It’s called Double Island POINT. Double Island is a different but real island in FNQ. Why would you compare a point to islands and not include Bribie Island?
Probably the most accurate examination on TH-cam. We are seeing the effort bridge & loving the episodes.
You didn’t mention Bribie… it’s a place you can just drive up the beach for an hour to just have lunch….
So amazing, I’m really going to have to take ur word for it as I haven’t been able to get on to any island, they are all on the bucket list with everything else. Keep up the content it’s amazing
Best overview of the islands i have seen. Like how you break down the overall rating into seperate ratings.
This is the content I've been searching for, what a great episode!
Last Christmas I couldn't get more than 3 days off work. I took a mate, two kids, a box trailer and 3 solid plastic kayaks to wathumba creek. Brisbane to wathumba on the first day. 2 nights of flooding then home in one day. 9 hours either way 😂.
It's doable but never again.
Fraser is worth spending 5 nights minimum
Loved it. What a Great Video. Thanks for showing the real costs and facilities available on these Island's
Great episode Bridget, been around theses Islands all my life and couldn’t agree with your outlook more 👍 Best of luck with RDDs new direction! Big fan 😊
Awesome comparison video, good for us travelling from vic trying to decide where to go!
Awesome video Bridget definitely agree with you on your opinion with the islands. But hey I haven’t done any of those yet . I was only allowed to do Bribie Island. Hopefully I might afford to move back to Australia and explore these islands and spend some quality time with my children is well which live in Narangba. Definitely looking forward to seeing you next week for your next episode
This is a good comparison video. I've been looking at which SE QLD island is worth visiting.
Not cost considering, Moreton seems like a good option.
That is a good detailed breakdown! Shocked by the results though.
great vid thanks for sharing I've done all the islands for years and will continue to do them i have the same opinion as you on most of your content, but you forgot one little diamond in the rough and that's Bribie Island, she a little beauty cheers from Queensland south new sub cheers
Being first time viewer of Red Dirt, I take it that all 4 destinations are a must visit. Thanks an I will be back,😊
Why would you include Double Island Point, it's a Point when there's an island you can drive to. Bribie?
Bribie island is the cheapest, easiest and most convenient beach to get to and drive on.
No barge fees etc. and there’s plenty of good camp grounds
Moreton Island is amazing.
Because of its difficulty and costing to get there, keeps all the hoons off the island.
FYI There’s no camping at DI. You’ll need to camp at Noosa North shore, inskip or Teewah
I like style/format, a $0.02 (opinion) series! Thanks for posting!!
great explaining on the drive ability, in actual driving (not including the access) they would be for me from easy to hard - DI and stradie are very similar then Moreton and Fraser are very similar. Indian head and Ngarla are some of the softest sand in a long dry spell. like 10 PSI soft. Great comparison vid. Personl list is Fraser, Moreton and the other two.
Ohhhh yesss keep it up
Fantastic comparison, I thought that Fraser barge was expensive sheez, have spent a couple of 1 week trips n still haven't been everywhere
Didn't even realise there was so many islands over there
I know in the episode you said a week, but If you’re traveling from interstate and towing a Patriot Camper and don’t have a jetski, how long would you need for K’gari/Fraser. Could you still enjoy 3 days as a couple?
As a local se qlder Moreton hands down. The cost keeps the dickheads out. You can have camp fires, and good surf👍
DI is a nightmare on weekends, absolute tool-fest. Western beach watching the sunset and swimming up at the Bulwer wrecks for me.
My ranking of value for whats on offer i would choose Fraser, Double Island, Bribie, Straddie and Moreton
I loved Moreton Island ❤
Fraser is the best! Absolutely beautiful 😍
I would rate Moreton by far better than all the others!
You should do a video on things that were not worth seeing or overhyped on the islands.
Did you mention the price gouging on Fraser Island
It should also be noted that Moreton is hard to get on to. Very limited barge trips over and you need to book them in many months ahead unless you're a solo vehicle and just luck a spare spot. Not to mention, lining up, waiting, time on water for Moreton, the return trip will eat up a solid half a day as well.
Straddie is good (probably the best, imo) for family trips.
DI just attracts too many toolbags to make it worth going.
Fraser, honestly didn't be compared to the rest, just too big and too much variety. Main negative for me is that it's about 4-5 hours to get to Inskip depending on traffic lol but if it's closer for you then you 100% could weekend trip it and be happy, just don't plan to see it all in that one weekend is all.
Can we get a “big, fat green tick from Bridget” sticker for the back of the 4x4????
you forgot to mention the the risks or dingo attacks on Fraser island
Bribie Island?
Been all 4 and have to agree. And yes moreton is too pricey!!!
What about Bribie?
Straddie does have lakes.
Thanks Brig, keep em away from Moreton Island; the way we all want it 😂🎉
Great Stats....
Hahaha thats my maroon 80 winching out the triton at double Island. Took 2x 12000lb winches to get it out
These are the most important things to consider for the average Joe & family. Great job B
I also thought Moreton would win
Interesting video just confused why you included DI just because of its name? Why not put Bribie Island instead? Agree NSI is too expensive, we live close by and just don't go there very much at all anymore due to poor value.
Bribie is like ummm I’m over here guys…
You missed Bribie Island.
$0 access fee
Close to Brisbane/ Sunshine Coast
East and West camping options.
Beach or inland track.
Facilities without the high costs.
To drive the beach or inland track, you have to buy a weekly pass at $55.50. She's not $0
I totally rate this comparison..... Moreton is the king, but it financially ruins me every time.
What about bribie
Cant have fires on fraser which is a downer
Not surprising the most expensive ones are the ones owned/leased by China.
Moreton is awesome but you are right
For me Moreton is the best, I recon because like old mate said below less dickheads and also less tourists on Moreton, which makes it less busy and idiots that dont know how to drive a 4be. Because it gets so busy on fraiser it stuffs it up a bit i recon
Yet the price is massively different lol 😆 mortan is expensive asf
If you live in Brisbane, going to Moreton for 5 days costs the same as going to Fraser for 5 days in terms of overall trip cost. Yes, the barge to Moreton is stupid expensive, however, I can do door to door on one tank of fuel, where Fraser is at least a 2.5 tank trip door to door, so it works out the same for me.
What about bribie 😅
All qld islands run buy people that have parrots and patches
No Bribie? Def the cheapest.
Horrible and over priced
@@intimatespearfisher $170 for a yearly pass aint that bad, if you use it
Di and Fraser are not in south Queensland, get your fax right
speaking of "facts" maybe you should, lol
I've been to all of these and moreton has definitely been hard done by, move moreton to #1 and all the rest down one and you'll have it about right
agreed, flip the list upside down !
Agreed Moreton is beautiful
Fraser island is my number one overrated place its a nice place but way overrated
no offence but are you into chicks LOL, just asking. no im not a chick lol
What in the world has this got to do with islands 🤣 if you watched anything or knew anything about her, the “chicks” are friends/colleagues and her mother 😂
