doesnt mean scary

Idk if you go in not use to scary games, having those fuckers sprint at you it's absolutely draining

@AdamCantFathom alien isolation was pretty damn scary too. I'd put that above dead space.
Resident Evil series isn’t scary as a whole with the exception of 7 and remake 1.
Agreed on both 7, and 1 remake pretty much throughout the game but re4 had one part where regenerator appear for first playthrough
Depends who you ask. The OG re1 and 2 were scary to me as a child.
I thought it was mostly just intense rather than full blown scary but a lot of people were scared shitless by RE2 remake
My parents rented D for the Saturn when I was a kid, probably my first encounter with a horror game and it left scars man.
Watching nun massacre had me hiding behind a blanket.
Everyone have their own Tier List of Scary games
Alien Isolation and Silent Hill 1 I'd put at the top.

To me S.T.A.L.K.E.R. farts on all these games on atmosphere alone let alone the random jumpscares.
I still don't want to play dead space because the final chapter in the apartments still scares the fuck out of me

RE 7 is a horrifying game, even without VR.

Your comment on RE7 is kind of dumb. Almost ANY game would be scary in VR.
you know... i finished RE VII... but i have 6 minutes total play time in outlast, now i dont remember much about it but i do remember noping out of that game very very quickly lol
I agree with most of it except Until Dawn, it had some scary parts.
IDK if it was scary, definitely gorey.
Bawk’s clickbaiting at his finest 🤌
Can i get this list to do myself??

Ngl not having played either of the funger games is pretty disappointing from a horror games streamer.
anybody know what’s playing in the background
Sounds like the ost for the "no I'm not a human" demo
Hellblade is a fireeeeeeee gamee!!
I’m here!
Is he a ranker now? I thought he streamed games.....
Bruh 🤦🏽♂️
How dare Bawk talked. Go play video game.
Putting RE7 and Dead Space in 'Scariest Games' is wild. Dead Space is great and RE7 is good, but scary? absolutely not.
