The biggest differences are that his mother was mortal and his father a god - (his story does vary as there are so many islands from Hawaii to New Zealand) but the majority agree that Maui is a slender youth on the verge of manhood with long hair in a top knot. If you've seen the fast and furious series of movies "there's literally a scene where Dwayne Johnson aka the Rock,trains his characters daughter that's a soccer player to do a Samoan dance and polynesian war cry before the game. It intimidates the other female soccer team and their reaction is priceless XD

And music for this movie is by Lin Manuel Miranda so if you liked Encanto, and want to se huge crab singing how "shiny" he is OMG watch. NO No she isnt his daughter but she was in a jurney to find him because he made something stupied. And its a beautuiful story.
