You guys: their eyes are closed nearly the entire time. Nobody is conducting or watching to see cut offs and starts. They can just FEEL each other that keenly.
Pentatonix has a very special fanbase. I dont know if there is any other artists out there who can ask an entire arena of people to stay silent during a whole song and literally not a single person said a word. That was an incredibly special moment.
Im back two years later and still sob over this. I still am in pure awe over how pin-drop silent it got in that arena. Chills forever. So much respect that the band truly deserves🤍
I imagine that one reason Scott was so emotional is that this was their first performance after the incident in Jacksonville, FL where the protestors would not be quiet.
That chord on “free” (2:50) was incredible. It takes such an excellent ear to hold a chord with so much dissonance, and let the power of it hit before resolving. And the audience quieting themselves - that was beautiful.
oh indeed. Sang it some years ago in an acapella choir and we had to rehearse this specific harmony again and again, it's absolutely tricky to sing with the resolving.
I was at this show and the video Hassan got doesn’t do the performance justice. It was pin drop silent and even the crickets were louder than them. It really was spiritual for so many people💕
This song--every time--breaks. my. heart. The world can make me feel numb sometimes. So often, I try to detach from so much negativity and anti-intellectualism--it can leave me feeling numb. Every time--I return to this song when I need to know that passion, emotion, love, hope. . .and heartbreak are all still alive inside of me. Not once, in the hundreds of times that I've re-experienced this song, have I failed to receive that blessing. I'm so grateful to Pentatonix for saving me each and every time I listen. You may never know the extent of the generosity of your art. You have wrapped your arms around the globe in multiple embraces. I am just one man, but the love your artistry evokes in me makes me feel valued, relevant, important even. You had something to say, and you found this beautiful mode to communicate it to the world. We're all searching for that in our lives. Thank you for sharing your gift with me. Thank you for helping me continue to connect with what's real and important in life. Thank you for breaking my heart through storytelling--and thank you for showing me the path back to joy!
and their in-ear comms have been removed. (Scott explains the in-ears here: th-cam.com/video/HJTKBGao5Vo/w-d-xo.html) They just hear/know what each other are doing. They usually do an off-mic song during a concert, with their eyes closed, with Scott making hand gestures that I doubt any of them can see. When I saw them live two Christmases ago, Kevin had tested positive and was performing from an isolated room backstage that was obviously still in comm range. There were no synchronization problems and he literally didn't miss a beat. If he had any symptoms, they didn't show. But he couldn't go off-mic so we didn't get an off-mic song. They sang "That's Christmas to Me" for the first time in years where the off-mic song usually goes.
💕I was so deeply affected by this performance that I forgot to breathe and my eyes began to roll back!! It was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop- (I wanted to take the cell phone from the lady talking and destroy them both, she was soo disrespectful!) The band was on fire! Such passion!! I love them so much! 💖 Thank you for this video 🤗
@@anthonycauterucci7862 There are conflicting stories about that. Based on observation, the company has rights to perform the songs that had already been produced but no one has the rights to produce the original songs that were written but had not yet produced. So that’s a couple dozen originals that we will never hear. All of that can be observed publicly by the available videos, interviews, concerts, etc. Anything else is basically rumors.

What were they protesting?!!!
@@irwingibson4768 Mitch and Scott being gay.
It's seriously sad that there are haters everywhere, especially among the stupid. Combine ignorance and hate and you get people that are barely human.
Great lyrics by Avi and Kevin!
Matt’s bass was so clear and loud, great! They sounded absolutely sublime ❤
This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, and 2:49 is just my favourite part. Absolutely gorgeous.
My favorite part is a little earlier at 2:31. No one does Kirstin's part like she can.

It was so quiet that ironically I got distracted by a lady like 60 feet away talking on the phone 😭
Had the timing of life been just a little different I would have been at this performance. Hopefully next time, if that ever comes.
I was there too. Ia was my favorite part of the night

This is wonderful to know the music 🎶 & audience touches them like they touch us! 💞
Thank you for putting these 2 videos together for us.
You're welcome 🙂
I've been looking for a Run to You with Matt, and this was special. Thank you for posting this.

I wish I was skilled enough to edit out her voice.
OMG like this if u got the chills from this preformance
Back watching this. Such a moving performance, especially with the circumstances
I was there for that concert 🥺🥺🥺 really breathtaking
As much as I love Pentatonix it will never be the same without Avi and Kristin
??? Kirstin is still there.
That was absolutely beautiful.
2:16
Not my favorite. Avi wrote this and the best version will always include him!
Wow, I didn’t know this… why did he leave?
I agree. 🙂
sad that they can sing this song but the writer cannot. not the best version to me!
Corporate work product can be a bitch.
Does he at least get writing royalties like any other writer?
