I put a hidden switch that disables a low voltage line like for the brakes and suddenly the whole bike doesn’t work and the location of the switch could be anywhere on the bike.
@@oregonebikermark8953 I have spoken to some store managers and asked if I could bring the bike in for a minute while I shop. So far my pharmacist and grocery store managers have said it was fine but I'm only going to be 5 minutes or less.
I have 3 bikes, all of which I've upgraded with thousands of dollars. They range from 3-5 thousand dollars in aftermarket upgrades. I leave my bike's locked up outside on occasion. I usually use 2 different locks though. However, I mostly take my bike inside with me wherever I go. At Publix I take it inside and lock it to a shopping cart. In CVS I put it in the corner where the ATM machine is. At Walmart, I lock it to the big yellow poles in front of the door. An all my bike's have audible alarms so I can hear it go off if it's touched. All you can do is try and make it as much of a hassle as possible to steal. I bought these bikes to be able to go places and I'm going to do that, but just be smart about it. I'm never longer than 30 mins without checking on it. Just yesterday I had to go to work related training in a not so good part of town. So I brought my heavy duty kryptonite chain and locked my bike to the office complex mailbox. So if someone wanted my bike, it would be very visible on front of the building, by the cameras. It was there 2 hours later.
I have an Emove Roadrunner V2 which cost me $1400 after &300 off black friday deal, taxes, and a bike lock. The bike lock is a Kryptonite Evolution Standard U-Lock. And yes, I use it to go to work and lock it for up to 9 hours at a time. The boss lets me lock it up inside the building, the main employee entrance, which is next to the shipping dock, has guard rails where me and another coworker lock up our escooters. I have a Hiboy Max Pro that I also use to commute to work with, but that one I’m using a cheaper cable lock that I had for another escooter. I’m thinking of upgrading the cable lock to a kryptonite chain lock. No bike lock is full proof… so don’t worry about it. You just have to remember that most cars can be stolen in less than a minute, and there are cars that sell for millions, so………. 🤷🏽♂
The battery quandary again. I use 1 lock and alarm on 1 bike and 2 locks and alarm on the other. Difference being one has a quick release front wheel, the other bike is a bolt on. I have medical appointments today so probably be left for 2 hours. Fingers crossed. And yes they are insured.
I totally agree with you. I don't want to leave any of my bikes anywhere unless I'm on it or someone is right next to it to watch it for me, and even then it's a risk.. if a store won't let me bring it inside then I'll wait to shop another time lol. I see way too many people putting trust in leaving there bikes outside of stores, restaurants and such. Two guys can easily pick up a heavy ebike and throw it into the back of a truck and easily be gone with it.
After buying a fixer upper fat tire moped type bike, I got it home and my phone started telling me about a AirTag. Turns out the previous owner forgot he put one in the bike somewhere. He canceled the tag but I kept getting warnings on my phone. Finally I was able to stop the notifications, after about half a day of figuring it out.
You get the lock that an angle grinder can not cut through. You get an alarm.. You put a motorcycle cover over top of the bike after those are used. Nobody will take a cover off your bike, then use 6 angle grinder blades, then set the alarm off.
This my only source of transportation. Got no choice. I can't bring in my motorcycle looking ebike into shopping or appointments. Maybe a folding Brompton type bike but not what I've got. Got 4 locks and an alarm. Pain in the ass to lock everytime but that's all I can do. And yes, I always get paranoid somebody will break the code. lol.
If they want your bike bad enough, and you get them enough opportunity, they will steal it. I actually fold mine when I lock it outside a store. Most thieves won't even bother with it. Plus I try to hide the battery, so they don't think it's electric. They know those cost more.
You don't seem to have a place to carry all the things needed to use for 100% bike security. Then you would still say someone will remove the cover, cut through your bike frame or bike rack and still carry away your bike with alarm blasting and GPS tracking engaged.
I feel more comfortable with a galaxy tag hidden in my goat power bike. Do not use apple air tag because any one that has an apple phone can pick it up. Very important is get insurance. It is somewhat cheap. Most Locks don't work against angle grinder
IMO, Mark....Never really 100% trust bike locks, because if some hemorrhoid wants to steal something, they will. Presently, I utilize 4ft cable lock, 1.75" diameter, 2.25 U-bolt & 120db horn/alarm. In the process of getting 2d ride & will upgrade accordingly!-lol...Stay Safe Ride Safer...Keep the wheels to the tarmac...Mahalo for your channel
The Goat Ebikes like the Motor Goat V3 Ebike has a pretty positive physical lock which locks the rear wheel which is a mag wheel. I have the Walfisk Ultra and it has a audible alarm if the Ebike is moved then if the Ebike has the rear tire locked so it can't be moved along with the alarm sounding. A BlueTooth system is also used for locking and location of the Ebike. A "NFC" card is used to lock/unlock the Ebike from the Dashboard Display. The Ebike is heavy and trying to move it would be a real hassle! The Motor Goat V3 would make it real hard to move that bike since a steel bar is placed between the mag wheel on that bike. That would take several guys to try to physically lift the bike to put it in a truck. A good high tensile steel cable with a lock on it locking the Ebike to a post with the cable running through the frame and rear wheel would make it hard to steal the Ebike. Putting a paint scheme on the frame so the Ebike can be identified by law enforcement. A well hidden GPS location device hidden on the Ebike helps locate and recover the Ebike if stolen. Living in large cities is a big problem with theft and small cities the theft of a Ebike would be unlikely. Always never leave the Ebike parked in a questionable area!
I have two locks. One folding lock and one u lock kryptonite. I don't take my bike somewhere that I will leave it for more than a couple of minutes tops.
Store runs where i live i dont most of the time , i have 4 gps devices on it and if im going up into an apartment maybe a u lock kryptonite. Over night i have 4 locks 2 chain 2u locks well lit area by police station. So all and all i dont lock it up.
There is no such thing as "Lock Proof" If there's a will there's a way. Especially with the availability cordless grinders. You can get one at Walmart for around $50. I'm lucky I can park my ebike inside my place of work. For short trips I use the Hiplok DX 1000 U lock. I have an alarm that also notifies me on my phone if the bike so much move. Also I have air tags hidden in the bike. I make sure when I lock my bike the battery is also lock with my U lock. Did you know its easy to lockpick (raking) most battery from their bikes. Right now I'm thinking of getting Insurance for my bike.
Get u a alarm and a tracking device. I lock my shit up all the time. I would like to see sumone would be stupid enough to try....lol. I use 2 locks. 😊 Bikes with nfc cards are a smart way to keep your investment. Bikes are useless without it's original card tht its assigned to. Besides, I'm not in store tht long for anyone to be eager enough. Not even 5 minutes. Happy Happy riding fam.
I take my bike to work at Amazon. I never once locked my bike, and it stays at the rack 11 hours a day. Lol. Nobody has the balls to steal my bike. I can remove the battery and front tire at the grocery store and toss those in my shopping cart while leaving the skeleton locked at a rack. No problem at a shopping center. But as you see in my photo on-line that I just secure it with a simple lock out front and just go in shopping.
For my Grizzly i has ALARM, U lock That Has Alarm, and 2 Different Kryptonite Chains, i plans To Getting E Tag Soon?, I Feels You, and i parks mines at my Job and Someone is in Building Often,🤷🏿♂️😀, i has Some Concern, but i tries To Be Smart Too,
After getting a cut proof lock.. an alarm and air tag. A cover... get insurance for the bike. $10 to $35 per month. Some covers bike price and more.
For my Brute I have the alarm, tracking device along with insurance for theft and collision.
Nice!
Agree and said 100%

HipLok DX1000 $300+ Truly angle grinder resistant; LiteLok X3 $300 also from the same material
Thanks for the recommendations.

I lock up my bike with U locks in between the tires, lock chain, & 2 handle bar bike lock. The more there's locks the less appealing to steal.
