- ROLAND FP-30X is the new model for the FP-X portable piano series.
Here we got Lim Lee Peng performing her own rendition of Someday My Prince Will Come by Frank Churchill.
FP-30X is equipped with the PHA-4 standard key and the SuperNATURAL sound engine for an authentic acoustic touch and tone.

Hi there Justin, the keyboard stand that we're using in the video is called KS-G8. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued.
However if you're lucky, try getting in touch with your local Roland distributor to se if they still have other similar models in stock :D
I have one on order, if I don't sound as good as you, I am sending it back. Just kidding, you are wonderful and I will practice.

hi im also thinking of getting the fp30x to learn the piano but im a bit worried that it would be too loud cos i live in a condo so i was wondering if u can like adjust the volume or smth
Hi Padulkros, thanks for the question.
With FP-30X you have the features to control the volume of the piano.
Alternatively, you may also plug the piano with headphones to activate the 'silent practice' mode so only you can listen to the piano and the speakers are muted.

Wonderful! Can you confirm if the FP30x can now record to wav on USB? Have you tested that? Otherwise the FP30 as we understood would only record to a midi file which is not so useful as you lose the original Roland sounds! Excellent video :-)

Yes, FP-30X has the capabilities to record MIDI or the piano itself through USB.
Make sure you check the settings for your DAW as well so that it detect the FP-30X as a sound module.
Hi @@RAPDistributionSdnBhd thanks for the reply yes it does now seem to suggest that on the new Roland FP-30x user manual, I was also hoping maybe someone here has tested and can confirm the quality of resulting WAV file?. The manual doesn’t mention much about setting it up or options for it so it’s not very clear, assuming it creates both a midi and wav file for each recording.

@@The-Real-Mr-Bond Hi there Jon, it would be great if you can ask this question to your local Roland dealer to assist you on this one.
This process will take lots of trial and error until you get it right. And a vast knowledge on your DAW that you currently used.
Just make sure the "drive" was installed properly on your laptop when you connect the USB cable to your FP-30. Kind regards.
And you have to put the sheet in landscape screen..

I was most impressed, not only by Ms Lim's playing, but also by the fantastic authentic sound of the piano! Was it recorded using only the exernal speakers?

@@ramensoup762 For FP-30, you need to use the headphone output to record but for FP-30X, it has a line output that you can record through stereo without using headphone output jack
@@RAPDistributionSdnBhd Ah I see thank you so much! I recorded thru the headphone output a couple of times but the audio quality is pretty bad. I know using headphone output will have a lower quality but it was really bad. I still haven't figured out why😂 The new FP30X seems a lot more convenient with built-in line output!

Hello there Marcus. RP and FP both shares the same SuperNATURAL sound engine.
If you're looking for portability, go for FP-30X.
On the other spectrum, RP-701 has a more traditional silhoutte and more suitable for home users.

Some notes sound substantially louder than they supposed to, and I don't think that is a player's mistake. Did you notice any issues with this?

The piano performances are expressed by the player.
FP-30X has a large dynamics range and it responded according to the pianist played.
I think that is rather nice phrasing on the player's part.

Is this piano good enough for grade 8 piano?
Hi if you're planning for classical piano exams, we recommend you to take the full package (piano + stand + pedal). The pedals will allow you to have full control of the piano with the 3 pedals (soft, sostenuto, sustain).
Also, FP-30X is equipped with the fully weighted keys, PHA-4 which simulates the feel of an acoustic piano.
Contact your nearest Roland authorized dealer to try the piano for yourself and a better look of the unit.

The preset that the player used in this video is the "Concert Piano", the first preset for the FP-30X portable piano.

But how did she get it? I just don't understand how Roland selects the people who get it early. I mean, are they like, "Lets take this person with 500 subs, forget the creator with 100k subs, and bless them with an early release piano whilst we make everyone who paid $2100USD for the FP-90X on pre-order wait for indeterminate months with no further releases on shipping information."
